Very interesting, thank you for taking the time to put boots on the ground to have a look into this. I've never seen anything strange there but that doesn't mean there isn't anything. And a ton of science is discovered just looking and investigating. So good on you mate. Well done.
When I was a young lad maybe fifteen I used to sneak out of my house to escape my chaotic family life , I used to go into the private woods between Cottingley and Harden in West Yorkshire and sleep in a hollow under and craggy outcrop of rock on a steep slope. One night around eleven pm I had a small fire going at front of the hollow and was dozing in my old envelope bag when I heard a rustle in the darkness ...I listened for a few seconds then started to doze again suddenly there it was again , I sat up and to my horror across the fire from me I was suddenly face to face with a very large long haired black German Shepherd dog ...it just sat there glaring at me for what seemed an age , I stared back frozen with fear and it bared its teeth letting out a very low deep growl then just walked back into the darkness . This experience was the most scared I have ever been ...fifty one now and still remember being paralyzed by sudden heart pounding terror I could not move even a finger nor blink or swallow. I dare not leave or stay (but stayed there all night) wide awake listening to every sound in the forest daring myself to venture more than a few feet to get scraps of wood for the fire so it did not go out. I never slept in those woods again. My friends would often ask why I would not play in there anymore but never told in case they thought I was nuts .
It could be that stories of werewolves are real events based on the kind of experience you had. I don't think people will believe until they see something with their own eyes. I have an open mind because I know some genuine people who have had paranormal experiences similar to what you have seen. Thanks for sharing, ATB

Fair play Damien you've got some balls on ya mate. I did a wild camp with a mate back in 92 in Kielder Forest. I remember us both waking up in the middle of the night, why I don't know, perhaps a noise. We both locked eyes in our tent and for a good 30-40 minutes we could hear a combination of branch snaps and what could of been footsteps close by. We both sat there listening in our sleeping bags, I had a Swiss Army knife and my mate had a bloody tent peg for defence! Anyway, we never did find out what it was, people we told said it was probably deer but I'm not convinced. Anyway, keep doing what you do Damien it's a pleasure to watch.
Deer are stealthy and won't make loud noises, it could have been other people wandering around, thats why I sleep under a tarp to see whats happening around the camp. There are people reporting unusual things around Kielder forest its a real mystery. Thanks for commenting, ATB
@@Fell_Wanderer Heard a few stories over the years about Kielder, mainly ghost related but I put a lot of that down to noises rather than people actually seeing things but you never know. It takes some balls to have an open tarp and being able to see what's there, I guess I'll stick to the tent unless I'm camping with you or a bloody great German Shepherd!
Like the video edit. Rawhead Rex, Bloody Bones, folklore. I tend to keep a eye out for the big cats my self. Seen their prints quite a few times off the beaten track, but only ever had two sightings in daylight in all my time. I see what you're doing with these video and its good. Keep it up Fell Wanderer. Its nice to hear the old forgotten legendary tails of folklore.
The thing that nips through bolam is the monks. My mate encountered one a while back. We used to go there for night hikes a few years back. He told me about the beast. And then the monk story. Apparently there’s a monastery nearby. I wild camped there 40 years ago 1979. I’m not even joking. Great to see a wanderer camp video though. I’ll be in touch to sort a meet up if ya keen.
Funnily enough there was a Buddist monk walked passed me when parking the car. I also heard they have a monastery nearby, I wonder if they have heard about the Bolam beast or even seen it. I'm keen on getting out more often but not bothered about hill camps, I have to much gear to carry with camera's, drone etc. If you want to do Kielder or somewhere local let me know Andy, ATB
Always good to watch mate shame you haven't found the wild beast yet...there are plenty of wild men living around us lol. Thanks for sharing keep up the good work
Thanks for watching Muss, I try to bring something different to each video and don't think there is a Bolam beast hunting video out there. I've noticed you're back out camping again which is good to see. I wil try and watch the video later, ATB
That wild man story...I heard it too it's scary.. Rumour is he goes about saying Wye eye like & sleeps out in the Wild. I even heard it has a whoop mating calls & eats chicken off the bone.... Leaves bananas & stuff in the woods out to temp victims or something...it's just stories though I expect...
Hi Damian, good to see you back out again, did a camp last night with the bairn in the local wood, to be awakened at 03.30 by what I think was a stag calling right outside the tent, I stuck it into UA-cam n I’m sure it was rutting but I’ve read up it’s not the season for rutting. Just thought you might of had an idea as to what it could have been. It was pretty weird to say the least. Cheers Andy!
I'm not used to camping in that area but I think all the sounds were just wild animals like you mention. Its still a bit unnerving when you hear noises up close. Thanks for watching
I remember stuff about the beast of Bolam being in the local paper years ago and at the time I think it was put down to one of the monks from the local monastery wandering around with his hood up near dusk. I’ve certainly seen monks here hanging around the place and I guess with your hood up at dusk you can be pretty easily mistaken
I did see a monk with an orange robe and anyone can misidentify something if they only see it briefly through the trees or in the dark. There is a monastery nearby I've been told. What intrigues me is, if someone wants to hoax then why make up a story that it was a tall dark creature with glowing eyes, which sounds too unbelievable and gives the witness even less credibility?
Firstly , anybody who has ever camped alone in the woods away from civilization HAS been at least spooked before ! Hope we get to see what the Trail cam caught . Been more than once where sounds woke me up in the middle of the night with branches snapping , leaves crunching etc . Normally fall asleep out'a exhaustion from the days activity multiplied sometimes by a brew or two . Nice video , "you know it was" and I am sure your loud manly whoops kept the Beast away :) Nice'n !!
The trail camera didn't catch anything and I have over 12 hours of audio to listen to. I quickly looked at the audio waveform peaks for obvious loud sounds and only heard birds. I might not go through the whole lot as it takes ages. I have heard strange noises in other places so know there could be something strange out there. Thanks for watching, atb
@@Fell_Wanderer Too bad on the cam. Heard a few odd things in the woods , nothing like a BF woop etc but odd . Yep "could" be , likely? Only the Shadow knows for sure ! :) atb 2 U also , love your vids ... gubs
G'day.. A strange looking place that's for sure, and I agree with the whole bird calls at night, other than owls they generally sleep has been my experience here in Australia. Cheers and God Bless
Was half expecting your mate Davy to pop up at some stage but it still turned out to be a good video bro. I think in this day and age most unexplained things have been checked out from all angles. Did anything abnormal turn up on your trail cam. All the best
The Cheviot Yeti is still hibernating lol.. The trail camera didn't catch anything and doesn't always trigger to record 30 seconds video and 3 pics, sometimes it only takes a couple of pics and the video will be corrupted, Thanks for the comment, ATB
Wow thanks for such an amazingly in-depth answer.I do a fair bit of wild camping myself and have had some what can only be called weird things happen.I believe we have become that detached from our true heritage because of modern money slavery that we are now out of touch with the Earth and the things on it.Hahaha I’m going wild camping in a few days and reading your reply honestly made the hairs stand on the back of me neck..Not only have a got to watch out for nature spirits but the daft old bill now with this scamdemic and tier 200 or something we are in at the moment.I think the latest rule is walking backwards while rubbing your head at the same time.Anyway thanks.Must tell you the reason I love your videos because there’s no other motive than enjoyment..Your not selling yourself showing of what you do for a living making dollars. Its just pure and in a world that’s lost it’s way due to greed and money I find it so refreshing. Also I’ve always said them Geordies are salt of the earth.Met quite a few in Durham nick a long time ago.hahaha.Our lass loves your videos as well.I am right about Geordie or is it maccum or sand monkey?I once lived in Redcar for a few years and called up to morpethonce..All the best.
Good vid mate love all the paranormal stuff especially wildman stories, tried a couple of whoops the other day in my local forest and I may of attracted something, the dog turned around quickly and was focused on something behind us, couldn't see anything we stood for a few minutes then carried on, heard tree breaks before down the same path very close, turned around nothing there, probably just a creature of the forest that was already around when we passed or could be something else. Look forward to your next vid. 🤘
You could be lucky and have found an active area, try staying out well after dark and see what happens. I think they are paranormal in nature and trying to film, trail cams, shine torches, do too much noise etc.. wont work.. just sit chill and invite them in. Better still do an overnight investigation, ATB
Nice one! Did the sound recorder and camera pick owt up? Love your paranormal vids, so entertaining. Couple of questions....do you have mud/snow feet on your folding chair? If so, where did you get them? When I use mine, it sinks!! Probably to do with me being a fatty though. Also, what drone do you film with? Footage looks ace. ATB Andy
The trail camera didn't catch anything and I have over 12 hours of audio to listen to. I quickly looked at the audio waveform peaks for loud sounds and only heard birds. I might not go through the whole lot as it takes ages. I don't have mud/snow feet on the chair so sat on the edge of a ground tarp. I have lost one rubber foot of the chair because it sank into the mud and couldn't find it. The drone is a Phantom 3 professional filming in 4K D-Log profile and downscaled to 1080p. Thanks for watching, atb
We are just down the road Damian, I’ve spent a lot of time there, there is definitely something very strange about the place especially the west and north side tracks.
The west side wood platform path is where the tall dark figure with glowing eyes was seen. I know one of the guys who seen it and seems very credible, ATB
I saw red eyes in a local wood 2 yrs ago, not an owl(eyes too far apart), not a deer ( too high up), the eyes were following me! Night time in a local wood near Gateshead, gave me a feeling of utter dread, not fear. Got out of there pdq.
Cracking video Damian that's a other places iv not camped in so will be having a look up there you like your paranormal stuff I think there has to be something out there somewhere always hear strange noises when I'm in a new locations 9/10 it's probably nothing but I have had that feeling that someone or something is watching me but just keep my knife and axe close by 😂😂😂 hope to see you at the meet next weekend bro atvb jimmy 😎 😎
I did a camp on otterburn training area in September last year obviously when no live firing was on but at 4am was woken with a section attack going in using blank ammunition. That was the straw that broke the camels back I’d never slept all night because I was eaten alive with midges so I bugged out to bolam and decided to cook my bacon for breakfast no hairy fuka with red eyes tried to nick it off me. But just as well the mood I was in!!!!!!!!!!!!!🤣
I do love your video's Damion and I know its for entertainment too but I'm gonna play a little devil's advocate here bud. Trail cams won't pick up thoud Big foot cause he knows about stuff like that haha and also the wildlife would go deathly quiet when Sasquatch is knocking about. Love your content and keep doing stuff like this but your a seasoned Squatcher, make the non-believers believe :-p
I’ve watched all your videos and I must say I love em.Please answer me one question, it’s the second time of asking after not receiving an answer first time.Ehat does the dell wanderer believe is up there harwood Nolan lake etc etc.Do you still believe or do you think hoax because I only ask cos I can tell you ain’t a bs merchant so I’m intrigued to know. Also something as scared you especially because you won’t sleep in harwood forest alone. Please try answer if you get a min.If you don’t want to answer me here I would be glad to send you my email.P.S keep the videos coming don’t let this scamdemic stop thee.
I believe and I use that word because I have no conclusive proof there is something paranormal in the forests and woodland of the UK. What they are, I don't know for sure but there may be more than one type of entity? Some say wildman, dogman, ghosts, spirits, aliens and demons, to name but a few. They seem intelligent and have the ability to hide from us so might be inter dimensional or have cloaking ability? I’ve met genuine and credible people who’ve had very strange experiences such as seeing creatures entering portals and glowing eyes. If they were lying, why risk the ridicule of saying something so unbelievable? They have spent years researching the subject so if they were hoaxing, why waste the time, effort and money on something not real, what have they to gain? It’s obvious to me they have had a life changing event which has put them on a journey looking for answers. I did stop camping alone in Harwood for a while but returned recently for a solo camp. I got a bit freaked out but realise if anything was going to do harm, it would have happened by now. The more I look into this phenomenon, the more I keep finding questions that need answering. All the things I’ve found over the years, like footprints, tree breaks, audio recordings etc... Individually isn’t much on their own but as a collection of evidence, points to something real going on? The last few camps at Harwood have convinced me there is definitely something intelligent and paranormal going on. When the audio recorder is picking up whispering and the word Christopher being spoken, a beer can crushed when no one else is around and my mat is vibrating underneath me. I have finally found the proof I need, but that won’t convince others who haven’t experienced similar things. I do recommend people doing the research and finding out for themselves.
Wood pigeons wing clap so it’s a good chance that’s what you heard, Bolam is a funny place, I always feel uneasy as if someone or something is watching you. You should listen to Sasquatch Chronicles on UA-cam think you might enjoy it.
A little bIgfoot sign in the background of films. Try baiting with dog kibble seems to work elsewhere, certainly an area likely to be active at the moment
Sounds a bit like the mothman of point pleasant back in the 60’s. Possible the story your telling and that one are both smoke from the same gun. Who can tell.
I don't put much faith is 'structures' or arches but at the same time I know there is plenty of strangeness in the countryside. Much of the reported noises can be explained by people camping out from the town who have no idea what nocturnal creatures sound like but actual sightings and reports of unexplained noises from people who know countryside and wildlife do have weight. It's one of those things - people have to actually experience something before they can accept or understand it so just ignore any of the idiots taking the piss about your interest in this subject.
It's a pain to inflate, but to deflate it, I found it is easiest to wedge the non-return valve open, then just leave my sleeping bag laying on top of it for a few minutes. One fully deflated mattress... You know it makes sense. ;o) Nice photography, BTW.
And what if, one dark and misty night... You're just at that point where you're not quite asleep.. And you hear something...something close...very close.. So you open your eyes and there..standing over you..is a huge..black..Thing..
I would be scared which is a natural reaction. I think that if these creatures are real would have had plenty of opportunitiy to get me as I've camped out alone in many remote places
Well that's the thing really..but if they are out there why assume they're out t getya... It'snot like there's a lot of people going missing on overnight camps and fishing trips is there..
Always enjoy your videos Damien, just a thought as birds go to roost the Stone banging together might be a Stonechat there sound just like to stones banging together. I would end up scarying myself with all that paranormal activities. Great stuff makes good viewing. ALB Mark
The birds were making noises all night which had me spooked. Never heard of a stonechat so will check them out. I used to walk my dog twice a week up at bolam lake. never again. the first time i seen those piercing red eyes through the night i shit myself on the spot. ill never forget that smell.

Me and 3 mates camped near lake one night got woke up about 2 in morning to roars il never camp it again respect damon for doin a solo ya a bigger man than me 👌😉
So Bolam might not be a natural lake just an old opencast, there is a quarry up the hill at the iron age fort. Loads of history there, Bolam comes from the Scandinavian word Bol which means hill
Oh if its paranormal...things will turn up, as your actions/intent can be an invite & that's all they need, it maybe not straightaway or even in the woods.
@@Fell_Wanderer sorry that's what I meant. Burning rubber pepels them. Also tracer rounds are commonly used back in Laos during the Vietnam war given by the CIA. My elder say only if they have fireworks it would scare the crap out of them.

P.s the downfall video pure genius. Its one of the best films ever made and your rendition is one of the funniest.Keep em coming lad away.
Great stuff Damian, always find your videos interesting with little bits of humour added atb Dave...
Your a brave blurk Damien, you must have trooble sitting doon with toon haals that big!
Great shots and share ..... new sub here 👍
thanks for watching and subbing, ATB
Nice one Mr Robson, funny and entertaining as always 🤘🤘
Fun entertaining video, thank you..
great to see you back mate
That wild man story...I heard it too it's scary..
Rumour is he goes about saying Wye eye like & sleeps out in the Wild.
I even heard it has a whoop mating calls & eats chicken off the bone....
Leaves bananas & stuff in the woods out to temp victims or something...it's just stories though I expect...
Diver Dan tapping trees 😂
Hi Damian, good to see you back out again, did a camp last night with the bairn in the local wood, to be awakened at 03.30 by what I think was a stag calling right outside the tent, I stuck it into UA-cam n I’m sure it was rutting but I’ve read up it’s not the season for rutting. Just thought you might of had an idea as to what it could have been. It was pretty weird to say the least.
Cheers
Andy!
I'm not used to camping in that area but I think all the sounds were just wild animals like you mention. Its still a bit unnerving when you hear noises up close. Thanks for watching
Omg can't wait to watch this
I remember stuff about the beast of Bolam being in the local paper years ago and at the time I think it was put down to one of the monks from the local monastery wandering around with his hood up near dusk.
Fell Wanderer it is very odd. Well, good luck with your hunt
Recently found your channel seems the lockdowns good for some things. Good content and you’re a funny man, thank you 😀
Firstly , anybody who has ever camped alone in the woods away from civilization HAS been at least spooked before !
:) atb 2 U also , love your vids ... gubs
0:57 is that duck wearing a helmet?
Not sure about the birds on your side of the pond but the duck looks an awful lot like an American Wigeon.
I'm not a bird twitcher so not sure what a wigeon looks like but there are many species of birds there and an interesting place to visit. ATB
@@Fell_Wanderer and Douglas for info "The Duck" ….. its a Eurasian Teal …. and it's in its breeding habitat up there with you Damien.
if not Davey it's Carlisle 195 looking for more outposts
Or Carlisle getting excited about the amount of firewood he found. The man is crazy about firewood.
Your a brave man Damien !
Haha!wild man.its only a dogger!
Nice drone footage
Great video Damian and also you are some banjo player lol
I’ve been up there at night very spooky and lot of tree structures
Great content mate i know how much time and research u put into this .respect for havin the balls to get out on a solo camp
Have you been out lately or made any films?
Just uploaded one today, hope to get out more in the next few days
Great once again👍 but what was that drinking straight out the stream thing in aid of?
To see what kind of a reaction I'd get off people in the comments, thanks for watching
Great videos keep up the good work what video editing software do you use
Premiere Pro CC 2018, thanks for watching
Good one a great yarn
@@Fell_Wanderer thanks mate will try an over nighter see what happens
if otters are on that lake , birds go crazy when they are on, especially water foul ,or ground dwelling birds, good work mate, cheers
It's not a wild man they've just seen ya mate Davey ...
fabulous!
good vid mate
ATB
Andy
Thanks Jimmy, I'm not in the Facebook group so didn't know there was a meet up and have not heard anything from John or Gaz. ATB
@@Fell_Wanderer it's on Friday to Sunday next weekend bro just turn up if ya what to come not a problem see ya Saturday night if ya come 🤘🤘🤘
It was you that was spooking them man lol
Hello, The bird's where possibly spooked because you was cooking birds wings 🤔 😃You Deffo sh@t you're under pants when that owl 🦉 called out. 😃✌️
sounded like a nearby rookery , they are always loud.
Really thought this video was going to be about a massive Pike in the lake
Once caught a jack pike with a diving plug at Bolam lake as a boy many moons ago. Thanks for watching.
Theres got to be something with all these structures they're the same as over the pond a bit smaller but the same.
I’m not far from Bolam and never heard of this, I’ll go when it’s daylight just in case 😂😂😂🤣👍🏻
A bit of Blair witch ,and Whistle and I’ll come to you .(ghost story ) comes to mind .Champion 👍🏕.
But just as well the mood I was in!!!!!!!!!!!!!🤣
Maybe it was you that was spooking the wildlife?
yes I believe it was me spooking some of the wildlife
Stay off the moors.................. 🤘
Wood pigeons wing clap so it’s a good chance that’s what you heard,
Bolam is a funny place, I always feel uneasy as if someone or something is watching you.
You should listen to Sasquatch Chronicles on UA-cam think you might enjoy it.
thank you I will checkout that channel you mention
A little bIgfoot sign in the background of films. Try baiting with dog kibble seems to work elsewhere, certainly an area likely to be active at the moment
No monsters, o'well better luck next time mate.
Sounds a bit like the mothman of point pleasant back in the 60’s.
Possible the story your telling and that one are both smoke from the same gun.
Who can tell.
botherer of the beast of bolam bothy
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I don't put much faith is 'structures' or arches but at the same time I know there is plenty of strangeness in the countryside.
Much of the reported noises can be explained by people camping out from the town who have no idea what nocturnal creatures sound like but actual sightings and reports of unexplained noises from people who know countryside and wildlife do have weight.
It's one of those things - people have to actually experience something before they can accept or understand it so just ignore any of the idiots taking the piss about your interest in this subject.
James Bolam must be chuffed to have a lake named after him. Maybe the beast is Rodney Bewes? He's the Likely Lad.
Have you popped your Lidl mattress?
I still have the LIDL mattress but prefer the Thermarest prolite for convenience of inflating/deflating, even though its not as comfortable.
It's a pain to inflate, but to deflate it, I found it is easiest to wedge the non-return valve open, then just leave my sleeping bag laying on top of it for a few minutes. One fully deflated mattress... You know it makes sense. ;o)
Nice photography, BTW.
Pondguru did a YT video about a scary experience up that neck of the woods (pun intended :-) ) makes me wonder if there really are things out there.
Off ya head but ide love a camp brill

And what if, one dark and misty night...
You're just at that point where you're not quite asleep..
And you hear something...something close...very close..
So you open your eyes and there..standing over you..is a huge..black..Thing..
I would be scared which is a natural reaction. I think that if these creatures are real would have had plenty of opportunitiy to get me as I've camped out alone in many remote places
Well that's the thing really..but if they are out there why assume they're out t getya...
It'snot like there's a lot of people going missing on overnight camps and fishing trips is there..
The aanly beast on bolam lake are the swan's
Its stig of the dump 😳🤣😂
Always enjoy your videos Damien, just a thought as birds go to roost the Stone banging together might be a Stonechat there sound just like to stones banging together. I would end up scarying myself with all that paranormal activities. Great stuff makes good viewing. ALB Mark
The birds were making noises all night which had me spooked. Never heard of a stonechat so will check them out. Thanks for the coment Mark, I tried those fire dragon fuel tabs on the Druridge bay camp in December and found them to be really clean with no sooty residue on the pot so thanks again, ATB, Damian
I used to walk my dog twice a week up at bolam lake. never again. the first time i seen those piercing red eyes through the night i shit myself on the spot. ill never forget that smell.
Sorry full of shit, Thought your mate yeti might have made an appearance. Very entertaining, If I see you in Aldi I will give you an intro look 🥴ATB Glen

@@johndavidson9985 Hey I have a question . You guys can't carry a gun to the field there can you ? I mean a handgun ?
So Bolam might not be a natural lake just an old opencast, there is a quarry up the hill at the iron age fort. Loads of history there, Bolam comes from the Scandinavian word Bol which means hill
The Firby Vikings might have lived there in the past
Oh if its paranormal...things will turn up, as your actions/intent can be an invite & that's all they need, it maybe not straightaway or even in the woods.
probably the smell off cooking bird !!!!!
red eyes.... sounds like someone dogging with night vision glasses on
There is a carpark which is a prime dogging area but they lock the gate at night, spoil sports lol
