I love Flint and Vane in this episode. Gates + Flints conversation, Flint + Miranda's conversation, Vane's speech - Chefs kiss! Vane was willing to deal with with Albinus (the big slave master) right up until he said 'take these men and make me rich'. I think at that moment Vane realized he was about to basically become a slave master himself. He just couldn't stomach using those men like that. By his brand you know he was a slave, and he hates slavery. So he spoke up and fought to take the men as free men. Now he has a new crew!
Great reaction. The bookkeeper turned quartermaster is Dufresne (pronounced "Doo-Frain") played by Jannes Eiselen. Unfortunately, next episode is his last appearance, as he was forced to leave the cast at the end of Season 1 after being diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. He passed away in September 2016. RIP

I'm behind on episodes, But just wanted to take a second to say your videos are genuinely so great. I know you guys don't have as many views compared to some bigger reaction channels, but you're just as good. I love the way you guys talk about things and figure out the details. This show is one of the best of all time, so happy to see another react to it.
Yeah Randall is secretly like a supremely intelligent con man basically lol...or is John just reading WAY too much into things. Its hard to say. I agree though about the fart. Its perfectly time and you can tell from Silvers reaction that even he cant say what that fart means. Is Randall as the rest of the crew sees him or is he, as John stipulates a very "shrewd operator". Yeah the crew has been pushed over the edge by what they suspect Flint has done to Billy. They are suspicious gates is implicit not because he is of the same mind with Flint but just because he hasn't done anything so far to curb the captains worst tendencies. So I think the crew is just wondering if they can actually trust gates to roll over when they come for Flint. Also in this episode, Jack is BAD at running brothels. Who knew Pirates' couldn't do math? Or maybe that's unfair. Point is Jack needs to get a better hold on how his business is supposed to operate. He clearly has no idea how everything is supposed to work.
Please please please avoid spoilers for season 2! But yes, all will be revealed. I'm always so excited to see the show through new eyes.
