I recently graduated. Class of 2024. They played this song "Roar, Lion, Roar!" at the very end of the class day ceremony. Despite some difficulties along the way, my time at Columbia University I think was life changing. Congratulations to everyone who got accepted.

Congratulations to everyone that got accepted into Columbia. I was accepted, but I cannot attend it because insufficient financial aid was offered to me as a transfer to the School of General Studies :( . Now I am looking at top public schools. Based on my financial aid, I calculated that I would have to get in debt for $150,000 (without the interest) for only 2.5 years of study for just an undergraduate. My family does not have the resources, nor do I. Meanwhile, a local public university offers to pay my entire tuition. As I am planning to go to Law School, I decided it's not worth going into debt for $150k for an undergraduate at Columbia based on the information from the Department of Education College Scorecard. I wish more financial aid was offered to the School of General Studies students.
I feel for you dawg, there ain't nothing wrong with choosing a university that's willing to give you the resources you need (plus your degree!) over an Ivy League school because of prestige. I got into Columbia College this year as part of the Class of 2027 and was blessed to have gotten my costs covered because I'm broke lol, but I feel for people who have to pay that 89k a year.

Applied to Columbia as a transfer. I’ll come back to this comment when I receive my acceptance. If I forget to come back to this comment after I’m accepted just know it was all God, and that He will make a way if you have faith in Him and trust in Him with all your heart and follow His ways.
God doesn't exist like that. He is not a magical entity that will give you what you want if you just believe in him and his magic book with all your heart.
God is more like a feeling. An emotion.
And that feeling of connection with "god" only comes once you accept that you have absolutely no control of anything but yourself. The world is merciless and chaotic. Cruel. Karma doesn't exist. Justice is merely a coincidence, not a law.
It is only by coexisting in peace with this knowledge that you become grateful for what you have, and tranquil about the uncertainty of the future.
