Thousands of years ago sphinxes were among the most popular mythical monsters of the ancient world. The Great Sphinx at Giza in Egypt is the most famous of them all, but the origins of this strange mutant beast are shrouded in mystery. Why did the pharaohs depict themselves as mythical monsters with the body of a lion? At Luxor, archaeologists resurrect an entire army of sphinxes, built to guard Egypt’s powerful god, Amun-Ra. The Egyptians saw the sphinx as a living statue and a noble guardian but why did the ancient Greeks portray it as an evil man-eating monster?

In Old Egyptian language, the name of the Sphinx is 'Heru e makhathi' which means Heru higher up the sky.
In my language Nguni (or Zulu) the direct translation is 'Heru e makhathi" - exactly the same.
Old Egyptian: Hyksos = T'kz t directly meaning 'the kings outside' i.e foreign kings.
Nguni: T'kz t = Zi kozi 'ndle (tle). Meaning: the (Zi) kings (kozi) ndle (outside/backward/bush).
Old Egyptian: HiKu ka pta = the house of spiritual fathers/deity/ancestor.
My language: I-Ndlu/tlu ka bu-tata = the (i) house (tlu) ka (of) bu (proposition) tata (ancestoral spirits/fathers).
My people came from Khwezi in what is now South Sudan/Uganda in the Nile Valley.

There is a Deity called Ka-bu-ta and also link (connected) to Heru (Herun) and sametimes He is called Ka-bu-uh. It makes sense.
Heru is also another name for Horus, the god of kingship.

I believe it is far more important where it is located. Protecting the Pharoahs in the afterlife or Underworld. A Dog not a cat. Annubis was the God of the underworld.

What you guys don’t realize is that the great space used to be a lion head that match the rest of the body and it was made long before Egypt was around it’s very ancient and when the Egyptians came to power, they decided rather than throw this object away to carve the headof a pharaoh onto the lines body

Cats, including lions do not sit they way the Sphynx does. However, dogs do. I suggest the Sphynx is half jackal not lion, representing the god of the dead Anubis. Which would make sense as it's near the pyramids, which are the said tombs of the Pharaoh's.😊

@@CrashPK77 The Sphinx has a massively disproportionate head size to its body. When you consider how precise the "Egyptians" were with their statues, this makes no sense whatsoever. That alone should tell you that it has been recarved into the form it takes today.
If you superimpose a Jackel in this posture over the sphinx, you will find that its much more in proportion.
Also, it is wwritten in hieroglyphs somewhere, that Khufu REPAIRED the Sphinx.

The erosion on the Sphinx doesn't match the erosion on the Pyramid that it is "associated" with and supposedly made in the same time frame. Not to mention it's already documented in written history that the Sphinx was buried for several years while the pyramids were not. So how do you explain the difference in condition desides the cover stones being removed? There's a possibly they were made at different times.

Anyone who thinks the Sphinx at Giza wasn't adulterated from the head of a jackal's, or lion's head has never stood in front of it. The head is completely out of scale with the body & of different carving methods.
