Goosebumps....ang galing nyang magkwento...thank you for the info about the late Pres.
Salamat for sharing a beautiful story of former President Elpidio Querino he was a Hero and very inspiring President . Of our country Philippines .
This should be written in history books
Tears rolled down my cheeks as I could not help but be deeply touched by the historical narration of the knowledgeable tour guide. Forgiving the very people who tortured his countrymen and killed his beloved wife and children is unimaginable. So so good a man to be capable of such. Previously, what I heard of Pres Quirino was about the “golden urinola”. Now I know the true character of the man. He must have been a victim of political mudslinging during his lifetime. Thank you tour guide. Thank you kayouTubero! Rest in peace Mr President.
Very inspiring story of President Elpidio Quirino na dapat pamarisan ng mga pilipino!
Former President Elpidio Quirino's narrative serves as a powerful reminder of the value of genuine national service. His bravery and commitment, despite the cost to himself, inspire all of us to give our all to our country and to stand up for morally and ethically righteous values. We salute his spirit of service and love for the Philippines. Thank you for sharing that story.
Amazing history of late president Elpidio Quirino. It made me proud to be a Filipino. Very moving love story. Thank you for sharing and inviting knowledgeable historians. God bless and more adventures trips.😊
Thank you for telling my great grand father's story. Hearing it always challenges me to live up to his moral legacy. Also crazy to think how much we love Japanese culture now. I wonder what our relationship would have been like had he decided to not pardon those Japanese soldiers.
Just last week we had a lunch with the descendants of these Japanese soldiers, along with the Japanese ambassador. Apparently we celebrate Elpidio Quirino's birth & death anniversary, and the date of his pardoning each year with the Japanese embassy. The families have come a few times already to honor him for significant milestones.
Thank you for your story telling and your amazing heart for research, sir. God bless you more. ☺️🙏
So nice to hear from you cousin @JustinQuirino.

Salute to FPEQ!
She suffered very severe PTSD and rarely talked about the war. It’s important to know our history as well. Thank you again, Fern! God bless!
I've read a book about the atrocities of Japanese soldiers ... I shared with my son...after a few pages he doesn't want to read anymore ... My ill feeling for Japanese is no end... My grandparents told me that their eldest son was killed by the japs soldier... She told me a lot of horrible stories during the war...😔... Senior here
Wow galing Mag paliwanag Ni kuya

Should be in curriculum of studies for our youth to remember our great ones
Pres. Quirino is my grandfather's 1st degree cousin. When I told my family in Hawaii about that fact, it was a huge surprise to them.

thats is interesting !! pero history war war . he is a good storyteller.. war is war !!! sad to say
This should be written in our history textbooks, this is the first time I heard this highly inspiring story of the greatness of one Filipino president who unselfishly rose above his personal tragedy to forgive the Japanese people in the interest of world peace. Such a beautiful story, what a noble man you are, President Elpidio Quirino!
Kudos to the tour guide!
Nice to know the history of our former Ilocano president quirino..not only president but also a hero
I was in Japan late 1979 under Foreign work & that time sikat na sikat yung “ANAK” ni Freddy Aguilar Japanese version … nagulat kami ng office mate ko na may mga Japanese men crying out loud real tears coming down their cheeks & started embracing us & whole customers at the party & explained their sorrows & deep regrets for what they did to us Filipinos & took them YEARS to suffer their pain & sorrow with tears for the unforgivable things they did to our country 😩😩😩
its not their fault anymore its the fault of their fore fathers. anyway its good they admit the atrocities of their fore fathers.
Yes, that is all true. My mother is a survivor of the horrors at Ermita during the war. She is now 90 yrs old and suffering from dementia, but on her lucid moments, she would always talk about what happened in Ermita during the war. Thank you very much for this video - now I can understand the trauma she went through as a child and still haunts her to this day. I am her daughter and she is under my care and I always thought that her stories were exaggerated, but when I watched this video it just confirmed everything that my mother said about the horrors in Ermita. Maraming salamat po.
I have been teaching for many years years and retired but just now only I've known about former Pres. Quirino's life story. I admire him for his true Christian spirit.
It's good to know all of these, which were not written in the books in elementary or high School..so tragic yet so heartwarming. President Quirino is such a noble man..His love for our country and its citizens was more than amazing..Because of his decision, our country is now earning the friendship and camaraderie with the neighboring countries esp. Japan. He was such a good man, I'm so proud of our late President Elpidio Quirino..
Actually . Alot of history around the world that school never teach..
grabe di ko napigilan umiyak, bakit di natin alam tong mga gantong kahalagang istorya😢
Wow that was an amazing heartbreaking yet very heartwarming story every Filipino must be aware of...nakapagtataka lang kung bakit ipinagkait ito sa atin ng government and schools... and President Elpidio Quirino's works, legacy etc was understated compared to other presidents...thanks to this wonderful gentleman na nagresearch on this and sir Fern for sharing❤
True.
My father's family, the Rojas clan of Cavite was a close family friend of Pres Quirino. I have pictures of him when he visited the Rojas mansion in Cavite City in 1949. He was a great man and a wonderful president. He took in the Russians and gave them political asylum here. So proud that he was once part of our family history❤❤❤
Napaka Gandang Istorya Ngayon ko Lang Nalaman Salamat po at Naikwento niyo❤️🇵🇭
After the war, America and other nations decided to help rebuild Japan. I am not reviving the old truce between the 2 countries, tapos na tayo sa ganung part of history, pero in between friendships lagi nating tandaan na walang libre. Alam nyo ba na hindi itinuturo sa history books ng Japan ang tungkol sa atrocities they did in the past? I even had a back and forth with a young Japanese and told him about it, and his response was, the abuse of women is part of a war. There seem to be no remorse about it, instead they hate the Americans for bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Yes, the new generation of Japanese are well aware of those bombings, but not about their atrocities. As an old saying goes, when they don't learn their history, they will tend to repeat it. Perhaps not in this generation but in the next to come. Let's be forgiving but not too trusting, that's all!
Napakabuti ng puso ni Pres.Quirino.
It's the horror of war
😊😊😊Pres. Quirino yur great President
Hats off to Sir Loui ang galing nyo mag explain siguro kung history teacher kayo madali at maraming matututunan ang students ninyo. Thanks Sir Fern another great vlog!

More power ka youtubero! ❤❤❤
Thank you po for sharing this vid to us, Sir Fern..it's very educational and inspiring po tungkol sa buhay ni late Pres Quirino na wala talaga sa mga libro..He was indeed a remarkable and true leader🙏 his story will always remain in our hearts and serve as a reminder that we should not forget to live in a Christian way and choose peace🤍 I hope his story will be spread throughout the country🙏

I cried for what the Japanese did to our country. According to my late Aunt (who adopted my mother) , their grandfather was a Japanese fisherman spy & his job was to check the
Wow!!! He's the most amazing guide. Very passionate sa kanyang explaination. I never knew that Pres. Quirino was from my hometown, Vigan. When I was young, I always passed by the Syquia Mansion and never thought knew its connection to Pres Quirino. Thank you so much for sharing.
Ang galing nya mag narrate ng part of Philippine history! Thank you sir for the learnings.
