      or the first thing to do to fix, is to purposely break the head stock off and have it correctly attached, better yet if that said company would just sell the damn guitar with the head stock either not attached, or use an epi made neck then the problem would dissapear. lol shame, go to music store, drop 3000 usd on a LP just to take it to a repair shop and say hey, can you rip the head off this thing and make it right.

      Ya but for only 3-10x the price you can get one made in the US that consistently over the last decade has produced an excessive amount of faulty examples. So many vids with dissatisfied owners pointing out the flaws on their multi thousand Gibsons. Missing binding, uneven finish, rough fret edges and of course the same electronic techs from the 60's. Why would you want a flawless, superior, replica for way less money? Why drive an affordable efficient vehicle when you could drop $80K on a giant V8 that barely makes 60hp/L??? #Murica

    Really nice intro, I love it. The Japanese really crushed the market a few years back with very close approximations of Fender and Gibson guitars. If you know the history of the market, and most people do, Fender basically gave it all away to the Japanese. I have a Tokia Strat, style guitar made in the 80's that rivals my 62' USA re-issue by Fender. They continue to still make nice stuff , but under their own brand names, like ESP for example.

    My first guitar was an early 70s Ibanez lawsuit Les Paul. My parents gave it to me in 77. It was beautiful and sounded amazing. In 88 I traded it for a Fostex 4 track which may be the worst trade of my life considering that today you can find the same 4 Track for around $50 dollars or less and the same guitar starting at around $1000 dollars or more. I wish I had kept that guitar. Side Note: The killer 20 watt vintage Gretsch tube amp they gave me with the guitar,I gave it away. That same amp is selling for about 2 grand today. Live and learn!

      My comment was a broad stroke comment for those who didn't pick up on it. One thing I do agree on is marking a product for example "Chibson" with lettering that is very obvious to mislead customers, yes this is wrong in every sense. Be that as it may, a shape of a product is hardly a "Trademark" or patentable thing, otherwise the builders of acoustic guitars would be screwed. For example if you look at Martin, Gibson, Ibanez ect ect ect the list goes on and on forever with new ones cropping up every year; all of their standard acoustic guitars are shaped the same, not all the exact dimensions are the same of course but generally the so called "creative design" have all been copied over and over for over a century. What CAN be trademarked is yes a name and or a specific method of wiring a pickup coil or wiring the components in a certain way so to speak, another broad stroke to cover a lot of ground quickly here. If shapes were patentable I would be a rich man and wouldn't even bother replying to such silly comments. I do own a company and people copy my ideas and methods all the time in addition they attempt and sometimes do steal my customers. What keeps one from running around pissed off all the time is the pride in the highest QUALITY of products and service I can possibly provide to my customers, THAT is what is in a name. Like I said before the argument has become quite a bore in my opinion. When a company with any name, sacrifices the once impeccable quality they once had for profits on the bottom line customers will go elsewhere. In the beginning it was Quality that made the Gibson name. Do your research before you purchase, there are excellent serial number resources right at your finger tips to authenticate an instrument. Once again to reiterate previous opinions, marking something such as the word "Chibson" for example is wrong and misleading agreed, the rest well that's always been up for grabs , do a little homework and open your eyes a little before you start trying bash someone you don't even know. Been in business for over 30yrs and about to retire from all this crap, when you have been in business that long you do have a different "viewpoint" and you open your eyes and get a grip or you don't survive.

Sure it sounds petty on that last one, but when you're paying for a custom shop Gibson, minor flaws like that are unacceptable. They stopped caring about quality years ago and live off their name only. Buy a Gibson made before 2000 if you want one.

Younger fingerstyle guitarists (Sungha Jung, S. Korea and Gabriella Quevedo, Sweden) are terrific. Bringing their sounds to advanced equipment, electric and acoustic, primarily in studio, is my core interest. (I'm not forgetting many more artists, but these two UA-camrs are familiar.)

    • @9imack
      @9imack 6 років тому

      If you dig that classic British 'crunch' tone then I think you're hard pushed to beat Orange. I've got a Marshall Superlead 1959 & a 1968 Vox AC30 but I prefer to use one of my Orange heads through the Marshall cabs. I've got a 1974 OR 100w, an '80s Rockerverb 50w & a TT from about 10 yrs ago. The crazy thing is, even with all the other gear, the TT gets way more use than all the rest 'cos it's 15 or 7w (so you can use it at home without putting all the neighbours windows through & them calling the police on you lol) & it just does that 'Orange tone' so incredibly well. The only thing I'd prefer is if it had an fx loop but I guess you can't have everything (curiously the Dark Terror does have one though).

And this far i have found quite little to motivate buying a big brand (Fender, Gibson or what have you). Yeah, they have nice quality, but not pay 4-10 times as much nice.
    I get much more out of buying a knockoff that feels good in the store, tweaking it to suit my needs and as a added bonus, i dont have to be in constant fear of banging up a 2-3k USD guitar.

Companies like Burny, Tokai and Greco are known for making copies of iconic American guitars so well they surpassed the quality of the originals so much they literally forced Gibson and Fender to up their game and are even credited by many for Gibsons decision to start producing reissues since that's basically what these companies were doing.
