Stevie is such a likeable guy, and its like everybody knows him but he just somehow never seems to take off. My guess is that they really like him and wanted to help him. Of course they got some amazing free advertising, though I dont think they really need it.
The container stays in his throat aswell. Notice how his voice changes during that part. Some of his tricks are just sleight of hand & sleight of mouth, but some he actually swallows. His gas trick is still the biggest mystery.
