Amazing for free, the Venn Audio free clip is good too. I dig the Kazrog the most, but combining any of these with the Fabfilter limiter is all one needs to master their own tracks. Solid demo!
Pro L is definitely good. But for me, the sound of the limiter from Kilohearz has recently become a discovery. Very clear sound. And besides, it's also free.
Thanks for sharing. Definitely is a dope Clipper, sounds different to FL Studio SoftCLipper but sounds really good and is a dope alternative as it adds punch and perceived loudness in a similar way. One thing I've noticed with this plugin is when you open a session up (that has this plugin saved in it) the plugin is resorted to its default settings, the settings you dialled and saved are gone, this only seems to happen in Reason.
Everyone got different ears! I will say since its been a while since this video was made that the TRacks sounds better on some things while the apogee sounds better on others!
@@AreDoubleYou my bad, that’s the name of the artist. His name was, “The Jacka” from the group, “Mob Figaz” in the early 2000s. This video sounds like a track they would have done back at that time.
@@AreDoubleYou K. I am simply going to try clipping my Rosetta soon. The Apogee plugin isn't available right now and I already have a few digital clippers, including a decent one from IK Multimedia, anyhow.
And why do you write that this is a Soft Clipper ??? It's just a Limiter - which is not the best. Why mislead people so that other people would only launch this video on UA-cam? This limiter is simply useless in operation. And making the output signal louder is not an indicator of the work of a Good limiter.
Why do you pretend to know what you're talking about? This is absolutely a soft clipper that rounds the peaks and introduces saturation. When limiting with a compressor the signal is pushed into a brick wall and the aim is to be transparent, adding no saturation. You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about when saying a limiter is not supposed to introduce gain. That's virtually the entire point of the limiter in digital production. Using level matched signals on a limiter is useful to hear what character the limiter is adding and to better hear distortion and artifacts when the threshold is increased too much. Level matching the signals on a limiter is useful for gluing things together on a bus. A limiter on the master is SUPPOSED to provide the gain to make your tracks competitively loud, and of course prevent clipping. You're the one here misleading people, and you should get educated on things before speaking on them.
@@o5pfilms951 If you really want to get a Professional SOUND, and at the same time achieve an impressive volume - I highly recommend getting "ASH" from AA. Today there is nothing better. And a little limiter before / or after (but not from Apoji)
@@o5pfilms951 They're not necessarily wrong, though. Using limiters to introduce gain, especially if used too heavily, and on the 2-bus, is the best way to make music mushy and lifeless. Just because the gain knob exists, doesn't mean you should use it by default. On the other hand, a hard clipper and saturator on each of the tracks is a much more viable option (for genres that warrant it). If you're using analog equipment, then, yes, it's a completely different ballgame, and you would probably not be using clippers and limiters to flatten transients, especially high up in the bus-stages. In some aggressive genres, like hip-hop and metal, though, you're just better off increasing gain on a utility-plugin, or even better, saturating (or soft clipping) every channel, at least subtly. Also, by the time you finish level-matching on a limiter, you, of course, wouldn't leave the LUFS the same by the time you finished testing what your limiter is doing to the sound, otherwise what's the point?
Amazing for free, the Venn Audio free clip is good too. I dig the Kazrog the most, but combining any of these with the Fabfilter limiter is all one needs to master their own tracks. Solid demo!
thank you! i might have to look into those other options
@@AreDoubleYou Do it!! AND Kazrog just released a free clipper today. Haven’t heard it yet, but I’m sure it’s great

Apogee all the way
Way better than Tracks, Soft Clipper, Glue compressor. If you combine Apogee + Standard clip you can achieve a pleasant clipp sound. Thx for the info!

should have added a bassline or 808 to really hear the softclipping work
i just realized that the 808 was muted 🤦♂️ you can see it on the mixer with the mute symbol on the channel lol

Why is it called soft limit and not soft clipper?
clippers come from the limiter family of components
