    Pin-Bot is one of my favorites! I think it may be Sam's single favorite pinball machine--she doesn't go for pinball much, but when we were at Funspot she got engrossed in the goal of opening Pin-Bot's visor and getting the balls in the eye locks.

      It's a very well designed game, I'm surprised they don't still design games with a gimmicky goal like that, it's easy to understand what you're trying to do and it's very visual.

    I commented on this a few months back.. Yours looks to be in great shape. There was someone reproducing the solar light for the topper. Also had noticed someone was remaking the vortex for bonus ..jackbot uses a black one for vortex.
    This was my second pin that I played when I first got into pinball. I would love to find a nice one. High speed was my first and I have a nice one..
    I love the classic sounds.
    Thanks

    Nice Pin-Bot, looking forward to seeing it's progress.
    I can't believe somebody took the time and effort to isolate and (cringe) solder that hodge podge of a battery pack rather than just get a 99 cent battery pack and... ohhhhh never mind, some hacks just defy logic. LoL

    There's two tricks I can give you. On the dual wires, make sure you run them all the way to both ends of where they connect, otherwise you're only moving the problem to where both wires meet the single wire. The other trick is on the solder joint. Where the pin or wires poke through the board. Put some flux on the solder joint and use a rounded solder tip that has a hole in the middle. The hole in the tip should be just a little bit bigger than the pin or wire poking through the board, then re-flow it. The flux combined with just a little fresh solder and the hole in the tip will make the joint look factory and give your a superior solder joint at the same time. Usually you can get a rounded holed tip from a solder sucker, heck you can even use the solder sucker, like I do, to resolder the joint. Just don't suck it up, put in on it, re-flow it and you're done. Nice shinny quality solder joint that looks and is good or better than a factory solder joint. Thanks for the nice show Joe look fwd to seeing and hearing it run. Best Wishes n Blessings. Keith Noneya

      We kept having an issue where it's hard to plunge all the way to the top anyways... we rebuilt the shooter rod and still never got it perfect. Reading around online it looks like a lot of them end up that way...

    Kind of a dumb question, but what came first the Pin Ball game or the NES game?

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  4 роки тому +2

      The Pinball machine was designed first, and it was so successful they couldn't resist making a video game version of it.

    • @EsotericArctos
      @EsotericArctos 4 роки тому

      I don't think NES was around in 1986. Well, it wasn't here or in Europe anyway :). Might have been in North America in 1986.

    Hi Joe,
    I like your vids. The battery idea is good 5:55, keeps the from leaking. Todd at TNT use lithium batteries which might make for a cleaner solution. Check out his vid, ua-cam.com/video/yJ34I02MlIk/v-deo.html

    I don’t understand the Mylar what’s it matter which one gets tore up if u wreck the art under it trying to get it off to replace it seriously

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  2 роки тому

      It's supposed to protect the paint underneath, operators loved putting it on since it's thick, so it would get all messed up and dull but you could still see the artwork... you just can't take the shit off of it destroys everything, lol Thanks for watching The Dugan 1 !!!!
