The development of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. Footage of the live action storyboard, the concept demo, alpha and beta versions (with cut content) and more.
It's impressive that japanese staff of capcom always manage to write all the stories of RE based on western culture and characters and it never feels awkward at all
It just fascinates me the amount of time, energy and effort that goes into even the tiniest of details. From creating a character to how a pipe or crumpled piece of paper looks to the very sound of broken glass or flesh being stabbed. Even the rehearsing of the dinner table scene with Ethan and the Baker family. The lengths they went to perfect these concepts. I find the process fascinating and it makes me appreciate this game and their games a lot more.
Storyboards are for planning scenes out. They are not for giving a preview of the final product. If you genuinely think a storyboard is the final factor in story-writing you clearly have no clue how writing works.
Shit like this is why the devs, artists and programmers should get the multimillion dollar bonuses execs claim for doing basically nothing. This is nothing short of superb, and I'm not even a RE fan.
So I trust you want to pay 120 bucks instead of 60 then? Because those bonuses come from somewhere and that would be their buyers. Also a ridiculous oversimplification that execs don't do anything. They get their bonuses for a reason.
