I remember going to this...a week before Cliff's tragedy. Got here early and waited for them to arrive. They pulled up in a white bus/van,with Cliff sat up front,headbanging against the dashboard. 🙂
I stood up front when gig was on...right in front of Cliff. I always remember Cliff pouring some of his bottle of beer over us....felt great...cooled us down,so hot.🙂
Wicked show. Then after we queued up to get their autographs. Anthrax supported....probably the most memorable gig I ever went to. So sad to lose Cliff a week later. RIP Cliff...gone but never forgotten.
This was my second ever gig. I was 15 and Metallica were gods to me!!!

Me too ,Cliff was throwing water over us at the front because it was so hot, and my mate went backstage after and got my program signed by the whole band. Great night . Got an Anthrax plectrum from Dan Spitz too.

The night before this gig they were all drinking in mr bills bier keller on needless alley (just off new st opposite side to whers the Odeon is.) My. Mates band annihilator were playing and cliff and kirk got up to jam whiplash with them. There was probably only 80 in the pub that night. Members of annihilator went on to be benediction, doom amongst others. But I'll never forget that Hetfield was the only one who wouldn't get up and all the band were totally pissed on and raving about how great m&b mild was

You have friends within Annihilator, you mean the band that made Alison hell? That's very cool. My father really likes their music and encouraged me to listen aswell.
