What a beautiful version of this classic. The 1973 original that I grew up with is one with magic that'll never be replicated. I love the total mood whiplash between this and the psychedelic boat scene (it was the 70s, everything was psychedelic so it worked). I heard that when Gene Wilder started singing on the boat it was unexpected and surprised the children actors.
