It looks very lovely! Painting hummingbirds is a lot of fun! Isn’t it weird that our eyes when looking at birds and where one feather turns into another it looks just like painting scales if they didn’t have wings?
I chose your video because I like your background with the hummingbird. I am trying save a piece where I am dissatisfied with my background, it may be too late.
Yes, my website is www.LorraineWatryStudio.com and my classes page lists my online and in person classes. I will have new updates coming for the fall and spring.
@@lorrainewatry_watercolors My apologies for not getting back to you sooner. I have been having surgeries but yes I have used the method and it mostly reminds me of portraiture which I need to work on more. There is a UA-camr who uses the method in wc, ChaYeon painter and I really loved his rendition of a baby with a yellow knitted hat with ears. I also sneak it into my colored pencils. Really since it is an underpainting it works great with landscaping. It creates the cool or warm light or shadows but I have been experimenting with it and I hope to feel better soon to do more studies. Your hummingbird is beautiful!
Wonderful painting! I learn something every time I watch your videos! Thanks for sharing!
I'm so glad! Thanks for the feedback.
Thank you !
You're welcome!
Your description of your process is so helpful. Beautiful work!
Thank you so much!

Hi Jennie, Yes! I have often thought hummingbird feathers, especially, can feel like scales. :>)

I hope you gave your background another chance. Sometimes, they aren't saveable, though. I have had some of those.
Do you give real classes?

Have you ever tried the verdaccio technique with watercolor?
I have not tried verdaccio with watercolor. I had to look that up because I hadn't heard of it. Have you ever tried that?
