  • --------REVIVE AND FIX YOUR CHEAP SYNTHETIC WIG -------
Watch me save my synthetic wig from certain death and make my wig look Brand New. This wig was a year old and moved with me to 3 countries. No wonder it looked like a dead cat. After trial and error, I figured out the perfect way to fix any old stiff synthetic wig fast and bring it back to life with some gorgeous curls.
I show you how I detangled this wig, my method for washing synthetic wigs, and how I put the loose waves back in any synthetic wig. Basically, all the steps I take to keep my synthetic wigs soft and beautiful.

If you don't have a steamer then while the hair is damp or wet apply 300-330 degree heat on it using an iron, and the same effects will happen. Synthetic hair is fiber so like clothes it can be flat ironed with water to get the wrinkles and frizziess out of it. It also helps to use silicone mix, it works better than fabric softner to me

wash: warm water, laundry detergent pod, plain laundry detergent, fabric softener (for the end frizzes) wash in a downward motion to keep straight. Add extra fabric softener for the ends if ended 1:55
    Let it dry
straightening + smoothing: steam as you brush through the wig. if you dont have a steam CAREFULLY use an iron as suggested by other commenters 2:50

Thank you I have tossed so many of my synthetic hair wigs because I found out just washing them and flat ironing them was lasting on a few days plus I was using regular shampoo and conditioner. I am certainly going to invest in a steamer and try the pods and fabric softener.❤I tried the boiling method myself and that was a disaster.

I just use a 1” curling iron to redefine the frizzy waves by wrapping sections of hair around the entire closed barrel after clamping down on the tips to smooth them out. A spritz of water helps with smoothing and curling #tfs 😃

Have a cheap wig. I didn't even have it for long but it gets frizzy and knotted with a little movement. Wash it in fabric softener, came out even worst.😭😭
What am I to do? I search UA-cam for videos and found yours. Its already clean and I have a little hand held steamer. Took me hours because the wig was very frizzy, dry and matted.
The steamer is a GOD SEND for cheap synthetic hair. It is now drying looking like I flat ironed it. It looks do shiny and sleek. I will curl it and see how it comes out.

Steaming the hair with rollers in makes them damp. Too much for a synthetic. If cared for and stored properly you won't have those issues. I have a synthetic for a year. Never wash my units, I use dry shampoo. To straighten I use a ceramic flat iron and some Carol's Daughter Mimosa pomade. It makes the hair soooo soft and works great with heat. I recently had to cut ends off a unit Ari 24, she's very curly. I sat in front of my mirror and took my time curly the hair with a 1" curling iron. But to each it's own. But that 45 minutes to comb out...no mam. LOL
