The wolf WAS wiped out ENTIRELY in California in the early 1900's. This news lady doesn't know what she's saying. All of these wolves came from Oregon originally.
They are protected in Commiefornia so you'll go to prison for killing a wolf. I think they have policies in place that if a wolf harms or kills livestock the government will give full compensation.

(not known if the intro. was man made or up some side river/creek). AS far as pets, wolves kill coyotes if they find them, and a lot more pets are taken by coyotes and cougar. Wolves don't frequent housing areas; yotes and cats do.
