Dana Dan is a well-known dance where Kali danced out of anger and it nearly destroyed the world, and she is portrayed by the main lead dancer. Kali herself is the embodiment of devine feminine rage, violence, fertility, time and change, and doomsday among other things. I have so much respect for this specific deity, I even named my dog in her name as to honor her.
Bloodywood have said that they didn't intend to portray Kali at all. It's clearly something that slipped in subconsiously but apparently that wasn't what they were going for.
Activate the subtitles and you will know why these guys are liked by many women - not only for their excellent music. But you've got it anyway. They give a strong voice to so many voiceless. Thanks for reacting! Today I have received their album Rakshak, best wishes from Germany!
Great on so many levels. This band and their message(s) deserves every bit of exposure and attention possible. My mother fought child abuse as an emergency intake caseworker in a hellish part of rural USA during the 70's/80's. If that little 100 lb woman can stand up to brutes, so can the rest of us. Each bit of education and action taken is a step forward. It will be a long and never-ending journey. Bloodywood is bringing this problem to a wider audience. Good for them.
This song, the visuals, the message coming from a place where unfortunately sexual abuse is still rampant is a better present for women's international day than all the glitzy flower pictures shared on FB put together. These guys are awesome!
Are you sure you have checked the statistics. How sexual abuse is rampant in India in comparison with other countries and as per the population percentage.
sexual abuse is rampant all over the world, including Europe and the US. "Not all men - YES ALL MEN", "Anarchy vs patriarchy" and the lyrics in general sound pretty international to me. I agree on the uselessness of donating flowers, we must all get involved together in ending this.
Sexual abuse isn't more rampant here than anywhere else, the difference is that you're seeing a society that is now confronting it head-on, and willing to air their dirty laundry instead of hiding it, so it can sincerely be dealt with.
Their songs talk about suicide, mental health, abandoned animals, corruption, and it goes on. This group is advocating for respect and decency the most agressive way, that is the metal I fucking love, it's about getting out loud the things you believe, that matter, and you want to rely on. I listened to them live in Paris two days ago, it was my first metal show and it was awesome. First time ever I'm considering buying merch as well, I hope they last and grow.
if anyone is interested I have a folk metal band list that covers all inhabited continents. Enjoy XD Diablo Huma- Equador Hiddenland- Equador Cemican- Mexico MiracleOfSound-Ireland (look up his songs Sirona, Grainn Mahoil and Tale of Cu Chullain) Alestorm- Scotland (it's pirate metal but some people count it?) Tyr- Faroe Islands Percival- Poalnd/ Pan slavic Arkona-Russia Rune-Serbia Po' Metra Crijeva- Croatia (the band name means half a meter of guts) Manntra-Croatia Brkovi- Croatia (more of a punk band but look up their song "Ovce" a MAGICAL blend of rap, metal a, punk and folk influences) Metaklapa- Croatia (This one is weird ... they do covers of metal songs in traditional Dalmatian singing style .. for example they did Aces high) Dubioza Kolektiv- Bosnia & Hertzegovina (DO NOTE! This band is called a band with no genre for a reason! they varry from Regge R&B To Folk-Metal-Punk ... compare their "Space song" and "No escape from Balkans") Arka'n Asrafokor- TOGO (also worth of note is Skinflint from Botswana but they don't ussualy have much folk elements) Al-Namrood- Saudi Arabia (They played metal when it was punishable by death... IT DON'T GET MORE HARDCORE THAN THAT!) Hassak- Kazakhstan (it's an ethno band but listen to their song Amanat and tell me it don't belong on a metal concert) The Hu- Mongolia Wagakki band- Japan Nini music- Taiwan BLOODYWOOD- India Alien weaponry- New Zealand Shepherds Reign- New Zealand/Samoa
These guys are freaking amazing. They are on a short list on my Music playlist. Basically only contains 4 bands. 1. The Warning 2. Bloodywood. 3. Eruca Native 4. Jinjer.
I pre-ordered the album the very day they started accepting pre-orders. It's been going more or less on repeat since I got it. Album of the year! Top tip: When listening to this album when driving, watch your right foot, as it tends to get very heavy...
My guess is at least part of this song will be a banger live in the moshpit. Is it just me or is their music very dance-able ? I got the physical media shipping tracking code today ! 🙂
i love the band, but your reactions are so genuine that I keep coming back to your channel to hear their music WHILE you react to it. Almost like listening to awesome music along with a good buddy!
One of the best (Metal) Bands of our time, and none of us would know without the internet. :O So many important messages in their lyrics, in addition to their awesome music, just strict f*cking awesome.
This is the kind of band I like wich meant band whose are theire own personnalities and theire own musicality too. Cause now a day all the band in hardcore or newmetal are quite the same, they sing at the same way if you close your eyes you cant make any differenses between them if you dont look at the name on the album. Bloodywood are like Gojira or Grorr and few others where you can recognize them quickly after the first hearing. The real problemes of metal band to day is this, they dont have anymore imagination, they only want to be like the others and have succes despite the fact to be original.
I keep coming back to this video. For your reaction. It is exactly how I felt when I first listened to the song. I hope Bloodywood stays on the scene forever. I hope you keep reacting to them! But until then \m/
These gorgeous souls are exactly what the world needs right now! This shitshow is beyond biblical. Its Epic. An uprising of humanity (and everything about us worth saving) that cant be/wont be stopped...so much love! Hold the light and Hold the line. WWG1WGA (Fucking THRASH that raises your frequency?!?! Shuddafuggup ❤️)
Welcome back! This song keeps better the more i listen to it. The energy, the beautiful melancholic weeping of the woman with those chugging riffs, Jayant's rage, the rapper's energy... everything was mixed and presented it so beautifully.. if you like this blend of rap and metal, you should check out their other song 'Gaddar'.. Its heavy ,melodic and so fresh. metal these days is stale. Bloodywood and Gojira are the only bands i listen to these days.
First off this band is just incredible, amazing vocals but past that the band themselves are so crisp. I loved at the end how he was doing this in and out growl with his breathing.
There was a band back in '98. They had a similar vibe, only MUCH more sinister and angry. They were called Fun-da-Mental and the first song I heard was called Godevil.....Its, well, I mean, I think its metallish? Maybe more industrial? Its just plain weird and awesome....SCREAMING voices, flute, guitar, drums....You name it. I mean, where else can you hear a piano solo in the middle of a metal song?
Love that you’re back doing this, brother! Thanks for exposing me to this band. They are excellent and have really good meaning behind their songs. The world needs more of this. You absolutely need to keep bringing The Metal Hunter to the masses!
I came across to Bloodywood "Dana Dan" song just like 20 minutes a go. I got recommended your previous video to your first reaction and I needed to watch your new video. As you said, Nu Metal is a hit or miss for some of us, and tbh am not that much into it since I ended up "growing up" with Dimmu Borgir/The Koventnant/Arcturus/Cradle of Filth and you get the idea, yet at the same time I was 12 when System of a Down got super popular with "Chop Suey!" on 2001. As a latina, personally I have a very soft spot for folk, specially when its mixed with metal. Bloodywood reminds me of Melechesh. I really loved your reaction at 7:24, depicts perfectly how westerners react to a different culture but, in a really good way! Great channel, instasub!
Always enjoy your reactions to Bloodywood and very glad that you appreciate the band amd what they're doing - and holding thumbs they get to tour your way soon. :) Enjoy Rakshak!
Welcome back! Who'd have thought that Indian Folk Old Nu Metal would sound so good. Speaking as a child of NWOBHM \m/. Whilst I'm sure you know Rammstein, have you watched Ohne Dich? The video really tugs at the heart strings.
Just watcheda clip of you for the first time and it was the bloody wood expect a riot... This is the second clip... And if you weren't sitting in the exact same spot I'd not have believed I was on the right channel... That magnificent beard man! 2 clips in and I feel robbed now that it's gone!!
Love to see your reaction to this band my friend as I feel exactly the same. This band is something very special and almost brings a tear to my eye as it's so bloody cool. All the best.
"Anarchy up in the patriarchy, and we're lovin' it!" Fuckin' killer band, album, and track. Ari Ari is another track of theirs to check, but if no one else has thrown it up, Zeal & Ardor are also worth a hell of a look...
I literally just commented on your other video in which you cited Dana Dan as a potential listen. So glad you got here with it at last. The reason you receive so many positive comments, is because your reactions are both informative, insightful and honest. You don't stop the video every 10 seconds to opine on what a great voice, guitar sound, drum beat, flashy lights there is.....you let it play and respond after. Big up to you and your channel and hope it grows significantly. New sub here 😊
I haven't disliked one song by these guys, but their videos "Gaddaar", "Ari, Ari, Ari", and "Aaj" need to be experienced. And for another band that's been around, I haven't seen you react to, The HU, Mongolian Metal, strongly recommend.
i believe the analysis of song that you read is a little bit off. the chorus "de dana dan" can be translated as 'punch repeatedly'. so the last part is basically 'we need to get better at this, we need to come together BUT until then keep fucking punching rapists'. which i think is beautiful.

Same here holy shit theyre phenomenal

Woah, Randall, thank you so much for sharing that. Your mother sounds like an absolute BAMF.

@@imtijamir8054 they didn't
The song says all men. Nothing about just India...
Sexual abuse isn't more rampant here than anywhere else, the difference is that you're seeing a society that is now confronting it head-on, and willing to air their dirty laundry instead of hiding it, so it can sincerely be dealt with.
Hahaha! Your face when the traditional vocalisations began. It's something else entirely. These guys are so effing good.
My vote: React to the whole album. They deserve it. The songs deserve it.
If that isn't an honest reaction, don't know what is. Great to see you back. Check out 'Aaj' from the same album, Rakshak.
Seconding this, Aaj is worth checking out!
Defo..right next to Gaddarr..amaaazing stuff..you won't be disappointed with either of these..
This!

I love how their guitarist is just rocking out. He seems like he's having so much fun with those thick riffs
Most remarkable thing about them is they are still an independent band.
I pre-ordered the album the very day they started accepting pre-orders. It's been going more or less on repeat since I got it.
Album of the year!

Discovered this band recently and I feel it so fresh. The production is amazing, really love that pride for their culture. Greetings from Argentina
Totally agree with your reactions & comments on the band. Got goose bumps listening to the track for the first time too!
i love the band, but your reactions are so genuine that I keep coming back to your channel to hear their music WHILE you react to it. Almost like listening to awesome music along with a good buddy!

I heard this for the first time yesterday on their UA-cam channel and I bought the album immediately. It gave me chills.
Man, I agree with just about every single word you said! I feel sure that 2022 is the year Bloodywood really makes a name for themselves. 🤘😁
I keep coming back to this video. For your reaction. It is exactly how I felt when I first listened to the song.
I hope Bloodywood stays on the scene forever.
I hope you keep reacting to them!

Fantastic album from an epic band. 💪❤️🤘
First off this band is just incredible, amazing vocals but past that the band themselves are so crisp. I loved at the end how he was doing this in and out growl with his breathing.
Loved it when u sort of stood still when the women in the goddess attire appeared. Now u know what a genuine reaction is
Absolutely love this band, you're totally right about the goosebumps, it's a long time since I've had such a visceral reaction. Amazing stuff.

This is the first song of theirs I had heard, addicted! Have you done any Alien Weaponry from NZ?
I haven’t!! Once they put out some new music I’ll hit it up with the old metal Hunter reaction treatment.

Ari Ari is a great song if you haven't heard it already.

This song is so good I had to stop your video.. make this comment and go hear the song for myself… love your work bro.
I came back …. Just had to hear it solo first time. Was glad to enjoy it with you after.
i believe the analysis of song that you read is a little bit off. the chorus "de dana dan" can be translated as 'punch repeatedly'. so the last part is basically 'we need to get better at this, we need to come together BUT until then keep fucking punching rapists'. which i think is beautiful.
DO AAJ man. that song is so insane.
