What did you like and/or learn about Bernie's garden? The erosion control blew me away. And those views! Get detailed info and plant IDs on my site: debraleebaldwin.com/succulent-landscape/steep-succulent-slope/
@@QueenofSucculents we have a slope of our own but nothing this large. We understand the challenges and did something similar but with more Australian native plants. So grateful our slope is smaller!
I always enjoy seeing how people landscape their homes wherever they live, but I have to say the slopped property certainly gave him a task to ponder. Thanks for sharing his lovely place. I'm like you... wish it was me buying it!
What an absolutely beautiful and tranquil home. I laughed so hard at 7:45 when he said, "You're good girl. I've never had someone come in my yard that could identify plants." What? Excuse me, she is Debra Lee Baldwin, Sir!! LOL!!
Debra’s video of Bernie’s house was really wonderful and informative, that yard is a masterpiece and Bernie is not only a landscaping artist but also really knows what he is doing. Someone will be very lucky to purchase that home, talk about turnkey
It truly is a beautiful garden. I was really impressed with it the first time I saw it. Bernie has done a wonderful job with everything. It's a great property with a gorgeous home. Who ever buys it will be very lucky to get it.
Thanks for sharing this very practical introduction to Bernie's challenge of taking bare dirt and transforming it into a succulent "garden of Eden!" The way you two walked, talked, and took a tour of Bernie and Linda's sloped succulent garden...with the interview and dialogues of the overview, planning, and execution of Bernie's project (discussing the "before and after" challenges of creating a sloping drought resistant succulent area) hit on the necessities and obstacles one has to consider to end up witth a "succulent garden paradise" rather than a "hodge-podge" of different varieties and species that "just don't belong together!'" The "before and after overview," the discussion of planning, development, and implementation of his project were discussed in detail while providing a video of a project 22 years old that any potential succulent garden project candidate could use for inspiration "for making your own succulent garden come to life!" The links that recap "Bernie's irrigation," and visual IDs of the plant's that Bernie used, make this a "must see" for any of us aspiring succulent garden enthusiasts. Thanks Debra!
I hope the new home owners, whoever they are, keep up this magnificent garden. It is truly amazing! The mature specimens of Podocarpus and Aloe ‘Hercules’ are stunning !
I remember when there wasn’t a single plant on the property when they first bought it. Bernie had a vision and gradually transformed everything over the years, working on it nearly every day after he came home from his regular work. The back at one time was almost straight up just feet from the back door. Look at it now!
I didn't realize how close the bank was to the back door. It must have been big, hulking and intimidating. How cool that you got to watch the transformation!
Absolutely fabulous. I have about an acre of succulents, nowhere near as beautiful, but almost all of them came from my affiliation with the Palomar Catus and Succulent Society. Great shout out. Thanks for sharing.

Carefully planned and beautifully maintained. Bernie is and should be very proud of what he’s done there.

That's quite a review, Bobby. Thanks for the time and thought that went into it. I'm grateful and delighted!
This is a lovely garden. He really did create a flow through the slope, which is an incredible achievement!
Yes, especially when you consider that most slopes yell "I'm a really steep bank!" at the viewer.

I agree. It would delight me if someone who appreciates the garden gets the house. Thanks, Jane 😘
Beautiful landscape. That Aloe tree!!!
Hi Denise -- I know, right?!
Thank you for sharing. Bernie thoughtfully planned for his 45 degree slope and it proved to work successfully as well as being beautiful!
Thanks, Pat!

That house and landscape is so pretty, but why are they moving?
"For a new adventure and to be closer to grandchildren."
I was wondering the same thing. It’s a good reason.
