Essential Perfume Notes - Lily of the Valley (Muguet)
Переглядів 10 тис.3 роки тому
Lily of the valley-also known by the French “muguet”-is one of perfumery’s most iconic and charming notes. Sweet, fresh, and uplifting, lily of the valley graces many of the best loved floral perfumes. Learn about this spellbinding perfume note in an accessible 5-minute video that covers everything from lily of the valley’s cameo in the bible to its place in the perfume pyramid to its perfume s...
I like how this video is brief & very informative. Great job!
no wonder i've been addicted to terre d'hermes for years
I hate iso e Stupor, er super. It's a headache inducing, super synthetic smelling and cheap cedar-like chemical whose safety is FAR less known or discussed than oakmoss. Oakmoss might cause a little rash in a very small percentage of users but has been essentially banned by the big brains of IFRA while Iso E Super is a relative unknown whose use is celebrated and championed by IFRAs braintrust. Oakmoss, which has been safely used for well over 100 years is banned and this synthetic, nasty smelling aromachemical is just dandy? It's all about money. Another foul synthetic with similar issues to Iso E Super is ambroxan. Both are overused, smell lousy and are partially to blame for ruining perfumery.
Do you prefer the Diorissimo EDT or EDP?
Very good video
el parfum d'ete de kenzo, tiene lirio de los s valles....alguni similar q recomiendes?
Lily of the valley is my favorite note in fragrance; my very first cologne was Muguet des Bois.

Lilly OF the valley OF OF OFFFFFFF
You’re right-didn’t realize how much I was eliding the “of”! Oh well… lesson learned!
@brentkallmer1319 haha Your good. I just thought didn't know or really thought no Of.. haha but No Best smelling flower I think. ;)
tal vez no sea el mejor pero me gustó siempre la frescura y la salida chispeante y cítrica de VETIVER de Adolfo Dominguez , para mi buena relación Calidad/Precio
Nice video
Very intelligently articulated Mr Kallmer, thank you very much.
Lovely. Thank you
I LOVE IT! I wore it before I read all the reviews about its smell back in the 80's. I don't care what the critics say. I LOVE IT!
My dad favorite, he used it since I was 6years old, now I am 36 years old and it is now my perfume. I love it
Saw the note in Jade 888 by Hermetica. It was special
I only discovered your channel today and I really thought your contents are amazingly helpful to perfume aficionados, so I hope you will have the time to add more. Thank you!
such a very well made, informative, and professional video. love the information you shared and how you delivered it!
My garden is over run with this stuff. Super invasive
Best smelling garden tho... ;)
I love this beautiful flower and its smell too! I own 5 lily-of-the-valley perfumes in my large 30+ perfume collection. I own Diorissimo EDT by Dior, Pur Muguet by Cartier, Muguet 2023 by Guerlain, Lily-of-the-Valley by Fragrifert and Lucky by Dior. Pur Muguet is my favorite though!
I will waiting video about Patchouli
Hey! I really like your videos, you should definitely make more videos. Maybe a sandalwood note video
I absolutely adore this note. I find it very intoxicating and addictive. Guerlain does a wonderful LE Muguet which is released on May 1st every year but the price is obscene. Byredo’s Inflorescence is the next best thing but the longevity is only about 2 hours, sadly. I have yet to smell those Dior ones you mentioned but I’m eager to check them out.
nice channel subbed
Amazing informative and calm content. I wish to see more with other notes ❤❤🎉
I love Dior Asimo, but it does not stay for a long time. I would like you dear to suggest another perfume that is close, so that I can mix them together to get a stronger scent .
Wow! It was 👍. I felt like I was in a perfumery class. Informative, useful, and concise
Boiser vole Catier
nice video! suscribed
You were probably born n 81... Ffs what do u know..
Hardly any good Kouros reviews on the tube, thanks for this mate, i just bought one.
Cool stuff, but Reaktor 6 is waiting for you.
Very nice!
Thank you for the explanation, very clear. I just bought Ambre Noir and what a surprise! Very good fragrance, very pleased with the quality and price of Yves Rocher products Also, I believe the word Amber comes from Arabic word "aambar عنبر" a word used for whales secretions. Peace.
Azzaro wanted by night
Great info! Thanks!
Grey vetiver
Nice content 👍 i think the perfumer should get more of a shout-out. He’s the icon they created the icon (and his story about being the secret perfumer of creed makes him even more amazing). When I think of cool water cologne I think of the Snoop Dogg - Lodi Dodi song where he gives it a call out.
Thanks for watching! Definitely agree on Bourdon. Maybe he preferred to remain under the radar. Have you read "The Ghost Perfumer"?
@@brentkallmer1319 I havnt read it yet, but on my list 💪 I listened to a few podcasts / interviews from the author. Very interesting. My guess (before reading the book) is that part of his deal with Creed was to build the status of the Creed family and not the perfumer. Definitely worked for marketing! But it’s good to see perfumers getting more credit these days.
Thanks for the video! Great content style. I am a fan of iso-e super. I like molecule 01 and I think ormonde Jayne Montebaco uses it really well. I think it also plays a strong part in one of my favourite frags, another 13
Thank you 😊 💓.
Im woman but i have kouros in my collection ,i used when i need atention, bcause it have some powerfull atraction properties
Very interesting!
This will probably be my next "icon" purchase, as you call it, just to have it for reference. I really like the opening (only) of Green Irish Tweed and Cool Water is famously compared to that. Thanks for this episode! 👍
Hi Kris, you definitely can’t go wrong with CW-esp. for the price. I too have seen the comparisons with Green Irish Tweed (not surprising since Pierre Bourdon was involved in the creation of that as well). Will have to test them side by side at some point!
@@brentkallmer1319 Oh! I completely forgot about the Bourdon-Creed connection!
Хороший аромат, но не стойкий
You're definitely right on this.
You have got to try the EDP.....😍
Now I am intrigued…
