Back in the day when the whole country would watch the FA Cup final because it was the only league game shown live on TV. Took TV execs and the FA another decade until it twigged that people liked to watch live football on telly and would pay to do so.
Always used to look forward to these finals, no matter who was in them. Unfortunately, a great many of them were dull boring affairs, including this one. Spurs V Coventry was one of the exceptions. Lpool V Everton twice were another 2.

The FA cups of the 70s were great , great teams great players great atmosphere and even the commentators were the greatest
The halcyon days mate, even the league cup meant something, Tuert 76 as an example.

Pity bobby Moore wasn’t playing for us Hammers that day, what a legend RIP⚒
The last club to win the FA Cup with an entire team of Englishmen. That won’t ever happen again.⚒🏴
Interesting.. maybe an all British team might do it again like a Newcastle one day maybe 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴
Worth watching just for David Coleman's commentary.

No gloves, like the ultra padding protection of todays goalkeepers. It must have felt like getting "six of the best" on the hands.
it looks wierd though dam i remember gary bailly not wearing gloves when the other keepers started wearing them
It really didn`t hurt that much at all.And much easier to catch the ball with bare hands too.
