I remember uncle Ian mowing with that mower and the 6480 in 2020 I think. Your Dad has been keen on using it for a topper for a few years now it's made a cracking job of your hair😂
Tis a great mower for that job.. at least if something broke in the mower you wouldn't cry over it.. great job 👍
28:40 great content again good ideas of trying to get the old machine running better ruining the old machine rather then a new machine
Great video… amazed that the mower came back to life and worked well in those horrific conditions. Keep up the good work.
You can flip the gyro upside down on those Kverneland mowers and you can use them in 540. No need for the 1000rpm
Kuhn and john deere made mowers together i think, we have a 1999 kuhn fc302g, had it since brand new, absolutely solid mower, follows the ground well, will mow a tree. Mowed anything from heavy july 1st cut, to heavy rushes, to wholecrop, to..... a sheep. Yes a sheep, don't ask.....
Those Kuhn are a quality mower alright . Cut a lot of grass with one also , followed the ground lovely . A handy mower to manoeuvre also
John deere didn't make those mowers... only input was the green paint. They were kuhn mowers rebranded.
Yes they are just Khun with green paint.
The big thing I find with the rushes is to keep them topped and graze tight to them and if they are soft rushes or young the cattle will eat them
Once you turned the few knives round she was like a sowing machine when running up to speed
Make up 2 stop brackets to fit over the chrome on the rams for lifting the mower. Drop the mower onto them and carry it that way to maintain your height. You dont need to be lifting it up and down anyway. Will give you a nice even job
The joys of hire work at times more output than input when adding up the sums.
By god Phil it's working great, you bent down to look at it with a full head of hair and a big beard and you came back up like a raw baby 😂😂
Hi Phil enjoyed the video you look 10 years younger nice one
Good Job at Getting the Mower working together Philip!!!
Phil looks like bro now 😅
The sheep Shearer must have called. 😅
Jazus they do look similar, you’d swear they’re related!
Looks like Joe McCarthy, Irish rugby player I reckon. Lol😂
Looks like Luke Kelly before hand.
Well Done, Great to get it going again.
Looks like the mower did a nice job, the field looks nice.
You seem to be heaping all the blame on "drivers" for the damage done to the mower..... I'm just curious... did the driver leave the sheep wire and heap of timber in the fields too?. I would have thought that whoever left that stuff lying around in a silage field would share in the blame or maybe that's just me.
The first one that hit the timber is at fault because he didn't stop after to make sure damage wasn't being done, which it obviously was because the noise it would be making
Love the new look phil...fab
The new look suits ya bud keep the beard off.. great video the paddocks look 💯 times better great job say your delighted to get it done.!
For controlling rushs I would highly recommend getting a weed licker for the back of the gator, I have yet to see anything as effective as them
Rushes dried out like hay or straw, great bedding
I do think you can turn the gearbox on the swivel the other way around and use it as a 540PTO machine if you want to use the 3690 on the mower some day :) Every bit of machinery would give trouble when it has been through a war of abuse and mishaps :)
Good man Phil + Your Daddy was right. As Daddy's usually are. Loving the videos + I m not a farmer
Rush beeding great works great for me and saves some money on straw and everyone know the price of straw now is stupid you can let it cut for 2 weeks and it still wont rot so dont be worried about balling it even ift you bale it slighty green and leave it on some dry ground it will wilt away just dont keep them pushed together spread them apart a small bit
Going to be even priceier now after a second bad summer
Hi farmer Phil that was a great job and great video 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉the best of luck with it
Nice hair cut farmer Phil . Great video as always
The 40 series Tarrap were seriously good mower in 2008 I think it was Kvernaland group bought out Vicon which started making the 42 series which was basically a pure disaster we had 2 of them for 2 year they broke our hearts shafts gearboxes beds learned all we know about the internals of mowers in them 2 years. Kvernaland went on to make the 43 series which was a super mower again. We have some new spares for the 42 series if there any good to anyone hubs stonegaurds and share pieces and a few conditioner tines might keep a yoke going.
If you know there's no stones after topping with the tarrup mower you can top the same ground with the samasz from then on
Good job getting it going, far too much is disposed off these days. Everything needs to be maintained. 👍
Hey Phil, we wanted you to keep the camera rolling for the wet spots. It is great entertainment for us.
Good man Phil, pull the grouper and conditioner off it and she will top away for years. Those Kverneland mowers were hard to beat.
Years ago my mate had a Kidd double chop with the puddings taken out of her and topped away with it for years. Keep at it👍
Was gonna say the same . RIP da two off her n away ya go Phil
Great video Phil. Great job topping. Enjoyed watching. 👍🏼👍🏼
Good luck with your Rush harvest. A new concept to me but I can see your logic.
Derek's dream come true. 😊😅😊
Greatest channel ever
How do you expect a driver to see wire rolled out in a medow , blame the fools that leave things lying there in the first place. Blame the driver its easier, blame the farmer you might lose the job, been there.
You can't keep a good machine down you can't beat a mower for topping, see how close you can get to the wet part famous last words the next sentence is usually FFS why did I do that what an idiot, enjoyed seeing that good luck Phill
Great video Phil. Really enjoyed it
Serious mower to cut clean those mowers
Well I reckon that headge row/ nettle crop find was a good plan.. seems to have chopped that rushes no problem.. I remember when we used our kidd double chop as a topper... made a good job of spreading the stuff.... even if it was 4-5 feet cut at the time.. 😂.. stay safe 🏴
Good use of an old machine. You can't knock a good design.
that story of the sheep wire made me wince
If there is one thing about Tarup, they definitely knew how to paint a machine I’d love to know what type of paint they used…
Good job Phil well done
dont blame the drivers what about the careless farmers leaving things lying about
Exactly my taughts 🫡
Reading this comment you have clearly not had the disappointment of Employing people...
@@billyyoung5363the not stopping to check out the noise on the at the time new mower just proves your point beautifully
They could of been the 1s that left it. But dont matter who left it still try and miss it it could of been manhole cover
Jaysus lad i dont think u need to be here at all
Could you turn the giro gearbox on the mower upside down to change it back to a 540 mower?
Keep up the great content Phil 👍
Need to get a bit fit Phil blowin a bit there in the nettles....
Were they all your own fields those lads were mowing in ? 😂
Phil, you can’t really blame drivers for hitting foreign objects they can’t see in a field of grass. Expect for the first man who didn’t stop when he hit the sticks. If it wasn’t for the drivers youse wouldn’t of gotten half the work done
Inspirational Video Phil! Just shows you old tired equipment forgotten about can be cleaned-up, loosened off, greased-Up and put to good 👍 use.
Just need to relax and chill out with our favourite farmers in the world 🌍.Farmer Phil you look so much better without the beard just saying. So so good luck 😉 and hope this good weather continues.🍀🍀🫂🍀🍀🍀😆🍀🍀🍀🧑🏻🌾🧑🏻🌾🧑🏻🌾🧑🏻🌾🧑🏻🌾🧑🏻🌾🧑🏻🌾👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀
Can see reason for using it if theres crap in the feild to hit dont matter you thort it was scrap so dont matter if its damaged
That’s not fair blaming the drivers for people leaving things in the field did you charge the land owner for the damage, if alll contractors stuck together and charged landowners for the damage it wouldn’t take long for them to cop on the way I see it the mowers are expected to level the fields the rakes row the stones and the balers pick them then the slurry macerators collect them 😢who’s codding who
sell it while its got a shine on it
A piece of useable equipment sitting idle is an asset wasted. 'Use it or sell it' is something I try to abide by. Even if only sold as scrap! To their credit, this isn't the first time that Farmer Phil and family have taken a piece of equipment out of the hedge and put it back in use. The potato harvester (if my memory serves me correctly), the beet harvester for sure and a few other things! Well done them I say and it is always good to see things back in use.
Great vidos phil as allways
Ah jaysus like them kv mowers are how good like phill shur going over stones and stuff would kill the bed on any mower anyway liked the video lad
The hair and beard will be hot during the summer months. The new hair do will be much better.
Good job
Imagine trying to blame someone else for machinery that's broke when they never look after their own machinery. Cowboys Ted. Cowboys.
Excellent video 👍
Nice, 90 bales.
That banging sounded like a sack of hammers in a washing machine.
Sheep wire is the worst for getting caught in the hedge cutter too. I have come upon unrolled Sheep wire when breasting hedges before and if it gets wrapped up on the rotor it's a pain!!
We found an old sheet of reinforcing mesh with the hedge cutter once. Stopped the tractor dead. It looked like a load of briars until we hit it. Big mess to cut off the flail.
I was hedge trimming an over grown back garden with the hedge trimmer and somebody had burned a mattress and the grass had grown over it ! I had to fold up and go home complete with mattress 😂🤣
Good video Phil.
It’s a great mower just got a very hard life
Fix up the tarrup, she'd make a great backup
Christ they couldn’t be arsed to fix it right when it was a fairly knew machine never mind now 😂
Backup to the triples and the Deere? Backup to a backup seems quite well prepared
I thought u had a major cyclone topper ir did u jst have that on demo ?
Evening!
Did you not have a jd 1350 as well as the 1365 could you not use the 1350 would that be easier to get going ?
Good stuff
What.spray and rate will you use?
Short sides forget the back 💈 barber I’m tight on money
Will u ted it or not I know we’ve made rush straw/bedding just interested if you will or not❤
Saves breaking something else 😅
What do you do with them next
Yeah did like this one
390s are slow to start, put in a fast starter
How much for the grouper Phil?
Ur only spreading the rushes u need to spray them
Bale It for bedding
nettles and cleavers are edible
Hi phil, great video. I would have a genuine interest in the mowers grouper where you are giving it away or selling it, so if u could drop me a message, it would be appreciated
Helllloooo everybody my names tom lamb
'Short back and sides'
Sum Mower 😅😅
Theres drivers and theres screwdrivers !!!!
I was talking to father Phil at lamma and he told me all about that kevernaland mower , he reckoned it was the biggest heap of dirt ever came into the yard 😂🤣
So he bought that john deere..... that leaves half the grass standing behind it...... as they say ' never meet your heros'.
@@ronanwalsh7024I had a John Deere 1365 for a long time and if good blades were kept on it it would shave the ground , we now have front and back samasz and they do the same ! Kevernaland grass equipment is shite especially the rakes they self destruct and the power harrows go out of rotation and the rotors start to hit off each other but they make the best ploughs though .
Love your videos phil but its the absolute simpletons leaving stuff in the fields id blame lad
👍👍👍.
😀🚜👍
Frist
42 series kevernaland are an unreliable mower 40 and 44 are a way better mower
13666
Drivers fault or yours😅😅
💪💪🙏🙏🇮🇪🇮🇪👍👍
Embarrassed for you, crying about workers when it’s all only stories you’re repeating from when you were playing Lego in the house and heard the grown ups taking ..shows a huge disrespect. Your father could tell the story with a bit of class, not this childish second hand story…
Shake rattle and roll
Can't under stand sword he said.
