Welcome to Modern Homestead Alaska. We are located in South Central Alaska near the town of Wasilla. Living in Alaska and building our dream of “modern Homesteading” through the wilds of winter and the long summer days. We started building our Modern Homestead in 2021. We have since completed the upper levels of our home. Built a 16x16 foot chicken coop that dreams are made of. Our chicken ladies live in luxury as they view the beautiful lake from large windows inside the beautiful coop. We raise our own poultry, hunt for our food. We are avid fisherman And woman. We also built an amazing and beautiful wood shed. We have great big garden planes for the future. Join us as we dream big dreams and live everyday working hard to accomplish them.

I have used a no knead dough for years to make hot rolls and bread. Found if I butter my hands a little that it's easier to get into the pans.
Looks like a great meal. Enjoy your family. We used have that and everyone is gone. I miss them and cooking for them. Oh, girl you could use a back splash to keep your new walls clean. I never noticed that before. A gift for momma. Have fun.

Hi Jessica I can tell your enjoyment of cooking for your family radiates through your video.
Making home made pasta is a great way to use up eggs. The pasta roller is the best. You can adjust the thickness of the sheets of pasta prior to placing them through the fettuccine or spaghetti cutter. If you drape the fresh pasta over elevated rods & allow the pasta to fully dry . You can then store it in a plastic air right container & it keeps for two months. If stored in a cool dry cupboard. How thoughtful to offer such choices.

Wish I were part of the fam! Would love to be loved on with food! Hubs and I tried to have kids for years to no avail we are 52 and 50 now.. yikes! Love watching you and your family! I love to cook, bake and garden albeit all in containers in Florida! But we can pretty much garden year round. Its my first year gardening and I am having a blast!

Hi, i'm just going to talk to you as if i were in the kitchen with you and respond: that yeast, so funny, for i today used it straight from the freezer in a recipe with tepid water. And it worked great! So i just decided that from now on i would keep using it that way! Since i don't bake that much any more, i had my previous packet die on me. 😔 So that recipe failed, which annoyed me no end 😡

I sliced 10 wht onions n dehydrated n made onion powder again omgoodness did make much lol think I'll just buy a 10lb bag n work through it to get enough for a year n some for my kids lol have garlic going now n know I'll need 2 irb3 more bags from sams to fill a half gal jar lol 😂

My family and I are planning to come up in September for about 8 days and was wondering if there is a place to rent cabin for a weekish and also good place to rent a suv? And where and what places and what type of fishing is good during that time?
