As someone who works in the industry, I appreciate how simple and clean you’ve presented this. You didn’t use any complicated terms or add too much information that would only confuse someone. Your tutorial is absolutely perfect. 🍃
That's so funny, I have had my stem cutting for about a year, the dumb cane was in a doctors office not getting any light or attention so I snuck and cut a piece to take home as a way to give it attention and I had it in water for 4 months and then soil for a little over 6 months and it's just completely taken off!
Hahaha. You know why I’m reading this. Bc I’ve been staring at this plant dying in my docs office for months now and finally discreetly ripped a piece off to see for myself if I can grow it better 😂
I did the same thing. I hope it doesn’t rot. I broke off a piece that was growing off the patent tree. Do you have to make a clean cut on the root before putting it in water?
such a helpful video! my dieffenbachia is looking a bit sad these days so i'm hoping this method will save some of it :) my plant has veeery long stems, it's quite unusual looking according to my mom at least. do you have any tips on possibly propagating the lower part of the stem as well?
Hi...yes, you can propagate the bare stem. Slice the stem into small pieces ( each cutting should have 3 to 4 nodes ). Now you can propagate them in water or soil like the tip cutting ( keep track of top and bottom part of each piece).
My dumb cane had root rot when i got it from the nursery. Every time i do a fresh cut it gets soggy and rots and I keep cutting, i only have about 2 nodes left :(
These plants are not safe for kids and pets. Poisoning can occur if you eat or are exposed to leaves, stalk and roots of the plant. They should be kept out of reach of the kids.

I have a 3 year old daughter in the house, this plant is poisonous?

I see roots after 1 week! 🤗
Best of luck!👍
😮 i didn't know that it can be used in water 💦 🤔🤔
One of the bottom leaves in my dumbcane is turning yellow. Any advice ?
It might be root bound...have you had a look.? If it is repotting is an easy fix.😊
Although if it's just one single leaf it might be natural...
Mucha agua creo que le echaste no?
Nice sharing
Thanks for liking
I cut off a leaf and put it in water…oops
It’s interesting that you say to wear gloves when handling this plant and yet you are not.
She said you can wear gloves or wash your hands.
