My vision is also sliiightly off, I can see só great but that tiny bit off, I’m hoping it will improve, my doctor told me there will be vision fluctuations for a few days to a couple of months, but I’m glad I’m not the only one to have this

  • @soundmanpt
    @soundmanpt 3 роки тому +3

    Having been an optician I'm always interested in hearing from people about their lasik experience. One thing you said in your video that isn't quite true even though I understand why you think it. You weren't both nearsighted and farsighted. You were nearsighted but as your prescription increased from year to year and you were wearing glasses for everything which included things up close such as reading and studying. Your eyes were becoming more and more dependent on your glasses for everything and you no longer were as able to read without your glasses anymore. But you your eyes didn't become farsighted. They just adjusted your glasses prescription. This happens to nearly everyone once they start wearing their glasses all the time. I always told new patients that were nearsighted that they should take their glasses off when doing anything close such as reading for that very reason. If you were3 really nearsighted and farsighted you would have been wearing bifocals or progressives instead of single vision glasses.
    You're still getting used to being able to see so good without glasses or contacts and I'm sure you love waking up in the morning and being able to see everything so clearly as soon as you open your eyes without first having to put on your glasses to even see the clock. I'm guessing by now your eyesight is probably somewhere around 20/15 or even 20/10 now. What a difference from not not even being able to see the big "E" on the eyechart in your doctor's office without glasses. Now you can almost read where the eyechart was printed down at the bottom in really tiny print. Since you wore contacts most often I'm wondering if you will ever miss not wearing glasses in the future? I have been amazed over the years at how many people, mostly women, say they miss their glasses. They have told me that they actually liked wearing glasses. What they didn't like was not being able to see anything without them. Several even managed to get the doctor to prescribe them with weak glasses for night driving even thought their eyesight was still no worse than 20/20. Funny thing, going from being 20/10 or 20/15 down to what we generally consider as being perfect 20/20 is like someone going from 20/20 to 20/40. So doctors are prescribing glasses because of that just to sharpen things up a bit for them. Do you think you may miss your glasses in a year or two?

    • @virtualsparkie
      @virtualsparkie 3 роки тому

      I thought they were prescribed glasses at night due to the halos/starbursts side effect which is really noticeable at night. That's my main concern in getting lasik atm.
