Good news to those the haven't reached out 100000 miles yet, mini dealership have a recall in HPFP replacement @100% covered. Only if the job is done at a local mini dealership. I learned it the awful way, I wasn't aware of it and I went out and spent $997 on a new part and $365 labor plus tax a total of $1500 and some change. I'm trying to get some money back but my chances are minimum cause the job was done outside mini dealership. Don't make my mistake and find out. Good luck
Yes still own car and still love it! Had it for 2.5 years now. They have a couple of faults, mainly HPFP and timing chain tensioner (which I also had done) but I still think they are a great, fun car to drive.
Bro I have the exact same problem when you looked up the code did it come up as cc ID 031? I have done valve cover gasket evp sparks coils and new gas cap and still can’t get that fucking code to go away so u say it’s the fuel pump
@@Fakeittillumakeit101 Hi Mike, I didn't have a code reader and was pretty confident it was the HPFP so I just took it into the main dealers and they replaced it.
MINI issued a 10 year/120K mile warranty on the High Pressure Injection Pump because they commonly fail. If you are within that time/mileage you will not pay for that fix.

Happened to me on the highway in my '11 S hatch. All of a sudden I lost about 90% of the power and the IP lit up with warnings. I had literally just picked my car up from the dealership after the oil pan solenoid had been leaking.
They did with me as I bought the car from an independent garage. The key fact was it has full main dealer service history. If it didn't have that then I'm not sure if Miniuk would have contributed towards the repair.
I am having the same issue with my 2010 Clubman S. Called Mini customer care, they informed me that the warranty does not cover my car. They told me to call the dealership and they may warrant the repair or offer a discount. I called the dealership in San Francisco, they said they cannot warrant anything, that would have to come from MINI USA. I asked how much the repair would be. I was quoted $2100 to replace the high pressure fuel pump. I will replace it myself and drive the car off a cliff before I have to repair the impending timing chain issue. I unfortunately did not do enough research before purchasing this car or I never would have bought it.

Tengo la leve sospecha que lo que requiere el auto es un mejorador de octanage y limpiador de inyectores hay veces sucede que en la punta extrema que va dentro del cilindro hay un empaque delicado blanco de celofán está roto. Aconsejo limpiar y cambiar los empaques de los inyectores.
I ended up changing the fuel pump. There wasn't much else that could be done. Even though my car was outside warranty my Mini dealership agreed to pay for the fuel pump if I paid for the fitting cost. It still cost me around £140 but the it would have been double the cost if I had to pay for the pump. Go to your local dealer with as much evidence as you can showing that this is a common fault! Good luck.

hockeyfreak043 our countryman was kick ass at first powerful bad ass great awd in the snow. I suggest that you admire one from afar or a test-drive only. Do not own one our min has so many problems it's so damn stupid. The issues are not the standard repairs that one would expect. No battery alternator starter no axels nothing but a brakes yet that are standard repairs. Stay away from them.

I emailed MiniUk with all the info that I'd gathered from the internet (which there was plenty of) and did the same with my local dealership and I think that having firstly emailed MiniUK this helped my case although they did not admit at any time there was a fault. The car also had full main dealer service history and the last service was at my local dealership. I must point out though that I was the 3rd owner of the vehicle so had not purchased from new.
It doesn't matter that you weren't the first owner. BMW has a track record of faulty fuel pumps. I ended up having to contact BMW GROUP in Germany. I had taken my car in 32 times in 6 months for issues. It turned out that the car wasn't at fault, but it was the SHODDY work of the dealership. They sent an engineer to look at my car, and then had it flatbed'd to Charlotte (150 miles away), so another dealership could actually fix it correctly the first time. I haven't had any issues since then.

Ethan Bibi pierde compresión tu carro, checa el tapón de aceité, quítalo cuando el carro este encendido, no pasa nada; avienta vapor, debido a la compresión de uno de los pistones, tienes q checar la cabeza del motor, las juntas, y del monoblock las camisas y q no estén dañados los anillos, pistones... llevar el motor a la rectificadora para q te cepillen la cabeza y el monoblock... esto pasa por un calentamiento....
El mio es mini cooper s coupe 2012, me paso hoy manejando y se prendió el mismo dibujo del motor con mitad de color amarillo, que solución hicieron, agradezco su respuesta

same problem. Mini offers an extended warranty on hpfp to 120k miles. 2 times dealership denied warranty..cost me 300 diagnostic fees and 2 day off for nothing. Still owns the car and will sell after fixing the issue out of pocket..estimate $1200. Will never buy mini again ever and not even a bmw
@@emmastrausser357 Sorry I didn't see the replies. Mine was an ignition coil that needed to be replaced and Mini coopers start to run on three instead of four so in order to not harm itself, it basically starts to react like this car.
Google it, or call and ask your nearest service center. The extended warranty is for the 2007-2009 Cooper S. They will first want to inspect the car (~$160) to make sure the fuel pump is the problem. If the fuel pump actually is the problem they don't charge you for the inspection or for the new fuel pump. I had mine done 2 weeks ago.
It might not be the fuel pump, my car was giving very specific symptoms that let me know that it was the fuel pump. It can be anything, your timing might be off, carbon buildup, spark plugs, coils, injectors etc. If the dealership prices are too high search for an independent mini or bmw specialist in your area. If you are in the New York area, BMA Specialists on Long Island do a great job for about half the dealership price.

Happened to me recently where it cut power and engine light cam on. Replaced all my coils and spark plugs,and now it runs perfectly normal😁

Check leak/crack on the charge pipe. Plastic pipe to the turbo.

Try looking for a 2011+ Mini, they have much fewer issues.
