- The full Monsal Trail in under 3 minutes.
8½ miles long, originally built by the Midland Railway in 1863 the trail runs along the valley of the River Wye in Derbyshire.
This video starts from the Bakewell end passing through numerous points of note including Hassop Station, Great Longstone, Monsal Dale, Cressbrook and Millers Dale to name a few...
The trails carries us over the ominously named Headstone Viaduct and passes through six epic tunnels.
There are two cafe's en-route with friendly helpful bike shops offering refreshments and cycle hire for the whole family.
If you visit, take a camera! & remember ❶❶❷ is the EU Emergency number to call in case of emergency, when there's no mobile service 112 might save a life!
Dog walkers, please be responsible and clip on a lead through the tunnels. Nobody wants to hurt your dog but it can take a few seconds for a cyclists sight to adjust from light to dark on entering tunnels.
Better safe than sorry - from one dog lover to another 👍🐶🧡🐾
PEACE 🙏

Many thanks ✌
I'm doing this with my brother next Saturday. 4 May. May the fourth be with us.
this looks a good ride! Just need to find someone to go with!
Nice video mate, looked a nice bike trail that 👍
Thank you my friend 👍 If you've never visited I can highly recommend the Asbourne walk along the Wye and up onto the Monsal Trail - less well trodden & more wildcamp potential 😉 ATB
Those tunnels look really fun to ride in!
It's an awesome trail mate, with a start & a finish. 8 miles long you travel the old victorian railway through all the tunnels, over a viaduct with views into the valley. Well worth a visit. Two cafes on the route & two cycle hire shops too. Whem it's 30 derees outside the tunnels feel like the arctic 😎😉 Brilliant day out for a family too 👍
@@StevePikePhoto if I ever make it across the pond I will have to check it out!
@@TheGrantAlexander I'd be very happy to give you a guided tour - if you check the Monsal Dale Wild Camp video I posted recently you see the area from the valley that this series of tunnels cuts through... That's too many words sorry 😂 It's a lovely place & ever you visit come for a coffee.. some secret places of hidden beauty down here 🙏✌
Not so good to walk in when an entitled cyclist hammers through without any lights on his bike .....
@@jimusgrimus Should have clouted the git!!
