Actually suede doesnt get damaged when wet, but it is because the suede being pressed, so just need to use a brush to brush off the pressed area, a lot of people scare to clean suede but it is pretty easy when you have the right products to clean it. Tons of info on UA-cam.
I ordered a 1976 Pontiac Grand Safari Station wagon with brushed suade leather seats. They was so comfortable and wore very well during the 10 year period I owned it. Had 3 kids, the suade seats survived 3 kids extremely well😊
I had a suede leather jacket for 15 years. It held up really nicely, just that the color faded and it got a bit spotty. However, at the end, the ends of the sleeves became brittle and cracked. Still, when you think that it saved me from buying a jacket for this long, then it becomes actually cheaper than most jackets... Especially looking at those that fall apart after 1-2 years...
Suede jackets are beautiful. You are right that it is also durable. However, compared to leather it is not. Leather jackets can last decades when these are maintained well.
Suede is nice but definitely prefer the leather. I like the patina aspect the most and the fact it just last a really long time. I got a DBrand leather skin on my phone and it’s been nice watching it change every single day.
Is Foam lather also a Suede? Foam lather purses, bags are quite cheap but not as tough as lather. Some lather is so hard that it is difficult to use on day to day basis. Kindly explain.
rather than comparing smooth leather and suede, it's better to compare Suede VS Nubuck Vs Roughout, as those 3 have somewhat similar look but massively different property.

Leather bed sheets last much longer than Suede, but are not so comfortable.
