1000 years from now, someone, somewhere will be still shooting AK47!
In the War World series of military SciFi stories, AKs are still being made and used on a lost planet, circa 3000 AD.
As long as there is ammo...yup!!
In one of the Doctor Who episodes. A TV show about a time traveler, he went to a year billion trillion and beyond and he met guys still using AK-47s.
Amen to Mikhail Kalashnikov
There’s an AK variant in the 5th Element. LOL
Fake, the real one would have been playing the glorious leaders voice when shot
ng jason the real one only shoot ammo that forged from kim's ball
*The Supreme Leader likes this comment*
We praise him.....
*BANG!* "UIDAHAN RINDOJA...-" *BANG* "....KIMM JONG....-" *BAM*
The real one would pretend to work. probably has no working mechanisms in the real DPRK models lol
Ammo is made In USA so you can't hear about glorious leader voices, if you using north Korean government issue ammo you can hear the voice
Poor thing hasn't had a real meal since 1954.
Jimmy Vinson it’s North Korean what do you expect that’s why they come to the west
No, it has been used to shot his own people
lmao that thing bring from vn war
The gun was first manufactured in 1958, what do you mean 1954?
@Richard Johnson Too bad he aint shooting el cheapo steel cased ammo like papa mikhail intended
Man if that gun could talk ...I bet it has some crazy stories! Excellent video quality as always sir! Thanks LAV! ✌
@Azrael ...well ...he said it was a Vietnam war bring back. Our government used to allow that. Trophies of war if you will...and I would say it was taken off of a enemy after a battle or fire fight. I doubt the Vietnamese soldier just handed it over...it may not have been used much or could have killed several US soldiers? Only the rifle knows! ✌
yep, especially it was lot difficult for an AK to being brought back from Vietnam War compared to something like an SKS and bolt actions rifles, the process of taking it back alone would already be pretty interesting
ya no kidding. who many hands has this been through?
If that gun could talk, it would be tied to a post and shot for talking to westerner.
budster mcgreen since it looks in good condition, it might simply have been taken from a VC/NVA supply cache.
That S&B is probably the nicest. Ammo that's ever been run through that gun.
Alex Duke “Broke ass” is irrelevant. Those communists simply inherited the Soviet Union’s tech of lacquered- steel cartridge. And I am certain the Soviets were never “broke” when it came to military budget. They just wanted it to be lacquered steel instead of brass.
@@alexduke5402 the pros of lacquered steel far outweigh the cons. You forget what Soviet doctrine was back then.
Yeah; somehow those beautiful brass-cased cartridges just didn't look right. :p
Right?!
I mean, there's nothing "Wrong" with steel cased ammo in a gun that was designed for it.
Alex Duke But somehow the Kalashikov platform has been known for 70 years as a most reliable and durable design, firing mostly that “make-no-sense” steel cartridges all day long. You might wanna look more into it to get a better understanding. Difference does not mean inferiority.
I have shot it when I was serving in 705th Commando(S. Korean army). I remember it as type 68. Nothing special but I couldn’t understand how N. Korean AK end up in our regiment.
@Sanha Lim - They are called Defectors who relinquished their weapons
I am no expert but if you ever have to use their weapons in case of a war between North and South Korea, it is best to know how it handles.
Oh wow, i served for 707th smb. Weird to see someone else who served to comment.
Sanha Lim did you guys use captured AK’s in combat?
@@sanhalim8172 he is making a reference to rainbow six siege lmao. 707th has operators in the game.
Never been a AK guy, but that kinda just changed a little.
The story that rifle could tell.
damn dude looking good! thats a lot of weight you've lost in a pretty short amount of time. nice
Impressive indeed. Must've went keto or something.
Not surprised afterall he is a Delta guy.
Yep, looking good!

Amazing Larry "recoil master" Vickers
I wish he make a video he spray the brand new Russian AK-308 lol :))
damn more than 60 years old, still firing like new
my vz. 58 was made in the year 1963. Still kicks ass :)
@DSW22 Strj nope, I am a native czech citizen ;) It was probably stored in some czech/slovak military depot. It has been
repaired by the VOP (www.vop.cz/?intLang=1), there are some marks on the crown of the barrel.

I'm from South Korea. It is still a rifle operated by the North Korean military, as several South Koreans wrote below. It was introduced in North Korea in 1958, and personally, the AK family seems to be a masterpiece for good beyond the ages. Even now, the North Korean military is confronting South Korea's K2 rifle at the border and DMZ with that gun.
AK is still pretty deadly
K2 is better than NK type 58

Chinese Type 56 AK rifles are more common.
Interesting to see the difference between a milled AK and a stamped AK in slow-mo.
Where the stamped AKs wobble and flex, the milled appear rock steady.
I just picked up on that same thought 😅
The way the rear sight jumps in the slo-mo sequences when the bolt is at its rearward-most travel make me giggle. Also, Larry is crushing the weight loss!
Imagine owning a gun that's from North Korea and used in Vietnam, that's some real history.
Served in ROKArmy 12th Mountain Div Special Recon. We used to be deployed in these bunkers called ‘GP’ located inside the DMZ itself, serving as the frontline sentinels.
Before every deployment recons go through training sessions, and that was the moment i got my hands on these 58AKs (58식 자동보총).
Since South Korea is a NATO affiliated nation, every single soldiers are familiar with 5.56 rounds, so that was the only moment that few of us got to experience the kick and firepower of the 7.62
I remember some of my squadmates saying “can our plates even block these?” since it was nothing like the smallarms in our arsenal
Did you guys ever get your hands on those weird NK PKM type Squad automatic weapons with the Mag on top?
crooklynsince1983 Yes indeed. It was called Type74 Battalion Machinegun. Can be both belt-fed or mag-fed that goes on top of the receiver.
The standard issue SAW we use were K-3 LMG, which is basically a licensed copy of American M249. And trust me, it jams like bitch and overheats like hell.
While Type74 didn’t have any jamming issues while I squeezed down the trigger for full 50 rounds.
I can confidently say that these North Korean firearms, they are old in design but they are reliable.
Soviet weapon designs are no joke
Any experience with North Korean 5.45 AK (Type-88/98) or the rifle grenade for the 7.62 AK?
Phuri I assume you are taking about the Grenade Can adapter for the Type88 Carbine?
No we didn’t get to get our hands on those. But I saw a good amount of 88AKs while standing guard at GP. Many DPRK soldiers were handling it.
@@echonova3125 the thing with western weapons especially the U.S is the emphasis on complicating the design
That's why I admire soviet weapons . Crude yet brutally reliable
Still relevant weapon despite its age… Good video as usual!
Not only relevant but also an extremely potent weapon in the hands of a trained person specially during CQB situations.
Yeah, and I guess there's the type 58 that being held by it

@@kchinsuanlal9621 I doubt that. Firing a bigger bullet does fuck all if you can't hit anything. AKs reputation is over rated. Those things can't even work when caked in mud contrary to popular belief whereas the M16 could.
North Korea followed USSR until 1990, it didn't have a good relationship with China till 1995, before 1990, all their tech and aid came from Warsaw pact countries.
North Korea almost collapsed in the 90s when USSR food aid was cut due to USSR itself collapsing.

Doesn’t matter how old that AK is, you know it will get the job done.
A fully transferable machine gun from North Korea that fought in Vietnam. Man, that rifle is worth its weight in gold.
In the next 100 years from now, that AK type 58 is still going to fire just like that(as long as there's ammo being made,7.62×39mm).
the editing, music, and everything about this video is sick! shout out to who ever films and edits these. amazing work

I'm surprised there is even a block option.
A good friend of mine has a type 58 Vietnam bring back identical to that. Same jungle patina and all. It even has the paperwork saying it was taken from a sniper team of 2 that was eliminated. one man had the type 58 the other a Dragnov SVD... he bought the gun for $3,500 in 1994... I believe they go for $50,000 on up now... not a bad investment!
would it be possible for your editors to go back to using the audio from the range? These canned gunshot sounds are really offputting
Vietnam bring back, huh.
"Never been fired and only been dropped once" A quote from Full Metal Jacket.
I have fond memories of the AK. It brings me back to the Army days. In Afghanistan, our boys that were issued with Beryl (a Polish 5.56mm NATO version of AK) actually started going back to AK's in 7,62 M43. But that says very little. We were Mechanised Infantry even people as dumb as we could not break an AK in 7,62. Another example of "they don't make them like they used to."
Cheap, reliable, heavy, easy manteinance, deadly; one shoot can rip your arm off.
Damn!!! Larry recoil control make seems easy, he already tamed the beast.

The type 3 design is easily my favorite AK variant. Definitely on my wish list.
Which ak 47 (or it's other names) has the best quality? Russian, chinese, korean, iranian.....?
4:19: the OPERATOR in all of his glory. Pausing the video and looking at Larry as he lowers his AK, I can't help but think "what a badass".
Larry shoots more ammo in this than a typical NK infantry soldier shoots in a year (not counting Spec Ops and Border troops).
Awesome war relic. That S&B 7.62 x 39 ammo is the best, chronoed at 2500 fps from my AK.
that's pretty spicy compared to the normal steel cased crap. chrono'd it going 2150-2400 fps. yes, there was that much variation LOL
Lmao they couldnt even design their own actual rifles , copycats
Since north korea probably had connections with the soviet union they were able to manufacture it.
Like today countries and manufactures have to buy the Design to manufacture or make their own varient.
Bottom feeders on Texas Gun Trader would offer $400 for that AK.
와...북한제 58식 보총이라니 ㄷㄷㄷ
Crazy how larry can control this beast of a gun
Yeah, he's such a good shooter. It's really impressive to admire the control he has on his guns.
I shot a AKMS full auto before, not very hard to control. Was able to get all rounds on target in a mag dump. I bet the weight on that thing helps a lot though
It is crazy how he can stabilize and control. But then again . There’s 8 year old in Africa doing the same thing.
That ak is awesome.. Oh man 😳😍
Are all AK's this easy to control, or is this guy just a beast?
All you have to deal with is the sharp impulse of the bolt carrier impacting the rear, after that they don't have a lot of recoil.
@@ryker8338 "All you have to deal"
LOL
There something I'm not getting?
This is a milled receiver which makes it heavier than a stamped metal receiver AK. The extra weight makes handling recoil easier. That's just one thing though. Modern AKs have an improved muzzle brake/flash hider hybrid device which dissipate spent gas in such a way that it significantly reduces horizontal and vertical recoil.
Just an ak47 with words from North Korea
I didn't think I would want anything from North Korea, damn I was wrong.

North Korea was closer to the Soviets than China by the 60s. Which is why their over-dependent economy collapsed when the Soviets did.
Johny Ricco if I recall correctly, the Russians goaded the DPRK to attack the south.
DPRK thought Russia was going to back them all the way. Which didn’t quite work out.
Ultimately it was the PRC that had to save the Kim’s.
@@John1911 The country was created by Stalin so they were always tight with the Soviets. They were only closer to China for awhile during the 50s due to their role in the Korean War.

It's not really surprising they went the Soviet route, if you study history you'll know NK as a country was Soviet project from day 1, which is why to this day Russia still defends and makes excuses for their behaviour.
Its not a surprise due to the fact Kim had a relationship with Russia before Mao came to power. Saying its a project it quite a exaggeration.
