    Gary Moore had a killer high gain sound. When he went into more of just the blues, he definitely carried his tone with him. I have had blues "purist" tell me that my tone is too metal-ish. I just point to Gary and if they still don't get it, I hit them in the head with a small grapefruit. It makes a great squishy sound when it makes contact

      Thank you Rick. I'm happy to know someone appreciated my hard work. Please let me know what you think if you actually buy one. I'm still waiting for someone who's watched this to tell me what they thought of it for themselves. Trying something in a store and actually owning it are two very different things. I have both the Heart Attack & Purple Wind as well. In case you're interested, here is my demo of the Purple Wind: ua-cam.com/video/FRkUyhTgwec/v-deo.html

      Hi Jason, thnx for your reply, nice ;) I am quite saturated with amps Marshall/Fender/Bugera heads + combo's but as I am a guitar(amp) geek all stuff on the market is of interest to me.
      So... if I compare the HOTONE series with 1/5w tube amps, the sounsquality > price is unbeatable, here I am convinced. I do have tube amps but I certainely NOT believe that tube sound is superior to transistor/MOSFETs.
      In the 80's I proudly owned a Session Sessionette and THIS was a rockin' baby without tubes... I owned a Marshall 800 series (or was it 900?) and to me it sucked... so, what's in a name huh?
      So... if the Good Friendly God (Or Allah or who ever) throws some extra £,$,€ or bitcoins to me: Hotone it will be...
      => I buy a lot of guitar pieces directly in China and discovered a lot of funny, interesting unknown brands ... :)
      => Wishing you all the best my friend, stay in tune ...

    • @JasonMcNamara

      +Claudio Sarra : For that Claudio you really should look at these little Hotone amps on a mini scale. Otherwise you should check out the Hughes & Kettner Tubemeister series. Sure, they are not "cheap", but still for their price they are fantastic value for money. I just checked and on the back it says, "Designed & Engineered in Germany". They may actually be "Made in" China for all I know, but they are DAMN good!! Just a thought.

  • @Punktuality
    @Punktuality 9 років тому +2

    Would this amp be loud enough through a 4x12 to keep up with a drummer, or would you still need a PA?

    • @JasonMcNamara
      @JasonMcNamara  9 років тому +1

      Toastied, it is pretty loud for a small amp, but that could be a little tough. If you were playing with a LOUD drummer then no chance. However if you set the amp & 4x12 behind the drummer then it might be ok for jamming, but still it's not really designed for that purpose. It's more so you can get that big sound at a small volume to practice with at home.

      you feed that little amp into at least 60 watts amp into a half stack and you can cut the band .

    Actually it just sounds like the audio is out of phase, when I first heard it I thought you had a phaser or a chorus going on. I think a 180 degree phase shift would make it sound less Metal zone/bees in a can

      Had no idea we have a following in Ohio. Very cool. Well I'm listening to Sevendust right now while I'm commenting here so I enjoy mixing it up a bit. At least I have seen them live. Haha!!! Seen lots & lots of great bands on great/classic tours, but Rush & Thin Lizzy is something I really couldn't beat in a "My Best Concert Showdown". The closest I've got is either Metallica on the ...And Justice For All tour, Aerosmith on the Pump tour or Megadeth on the Rust In Piece tour. Oh, and I was at the Steve Vai gig when Orianthi famously opened up for him in Adelaide, South Australia in Feb 2000 when she was only 15 years old.

    thank you, very useful demo. I apreciated the fact that the mikes are placed in stereo, at audition distance, not in studio recording position. it gives you a lot of info about the real sound of the amp and cab configuration. wish I could see this used more on demo videos on youtube, done profesionally, like in your video, not from a flimsy camera mike.
    maybe it would not be a bad ideea to try this amp/cab on the floor, too, eventually with a wall closer behind and in a smaller space - for a touch of more bass, and for a more home/bedroom lifelike sound, because the huge room in which you are is far from the real situation in which this amp would be used. though, I have to admit with admiration, this amp/cab holds it well in this huge space... but I would also have wanted to hear much more of the headphone/recording output sound - it seems to me it has cab simulation on, and I really am curious about its usefulness.
    congrats.

If you do want to purchase one you can email me on jason@ishibashi.co.jpAs for your idea of the space for the demo, that would be cool, but here in our store we don't even have a space like that I could do that in unfortunately.Cheers, Jason

    • @InTheSh8
      @InTheSh8 7 років тому

      No. But if you own any kind of Headamp you can connect the Send of the HoTone to the Return of your Head. Like this you have a Mesalike Preamp played into a powerful poweramp with more high-end frequency content. Type "Lasse Lammert HoTone" and you will understand what I mean. You can also have a look at the JoYo Zombie BantamP. Same concept like HoTone but 20W output instead of 5. Should be OK for practicing, the Joyo, although it's hard to know for sure. Some transistors are equally loud at the same wattage, some not. The Hotone definitely would be too silent.

    • @JasonMcNamara
      @JasonMcNamara  10 років тому

      I actually is. I must admit, I think the recording levels on the mics were a bit high and the audio could have been better. When you're in the room playing it and keep in mind that it's a practice tool, it's fine for 6, 7, 8 or even 9 string Guitars. If you were looking for a dream amp, of course this isn't the perfect choice, but that amp would be a Bogner, Bad Cat, Mesa or something along those lines and they would cost you 30 times the price of the Heart Attack.
      Like I said, for a practice tool it's awesome. If you have a dealer near you go test it out. They are a LOT of fun to play with.
