"Remember that you are not responsible and that it is impossible to give voices to those who have been silenced... What you can do is amplify the voices they already have within them." A quote to ponder over.
Sorry but her pattern of speaking is quite insufferable. I'm a little unsure what her general point is though. Is she saying 3rd wave feminism is only really western feminism? Is her point then that women in the 3rd world are on 1st and 2nd wave? What's her point? Please explain.
She said that it is important to be inclusive of the numerous different voices and ideologies while working towards female empowerment instead of judging the rest of the world through whitewashed narratives of feminism. I find her talk quite understandable, not quite stellar but indeed drives home the point.
Her point is that Western feminism is narcissistic, self-serving, voyeuristic, and uses itself as a referent. In fact, Western feminism also generalizes and homogenizes the experiences of third-world women viewing them as a singular monolith, without acknowledging historical and cultural specificities. In this way, it is not intersectional.

I don't get why minority women who grew up and live in the "west" are excluded from "western feminism"
Because they lust for only white men once feminised, already happening.

Why did this show up on my page?
Sorry but as another third world woman I hate these examples of women using their own opression and not be completely dehumanised as "empowerment"
Feminism is the biggest mistake humanity has made
agree. although the initial push has more reasons grounded in reality, the present is just a sad story abt feelings and what not.
hahahha
I can’t find words for people like you. I just can say that, you disgust me.
I think you living on this planet is. An abortion should have stopped this mistake.
