Hello there! I’ve been recuperating from bilateral (two) knee replacement surgery early in August. As a keen cyclist like you, Ive missed my riding but your videos on UA-cam have been great therapy for me. Just wanted to say thanks for all the trouble you go to putting the clips together. Cheers Gerard (Melbourne, Australia)
Hi Gerard, thank you very much for your lovely comments. I'm so glad that my videos have been of help to you whilst you are recovering from surgery. Making the videos can be quite a lot of work, as I'm sure you appreciate, and when I know that people like yourself get enjoyment from watching them it makes all the hard work very worthwhile. I hope your recovery goes well and you are soon back out cycling. All the best, Dave
@@davidbenson735 hi Dave and thx for replying. I do know the trouble it takes to put these videos together - video editing never was no strong suit! Hey to treat myself I bought a gravel bike just before surgery and take possession mid-October (our spring) so your various bikepacking trips help me work out what to pack etc! Cheers Gerard
I like videos that show me parts of the UK I've not cycled (I'm a Southern Softie!) No shame in walking, it's my lowest gear and now at 80 I use it more often. Nice video, thanks for sharing. I've subscribed so I can see more rides like this.
Enjoyed the journey in the Peak District. I'm 81 and walking beats doing a headfirst dive over the handle bars. I live in the Geographic center of the USA. Far away from trees to break the Spring winds that go all day from 20 to 40 mph with gusts somedays to 60 mph. By the first of May it should be safe enough to take a solo weeklong river valley tour.
Thanks Tom. I don't mind cycling in the rain or when it's cold, but cycling in a headwind really sucks. I hope you manage to do your river valley tour. Cheers...👍🏻
Hi great video I am the old fellow on the bike in our house 70 years young and like you I am still riding alone you are luck no canal paths of Bridleways here just the tough old roads of Ireland. Take Care.
Thanks for that. Like the saying goes "You don't stop cycling because you're getting old, you get old if you stop cycling". All the best, and keep enjoying turning those pedals.
I totally agree there, only once have I been unable to get through a closure. Also, there is usually a way of squeezing through on a bike, so I always have a look first before taking the diversion.

A grand day out. We're at edale at the weekend so we may head to the Monsal trail. Kids will love tunnels. Thank you 😊
Thanks for that...👍
Hope you have a great time in the Peak District.
Love your satnav 😂😂 you certainly don’t let the terrain put you off do you? 👍👍
Thanks Paul, glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for commenting...👍🏻

Thanks for that. It's a great area for both road and off-road cycling, I can highly recommend it.
Great video you should be a tour guide love the country side
Thank you 👍🏻
You are right, the Peak District is an amazing place.
The amount of times that paths have closed signs but are open, especially on weekends, no wonder cyclists like us try their luck.
