    Welcome to my channel! I haven't worked with Jesmonite in over a year, but I purchased some exciting new molds and wanted to test them out. Jesmonite is not cheap (especially here in Toronto) so I didn't want to throw away my old product. However, I realized that there is a shelf life and it becomes harder to combine the base and liquid. Watch and learn some mistakes I've made this time around :)
    As always, thank you for watching! I hope to list some of these diys on etsy soon!
    I've recently started a candle brand on Amazon! I'll be launching new scents slowly. Thank you so much for all your support!

    Thanks for the tips :) I’m sure I read somewhere not to wash up the jesmonite as it’s bad for the environment to go down the pipes and can also set inside your pipes, but to use silicone tools and put waste in the bin.

    I’ve been working with white cement the past couple of months and I never got the marble effect that I wanted. When I bought jesmonite today and I’m still struggling with the air bubbles and the marbling 😭 good luck to all of us 😂❤️❤️

      hahaha yes good luck to all of us! I definitely need to keep practising. I'd love to try white cement, I just don't know where to get it. Is there a specific brand you're using that you can recommend?

      @@joolieshome I have a small market that sells it in 2kg bags but no specific brand 😓 it just says white cement but it’s all clumpy i have to sift it.

    I’m a new user as well and came across your video! What pigment did you use? Jesmonite pigment is so expensive so I’m just thinking on just using acrylic paint? Have you tried that yet? Thank you!

      Hi! Thanks for coming by my channel and watching! I use Jesmonite pigment and yes I agree, they are expensive. I have a ton left and wish I could share! but they're also more than 2 years old 🫣 I tried acrylic paint once, but just white paint because I wanted to lighten the color. It worked fine, but I'll try to make a video on that in the future!

    What did you seal it with thanks

      Hi! I used Mod Podge clear acrylic sealer (amzn.to/3zLTAf6) which works well and doesn't streak, but I am testing out a new natural sealer :) Thanks for watching!

    Hello dear can I ask you is it possible to use if to create a perfume cap/ cover ? I will use a sealer ! Would the alcohol in the perfume effect the jesmonite and melt it down ?

    • @joolieshome
      @joolieshome  Місяць тому

      hello! It sounds like a beautiful idea, but I'm not entirely sure how the alcohol would react with the sealer or the Jesmonite. I recommend reaching out to the company for more information. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Thank you so much for watching!

    Comparing jesmonite with paris powder what is better ?

    • @joolieshome
      @joolieshome  5 місяців тому

      Based on strength and durability, I’d lean towards Jesmonite for jars and coasters. Resin Crete and Boowanite feel lighter and can achieve beautiful colors, but they are more brittle. I dropped one of my candle holders and it shattered :(

    Hello!! how did you get the beige color? Did you mix blue, white and red?

    • @joolieshome
      @joolieshome  2 місяці тому +1

      Hi! I used a mix of yellow blue and red. I added a tiny amount of each colour into the liquid until I achieved the shade I wanted. I don’t remember the exact amount of each pigment, but add them one at a time and you should be able to build a nice beige colour!

      @joolieshome  4 місяці тому

      Hi! I'm in Canada and I purchased my Jesmonite from fibertek.ca. I believe there's a company called mad mayker that also sells it online, but I haven't purchased from them before. I found this link helpful: jesmonite.com/distributors/
      Hope that helps!

      @joolieshome  Рік тому +1

      I didn’t know either until I looked it up, but tbh I’ve used it for over 2 years without a problem. I think if you store it correctly (air tight, dry conditions, correct temp) you’ll be ok! I’m going to sift it and see if I can save the rest of it :)
