If you fed 2 bales every day it would reduce the amount to be piked in and maybe reduce the amount of silage that ends up on the slats. But only you know how long it takes to go up there so maybe the gain isn't worth it.
Tried to get to see one of these working with intention of buying but couldn't so I rang Johnson's to see if they did demos another no so I looked to hire one for a week of them, another no. Got in touch with hustler themselves and nothing. Rang blaney and 2 days later and X10 landed in the yard for 2 wks trial, bought it.
You could save driving on the silage by feeding the first one left then doing the second one on the right with the boom right out and boom on as you unroll. Then repeat for the second half of the shed
Hey. We have this machine on our dairy farm in NZ. When you cut the wrap off just cut 1/3 (not 1/2) and you won't have the problem of it getting stuck to the chain.
I really like the two camera videos with the monologue to camera as your thoughts arise while you are using the equipment or performing a task. It must be more work in the edit but the output is worth it 👍
Definitely only feed 2 bales at a time, just feed every day, be easier pushing up too. If you have the miss shaped bales take less off, say 1/3 before you spin it, keeps the plastic tight and the bale together so you don’t have bits that can get snagged. They a good thing. Ps you’d be in trouble in nz for feeding out that thick in the paddock 🤣🤣
The way I put the bale on is I take off the wrap first, leave on the net then I put it on the hustler cut the net and wrap the net around the bars for stopping it going over the side and the net should wrap around the bar instead of the chain
Great Video lovely machine Farmer Phil one quick question about it when you take the machine off how does the hydraulics connect and reconnect is it a hydraulic bank to seal or have hydraulic pipes to be connected each time best wishes cheers Declan
If you look on the left of the machine you can see that the hydraulic drive engages mechanically to the feeder so there are no hydraulics on that part of it. It's a round contact with two lugs on it - this is the mechanical drive.
Hi Phil I don’t think I could justify 10000 for one of those for 200 bales does not make financial sense that sort of money could go way further spent elsewhere does what it says on the tin but god it’s too expensive
Lad Ik your trying to save time by putting four bales in every other day but you would be better putting 2 bales every day so that there's not a big pile of silage in front of the cattle and there would be less silage going onto the slats and going into the tank and if any silage did go onto the slats go in pick it up so that the silage is not wasted
They are a great machine, we have been using one (different brand) for the last 8 winters. It's on the back of the tractor for most of the winter. You do need a wide feed passage if using it behind a tractor, and a hydraulic top link is also essential
Evening phil. Why not put half a bale on one side, then do the same on the other side and do the same all way along that way? You won't have to drive on the silage
Have a bridgeway one myself good machine for tight passages spin out both side and then move and repeat i lets the plastic go around with the chain does no harm pulls off when empty also handy if you want to split a bale between houses
you should be able to feed both sides at once ....... look at the video posted up on you tube . the passage in that video is very narrow and they are using only a loader on a tractor ........... buy the new machine you will not regret it ............... have one here for a few years .....good machine in a narrow passage ..........stack the bales on their ends in future .......they will spread round shaped bales much better ....... if a bale will not unroll u can unhitch from the machine and put it on the other side and the bale will roll off ........unchopped bales tend to not unroll in the opposite direction of the way the bale was baled more so than chopped bales , if that makes sense ........ they will work well on a tractor but u will need a loader to put the bale on the unroller ..........u can use the bale spikes that come with it but u will not be in a good mood after ...... drive harder out in the field and spread the bale out over a bigger area .......less waste .... I thought that I was mad buying one , but I would not part with it now ......only machine to feed in a narrow passage I never have to do any forking in after from day to day .............!
I bought one last year use all the time very handy on the telehandler like you.We use it for bedding too tend to loose the cattle out.We find it good as you can put a small amount of silage where you need it.Buy a new one you will be pleased with it.
Those machines are waste of money, drop d Bale with end facing the animals, come back the next day and shove it in. You can access shed from both sides.
Beautiful machine you could also fill it in the yard with your diet feeder and feed the one shed but you have to dump the feet outside and push in very cool thanks for sharing
Nice setup, I guess feeding both sides as you move back is the way to go :) I would also think that it will roll off easier one way than the other anyway, because the bale is rolled together one way anyway :) But quite nice setup anyway. And if you buy a new one, I guess you can sell it again when it isn't necessary anylonger. But the onrolling in the field is very handy ;)
To bad there isn’t a remote button that you could push after you’d cut the first half of wrap off, could stay by bale and push to roll it over verse climbing back into loader.
Make up a triangle out of H iron and put hydraulic rams on each side, you're only wasting time with that yoke. And you'll probably still be spronging in.
We take wrap off then sit it on then cut 1/2 net off unwind the bale and pick net out of the passage .you are trying to put too much in the passage still a lot of graping
Drop your bales in the passage way and roll them back with a grab. A smaller 5ft tine grab.... you can clean out waste silage, you can work the silage around. You can press it down so its not falling in to slats. That machine is cool. But its a one trick pony and it is kinda slow. Nothing to do with you, its just the process is slow having to drop bale, hook up, cut the plastic, roll the bale around, back over to take off plastic. Back in to machine..... Thats a lot of messing vs.... grab the bale, drop it, take plastic off and blow bale apart.
With the weight of the tele can you not drive up to other end of building Phil with the boom out, as turning the bale just use the boon in at the same time, surely that way you could do both sides without driving on the silage , just a thought 🍻👍
You should try the bale splitter b4 you make the decision....just to be sure you have the right machine. A splitter like ifarmwefarm i mean. Should work in that passage well, but the hustler would work well to put a bale into the feeder at home, or even any of your passages without feeder at home.
Surely Keltec would send ye a bale shear and some of the tub feeder manufacturers should send ye demo's of both at the same time, that looks a very slow way of doing it
Your ad section would put QVC to shame, won't be long till you're getting a call to be a presenter on a shopping channel The shed was the perfect width also any thinner might have had a few problems spreading the bale
If the Wife likes it go get it because HAPPY WIFE HAPPY LIFE. Plus it looks like it's going to save you a lot of work and like anything else the More you use it the faster you will get and you will get better at dropping the silage where you want it.
If you fed 2 bales every day it would reduce the amount to be piked in and maybe reduce the amount of silage that ends up on the slats. But only you know how long it takes to go up there so maybe the gain isn't worth it.

Would a tire pusher be any use shoving in the silage
Ya have fun mixing that tank they have more round there feet.
Hey. We have this machine on our dairy farm in NZ. When you cut the wrap off just cut 1/3 (not 1/2) and you won't have the problem of it getting stuck to the chain.
Great video Phil. Enjoyed watching. 👍🏼
A lot of silage wasted in your shed set up the cattle will pull in an a
Lot of it

If the farming goes belly up there's a career in advertising beckons. Very smooth concise presentatio
Did the holly that you hung get rid of the ringworm ?
That’s a great piece of kit Phil. Definitely save the aul back. Another fantastic video. The both of you are great together.
The way I put the bale on is I take off the wrap first, leave on the net then I put it on the hustler cut the net and wrap the net around the bars for stopping it going over the side and the net should wrap around the bar instead of the chain

My dad's boss used his on the tele to unwind bales silage and straw into the keenan feeder worked fine
“ you, bad back”😂😂
You right Tony nothing wrong there them bales are 😢
Great outfit Philip. You and liv are mighty .
Designed and Patented by a Cavan/ Baileboro man,
'HustlerRustler' 👍
Is your feed passage higher than your slats?
I think 2 bales, 1 each side might be a better job if ye go this route. Every day go there with tele and you'd get it in quick enough with practice
Ya,shed is too small for 2 bales a side..
That is a handy piece of kit Phil save everyone's backs
Hi farmer Phil that was a great job for the sliage in the shad to feed the cattle and buy a new one 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I have one on the back of my tractor and use a hydraulic top link for more height, fantastic machine no more forking
Hi Phil I don’t think I could justify 10000 for one of those for 200 bales does not make financial sense that sort of money could go way further spent elsewhere does what it says on the tin but god it’s too expensive
How expensive is back surgery??
Lad Ik your trying to save time by putting four bales in every other day but you would be better putting 2 bales every day so that there's not a big pile of silage in front of the cattle and there would be less silage going onto the slats and going into the tank and if any silage did go onto the slats go in pick it up so that the silage is not wasted
If you held the boom higher can you not move over a little so the silage ends up not going in the pit Phil
They are a great machine, we have been using one (different brand) for the last 8 winters. It's on the back of the tractor for most of the winter. You do need a wide feed passage if using it behind a tractor, and a hydraulic top link is also essential
I remember rolling out bales by hand for our shorthorn cows in our South Dakota pasture in the wintertime 🥶
Evening phil. Why not put half a bale on one side, then do the same on the other side and do the same all way along that way? You won't have to drive on the silage
Crackin pice o kit
Nice

Could you ask Johnson to put de easy on/off thing that's on de new one on de 2nd hand one so u could just buy the 2nd hand one
Good video how is the process on the back
Congratulations Philip
Nice piece of equipment Phil, is there room for all the animals to get to the rail at once?
Great piece of kit to save some back breaking work Phil
Did you ever think of just using a round bail cutter and backing in and cutting the round bail in half one for each side
Great machine
I bought one last year use all the time very handy on the telehandler like you.We use it for bedding too tend to loose the cattle out.We find it good as you can put a small amount of silage where you need it.Buy a new one you will be pleased with it.
Looking good machine save a lot of backache
Those machines are waste of money, drop d Bale with end facing the animals, come back the next day and shove it in. You can access shed from both sides.
Phil the Hustler😂
Hi Philip, go on put it on a tractor coz we're not as posh as you😅
Buy a Lely vector and stay in bed n mind the back😂😂😂
Be better to feed end bays then work yourself out rhe shed doing both sodes as you go. Instead of one side at a time
Great video Phil she’s some job
Brillant video Phil your quiet good at breaking machinery as well Phil 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 only messing phil
Good bit of kiwi gear. 👍🏻🐂🐄🔧🚜🇳🇿
Your a great sales rep 😂
Beautiful machine you could also fill it in the yard with your diet feeder and feed the one shed but you have to dump the feet outside and push in very cool thanks for sharing
Phil and liv, what a brilliant piece of kit. Hopefully, that will save your back, Phil 👍
Great video Phil I should get one of those for my loader
26 minutes of my life im not getting back
Nice setup, I guess feeding both sides as you move back is the way to go :) I would also think that it will roll off easier one way than the other anyway, because the bale is rolled together one way anyway :) But quite nice setup anyway. And if you buy a new one, I guess you can sell it again when it isn't necessary anylonger. But the onrolling in the field is very handy ;)
You’ll have some fun adjatating that shed
Jes the new tele is in shit, so is the gator. I thought he said he was going to look after and mind these 2 machines.....
nice
To bad there isn’t a remote button that you could push after you’d cut the first half of wrap off, could stay by bale and push to roll it over verse climbing back into loader.
Nice bit kit
Good video how is the back
And don’t forget Phil,,,,,,,Liv is expecting Santa 🤪🍻👍
Make up a triangle out of H iron and put hydraulic rams on each side, you're only wasting time with that yoke. And you'll probably still be spronging in.
That’s a great thing could that be used on the back of a tractor do you know.
We take wrap off then sit it on then cut 1/2 net off unwind the bale and pick net out of the passage .you are trying to put too much in the passage still a lot of graping
I'd always unroll the bales with the loader. Its a great job. Take a little bite off, roll it back and push it in.
It probably matters whether you're unrolling the bale in the direction it was made. It'd probably go quicker that way
Some job tho the bale slicer would be as handy in there
calves thriving well outside
Repeat after me - I’m going to leave the yoke back and get a 2 spring fork and tip away 😊
Buy a 3 grain fork , it'll help
now all ye cowboys want Liv to have a fork in each hand
buy one trade it in next year for new one see if you get payments down
One thing if it have a sideshift like on a forklift to see and give better view for feeding right
u are not fit siir
If you can afford to buy kit that makes work easier, then go for it phill
Just get a bale splitter and it will feed both sides and work ur way out of the shed with bales.
🇮🇪🇮🇪👍👍👏👏🙏🙏👌👌💪💪
Drop your bales in the passage way and roll them back with a grab. A smaller 5ft tine grab.... you can clean out waste silage, you can work the silage around. Serious job u should make a tyer pusher aswell ld save alot of forking work for diet feeder or bale silage ke with old slurry tank wheel
With the weight of the tele can you not drive up to other end of building Phil with the boom out, as turning the bale just use the boon in at the same time, surely that way you could do both sides without driving on the silage , just a thought 🍻👍
Half on the keft, hakf on the right.
Good bit of kit.. mind the back man.. but more importantly I’ve noticed you have a lot of reflux get it checked out..
You should try the bale splitter b4 you make the decision....just to be sure you have the right machine. A splitter like ifarmwefarm i mean. Should work in that passage well, but the hustler would work well to put a bale into the feeder at home, or even any of your passages without feeder at home.
You may aswell keep that one I'm sure theres 0% finance on it anyway
A grapple on a three ton minidigger I'm feeding cattle every day on forking needed
Nice machine Phil, save time and your back Liv will be doing it soon she is a fast learner.
Bale slice is als0 a good machine for a fraction of the price
Why not put the bales in the diet feeder you already have to feed them out?
Pull the wrap off before you drop it into the turner
Snowplough on the wee 520, she should be able to go up the middle on the second day
The bale has to roll off the way it was made if u don't it wont come off right u be 2 as long putting it out
did u pay for this
Surely Keltec would send ye a bale shear and some of the tub feeder manufacturers should send ye demo's of both at the same time, that looks a very slow way of doing it
Great tool don’t need to take off plastic on bottom with the barrel wrap stays onspikes
Your ad section would put QVC to shame, won't be long till you're getting a call to be a presenter on a shopping channel
The shed was the perfect width also any thinner might have had a few problems spreading the bale
Tell Liv a new one would be better for your back.
If the Wife likes it go get it because HAPPY WIFE HAPPY LIFE. Plus it looks like it's going to save you a lot of work and like anything else the More you use it the faster you will get and you will get better at dropping the silage where you want it.
Get a long knife like Laren M has will be easier
