Thank you for this video! Very enlightening. I wore Guerains Vetiver the last two summers obsessively and excessively. This summer already is tipping to that direction. I think only now I´m starting to get the broader sense of how incredibly nuanced vetiver is (by not reapplying it every few hours). After wearing some heavy animalics the whole winter, the lightness of Guerlain´sVetiver and it´s soapy-woody-peppry-earthy-fresh sweet composition is suddenly better than ever. The transition of it is so smooth and gets slower and slower toward the end. It´s like it does never evaporate completely. You feel it´s long gone, and then get another comforting whiff of it. It is the only vetiver foreward I´ve tried so far. Pure love.
tal vez no sea el mejor pero me gustó siempre la frescura y la salida chispeante y cítrica de VETIVER de Adolfo Dominguez , para mi buena relación Calidad/Precio
Vetiver is such a challenging note for me. As popular as it is and as interesting a note it is, I've yet to find a vetiver-centric perfume that smells just right. FM's Vetiver Extraordinaire is very, very nice, though. Thanks! 👍
Totally agree--a true, full vetiver is a challenging note for me as well. And yes, I love Vetiver Extraordinaire! I'm also interested to try Givenchy's Vetyver, which apparently is a faithful reproduction of Hubert de Givenchy's original signature scent.
Can you do a video on the note that turns or has nutty/burnt plasticity smell in the dry down (on skin). I get it from fragrances like Dior Homme Intense, Valentino's Uomo, and most recently Dior sauvage Elixir. Really don't like it and would love to know what it is so that I may avoid it in the future.
I think there’s a good chance that the offending note here is Amber Xtreme, which is a widely used and powerful(!) amber/woody note. At least I definitely get that burnt-plastic smell you mention from it. Of course, fragrances don't list this note explicitly--but you can know to be on the lookout for it in any ambery/woody scents you try.
Lovely. Thank you

Thank you for this idea, which I find intriguing. I think I know what you're talking about, but will need to do some research. Thanks for watching!
