Already in his early tenure at Leipzig Bach was experimenting with the cantata. A composed string introduction. Woodwind announce the chorale, a recitative precedes the sung chorale. Unpredictable modulations and recitative interplay with the chorale until we suddenly realise it has concluded (and we need to hear it again because it was incredible).
Nice! Your videos should be seen by more watchers. May I repost your channel without changing anything on the clean platform named Ganjing World? Thank you!
First of all: The recognized language for YT is english, not spanish. Secondly: What kind of homophobic person are you? Third: The Alto is not "imitating" an feminine alto, it is his vocal range.
@@vonpfrentsch Homophobic, you say? I'm not clear: is there (in your view) a connexion between male altos and gays? Do we even know that Alex Potter is gay? Whether he is or not (to paraphrase Klemperer), vot has zat to do viz Bach?
@@sashadelmar7531 The comment from the gentleman above would in our countries be considered as homophobic. Does he even know how Bach casted the Alto at Thomas Church in Leipzig back then?
He's not imitating a female voice, you ignorant fool. He's simply singing an alto-range part in falsetto. Women's voices were not used in German church music until the 19th century. Until then, alto parts were sung by boys or falsettists. Not by opera "mezzos."
ooh, what a wonderful tenor
Hermosa versión llena de expresión espiritual y humanidad. Además de una ejecución perfecta. Muchas gracias ❤
Makoto Sakurada's performance is truly phenomenal.

I keep coming back to hear the bass aria.
Me too! So much life and serious virtuosity (especially toward the end).
And the final chorale...
