I just bought the 400! Absolutely an awesome machine. Replacing my 94 vintage square wave tig 255 from lincoln. I bought that machine new in 94. Starting to get 21st century equipment now. Love your channel. Never even thought about melting with a carbon rod. Might try that for steel and iron in my crucible. I've been welding aluminum and everything else for 34 years. Your channel always shows me new ideas for our craft. Many thanks
Is your new welder an invertor or transformer? Which one did you get and how do you like it? Any real advantages of the new one and does it help you weld any better? Im still using my Lincoln Square Wave 255 that I got new around 1996, I have used a Miller Dynasty (invertor) recently and I cant really say it does anything better than my transformer machine.
after watching your vids for years i finally caved in and ordered some of those delicious looking tillman 25b's. after EU shipping and bullshit taxes ended up costing me like $150 for 2 pairs. totally worth it although i didnt get magical hands like you got. thanks for all the good content
I genuinely have no idea how welds work or even an interest in becoming a welder, but something is satisfying about watching you do symmetrical shapes.
Thanks for the video! I just had a pop can debate.I said when I first got my Diversion 180,I had no clue and a friend (40 year X-ray welder) told me to weld soda cans together, because they are very thin and you will learn control, heat sink, keep tungsten out of the puddle etc! And ,I did learn alot and finally welded them percectly! But the debate began when he said it was merely a party trick. For a seasoned welder I agree, but for a newbie,ot was a cheap way to learn alot!
Although a tungsten electrode is good, you might want to consider a carbon arc rod. I didn't see it in the video, but you may want to consider using DCEN. There are also fluxes available when melting aluminum. The carbon electrode will also help with dissolved gases.
Another amazing video! Amazing work there good Sir!! But what do you use as the electrode? And how many angry pixies are you tipping into the crucible??
I melted down a box of old water pump castings to make my ingots. After sweating my a$$ off all afternoon by sawing them into pieces small enough to fit into my crucible, I realized that pistons are preferred for their shape & size as much as for the alloy. LOL Using propane/air seems a lot easier than an arc, but I'm glad you had fun. Hope you wore a good respirator... Removing the wasp nest was a nice touch. Always enjoy your content.
Ahhh sticking the tungsten, that happens to me too! 😁It reminds of a time I was welding something for my dad and stuck the crappy 6013 he had in his basement for 30 years to thehwork piece. He chirped me about a professional sticking the rod. I just unstuck it flipped my hood down and said thats why the call it stick welding! It happens.
I've machined the electrical connection components for arc furnaces. Couple hundred K of copper. Basically the most expensive carbon arc you've ever seen. I'm telling you the components I made basically were the connection to a telephone pole sized rod of carbon that melted battle ship quantities of steel into liquid in minutes.
How are you powering all your equipment in a refrigerator trailer a big generator? And im sure you have a plug like rv type or something to run off normal electricity
Been subscribed for a long time and allways love watching your videos. One (or two) question, how do you power all this? annnd, have you ever thought of selling special edition 6061 gloves, your videos bould profit from your name on the gloves and people would know they are getting good quality when buying.
Is there an air cooled torch that will work with the TIG Button? Either that or I need to figure out a way to hook up a water cooler to a Miller MM220AC.
Fun fact: molten aluminum dissolves steel... I don't think it'll be a problem in this case since your steel crucible is pretty thick, but I learned this the hard way when melting aluminum hard disk platters in a thin walled stainless container
I thought maybe you were going to fashion a canoe from all those empty beer cans, did you get a local bar to save all those beer cans for you or ..........?

I’ve been to an electric arc furnace at a steel mill, but I never thought I would see a tabletop electric arc furnace. Bravo, sir. Bravo.
Oh man, if I had a shear like yours, I would be missing a finger within one day. Gives me the willies just watching!
Aaron, even YOU are going to have a hard time topping this one . THAT was a LOT of work and funny as hell . lol Thanks . :)

Wow that’s crazy. I like the Tillman’s, hard to think of them being that expensive.
Informative, educational and hilarious! Thanks for sharing.

It was another youtuber!
Coming back to all these videos that I missed out on, just just told us on your latest video on 11/16

Watching you do an autogenius weld is very satisfying.
not sure if you were making a joke but it is autogenous. not genius.
Clickspring has got nothing on this guy. ;) I nearly spit coffee out of my nose when he brought out the cutting paste.

Very creative as well as informative--well done and thanks!!

I love this video! The ride, the truck and of course your skills! Keep it up!
Interesting and entertaining from top to bottom. Clever and dangerous also. Thank you!
You are a wild man, keep it up!
Welding helmet is back on!
This was a very musical episode lol.

Turn it into a belt buckle with 6061 engraved on it.

The most ridiculous video you have done! Had to show a friend and we just Laughed at the furnace.🤣
Awesome work bud as always
Rad dude.
Ooooh, shiny~
Lots of fun, really enjoyed this one! But now that you have the polished ingots...what are you going to do with them?
Ok, fantástico trabajó maestro, gracias por mostrar.🤟👍🤓😜
whats the melting rod? why didnt you compact the cans to max before melting?
My cat loved watching this video 😎
Awesome video! Thanks for your funny humor! I died at 5:38! XD Keep it up dude!

Looks like your next project should be a can crusher, lol!
dude when it sliped out the vice at the end classic
How many pop cans did it take to make one?

@vancependleton8484
Hi Vance,
The TIG Button works on any torch.
Thanks,
Aaron
13:47 what it's called? i mean this specific sharpening table/stone?
😂😂😂 tack and whack.
Awesome.
@6061 what power source do you use for your Mobile shop?
he has a vid on it... his whole setup is in that big rig... I think it's a gen head powered by a pto
What alloy is that? Looks like PbrMd
Cool 😎 video
That's helluva lot of PBRs. 😀
My dad let me taste a PBR when I was 12. I didn't drink beer again until I was 26.
Can tig convert aluminum oxide to pure aluminum?
I home made electronic arc Furnace.
I see no bud light cans in the stash, I wonder if they made their customers upset
Funny man ! Let's ride the cup !
Gloves within gloves? Damn! What's next? Welding mask under the welding mask?
Maybe you can get PBR to sponsor you?
Was wondering why you had 1909 on your glove.🤔. It been a long day .😀😀😀
Ого ты умеешь говорить )))
Fun fact: molten aluminum dissolves steel... I don't think it'll be a problem in this case since your steel crucible is pretty thick, but I learned this the hard way when melting aluminum hard disk platters in a thin walled stainless container
And now it's silver!
WTF, good job
TIGStack D Casting.
Now you can melt all your aluminium machines.
👍
Thought you might have crushed 30 cans at once on the press...
YOU HAVE A BRAKE PRESS IN UR RIG JFC
why?
DUDE!
i have 2000 empty redbull cans🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Desktop electric arc furnace 😆
I thought maybe you were going to fashion a canoe from all those empty beer cans, did you get a local bar to save all those beer cans for you or ..........?
Still not a 12.5 kg gold ingot. 😀
If bigstackd had a welder….
🤘👍🤣
Muahahah!😂😂😂
Ok, just a question: why? 😂😂😂
Dirty foot dirty mild
nice way spend 100x more on electricity to recover 30 bucks of aluminum. go green! XD
Aluminum plated lungs, good idea.
глаза !!!
and now you've got aluminosis from your dirty little experiment.
