Today I challenged myself to beat Pokémon HeartGold in a Hardcore Nuzlocke Challenge. As a kid, the Pokémon Adventures manga was my favorite book to borrow from the library. I decided to challenge myself by completing Pokémon HeartGold using Red's team from his adventures, but in a Hardcore Nuzlocke Challenge.

Using the manga's protagonist's team in a game is already unique enough, but using the team from another character in another game is really dope!

I rly like Giovanni in the manga. He's not just heartless, big bad mob boss. He actually does have a personality outside of being team rocket's leader, like when he decides to not attack Red or when he gives him the amber. There's actually some humanity there that makes him a more interesting character.
Not to mention he only created Team Rocket because *Spoiler* kidnapped his son, Silver

Oh! Taking the manga characters to other regions? That opens up more possibilities. We could even see Red slowly make his way through the regions. (Probably would want breaks with other challenges in between though. Don’t want to get burned out with Saur.)

I'm glad you liked it! To be honest, the sprite changes are probably gonna be for special occasions now. It takes a crazy amount of time to recreate each frame, and NDS editing always has some bugs going on

Red from Manga is much better than Ash in the Anime or Red in the Games
Of course he is. Without debate. He's basically a cooler, and better designed character with an actual PERSONALITY, and STORY! Compared to the incompotent noob that is Satoshi, and the characterless mute NPC that is Game Red.
P.S.
Oh, and not to mention. Manga Red actually WON the 9th Pokemon League, and defended his title well over TWO YEARS. AND is proclaimed as one of the TWO strongest trainers in Kanto, according to Bill.
PMS Manga Red simply have better feats that put both Satoshi AND Game Red to shame.
