You get strong vases that are watertight and if you using transparent filaments they can look like glass, they might make a good time lapse video.

I'm using a logitech c920 webcam set to 1080p and octolapse. I've got the bit rate set to 64M and I am out of ideas. Any tips would be appreciated! Your videos look amazing, keep them coming!

    Ha, I just recently printed a few of those N64 cube logos, since I always used to draw it on my papers in highschool....I wanted to have one to hold in my hand. Came out great with wood-fill (and stained nicely), but decided to use Hatchbox Gray PLA for my 250% scale one that I painted. Great channel, great videos, and amazing designs!

    Killer 'lapses.
    Have you considered lying a GoPro or equivalent in time lapse mode on the bed pointing straight up, and making a tall vase mode print around it? You could wait until the print was high enough before putting the camera in there so the hot end wouldn't hit it. Maybe put a small insulting sheet under it so the plastic camera body doesn't deform from bed heat.

    • @jessehigley5283
      @jessehigley5283 6 років тому +1

      You could probably custom build a build plate to be optically clear and just have the camera under it pointing up. It wouldn't be able to be a heated bed, but that's fine for printing pla normally.

    Hey i have seen your videos first on Reddit. The quality is blowing. What camera are you using? Is it a external DSLR because the pictures are so crisp.
    Do you have recomandations for a webcam to use with octoprint?
    Thank you for this nice entertaining videos.
    Well Done!

    • @MineThing
      @MineThing 5 років тому

      After setting up a DSLR with octolapse (which would have taken 15 mins but took 13 hours instead) I can safely assume that yes it is an external DSLR camera that is being used most of the time (apart from the top down shot where the camera moves up too). I am no expert but I would say that you could get similar results and DoF with a nifty fifty (50mm f1.8) but you may want a lens that is a bit wider so that you don't have to have the camera so far away from the build plate

  • @LegalEliminator
    @LegalEliminator 6 років тому +1

    your time lapses are friggen awesome, but I thought prusa printers were able to print with much better quality than the prints you showed. i'm assuming that because of the sheer amount of time many of those prints would have taken you turned down the quality settings.

    • @WildRoseBuilds
      @WildRoseBuilds  6 років тому

      i try and walk the line between speed and quality because alot of the finer details wouldnt really come through too well in the videos, for the most part i use .15 and .2 layer heights at relatively quick speeds!

    • @ScottLahteine
      @ScottLahteine 6 років тому +2

      The firmware includes a command to trigger a camera shutter, and the slicer allows you to add custom G-code that executes after each layer is completed. So, you just need to set the per-layer G-code to something like G91 … G0 Z4 … G90 … G0 X0 Y100 … M240 and connect your camera’s trigger to a digital pin on the board. A camera with WiFi or Bluetooth control can be triggered from a host like OctoPrint in a similar manner using a plugin that executes G-code and a shell command on each layer (or each time Z goes higher than it ever has previously).
