2:50 because they are electro-mechanical, they don't have any of the fancy electronic stuff modern lifts do. And the more moving parts anything has, the more likely it is to break.
thanks for reminding me of some of my own "fails". the first one didnt happen to me but my dad and my sister nearly fell in the modernized elevator at my apartment block, and got stuck in the unmodernized one (which happened in 2017, was enough to make me use the stairs when going down and do the cross sign when getting in the elevator while going up) and briefly getting stuck in an elevator at Biserica Amzei 27 while on my rounds of reading electricity meters, all because i wanted to see if the alarm works (they arent supposed to stop when pressing the alarm since its just a buzzer or a bell). theres good explainations for some of the fails in your vids (i think Marko explained them) and then some of them are just plainly stupid. (like failing to engage the slower speed while approaching a stop or locking the landing doors on a perfectly working elevator). i especially bet that elderly people or other people with mobility issues love the elevator that wont respond to external calls...
1. Amazing vid! 2. You have a new sub :) 3. You have almost the same number of subs as me (and I hope you get more) 4. I am currently doing an elevator/lift fail copilation and it has some very interesting fails 5. 2:23 For some reason, I would love to ride this one lol
I've experienced a fault that was scary. The elevator arrived as usual, we got in, pressed the button, the inner door closed but it didn't started. About 30 seconds later the lights turned off, it was completely dark. Tried to use the emergency alarm but nobody responded. So I opened the inner door by force, luckily the outer door lock wasn't engaged so we could get out.
@@DezsikeDevil1 That is scary! A very similar thing happened to me too when I got into the lift, pressed the button, the doors closed and it wouldnt move! Luckily I had lights but I had no signal and the alarm was very silent so I had to rely on other people passing by to notice me! I waited for about 30 minutes before they got me out…
@@HighAway I am not either british or american, and I use both names but since “lift” is much shorter and takes less space in the title I prefer to use that one
1. Ja upravo zbog ovakvih situacija mrzim kada stave nekvalitetna unutarnja vrata u neki lift umjesto senzora ili čak automatskih unutarnjih vrata, ma koliko god ružna bila. 2, 5 i 6.
1. - on IFMA T46 elevators with sliding doors theres also high chances that they will slide open because of the cabin rocking when moving up or down. it happens to regular sliding doors (as installed from 1971-1973) and on flappy doors too (as installed from 1973 to 1985). it happened to me too when i failed to close them properly. luckily on older models with drawer style doors i havent had the need to keep them shut with my feet so far though...

What kind of elevator was the first one
@@shealinbanta4169 it is an old Daka lift from the 70s

Old relay logic with dirty and high resistance contacts for the most part, or badly worn switches and contacts.
