Thanks for sharing that. I think Shake Awake is the way to go and if you do not have that, leave it on all the time and replace battery once a year on your birthday or new year’s eve.
That's interesting point, however I'm still dead set on rheostat over button I have seen too many button broken on remote, tool, equipment, etc. they are vulnerable to impacts because it transfer impact directly to circuit board underneath the button. The rubber/silicon get punctured or torn all the time and let in dirt, moisture, or straight up water. Rheostat is way more tough. You made me check if I can turn all of my rheostat reddot with my weak hand (i can). Motion wake is hard pass for me I want my dot off when I want it off when its traveling with me in car.
Ive had one for about 5 years and i still dont really use it much. Primary arms micro red dot with buttons and that riser off the msr is my go to. Battery lasts always on for years, i can't break it and it is so easy to use it's not even funny. I could have gotten around the knob but that battery life was terrible......
I wonder if you could epoxy a couple protruding bumps in the dial so as to offer some purchase or more so leverage ?... I own one and still haven't put it on anything because of the same reason.. Insanely hard turning dial... I bought an AT3 Tactical red dot and 3X magnifier to put on my Ruger Carbine and have been happy with it... But wet hands ?.... I'll have to try to see how that goes... It's not nearly as stiff as the MSR, but still some effort... Thanks for the heads up n' God bless
@scottv8960 I will now add "wet hands" to all optic tests. For my personal firearms, I will only use "shake awake" or etched reticles. Definitely nothing with a knob I have to turn on. I will keep extra batteries.
@NOTSOSLIMJIM For a "grab and aim" situation, and since I have the option to put a MOTAC type optic on it, I am going that route. A friend of mine wants it. None of my firearms are range toys. They have to be ready to go when I pick them up. 🤠👍🦅🦬🪶⛈️
Those raccoons are cute, but are predators on young kittens, and mother cats with litters. Also can be more than one attacking at the same time here in east tx.. And will keep coming back...until you do pest control.
@kronoswolf8335 The light was off because the front porch had sufficient light to see the target, and I did not want to alert the predator I was there. It took off so fast after the 1st shot, and my flaw of action at that moment was to try again to turn the optic on. My second move was to engage the light (which should have been my FIRST priority once it started running, instead of messing with the optic) lesson learned, and I will definitely implement in my future training.
For some time now I have lost all trust in Sig, as far as Primary Arms goes I have never owned or used one, but not too long ago I was subscribed to their channel here on UA-cam, they came out with a video on some new binoculars they were selling, the guy doing the video said that there was no reason why you should not own these binoculars. I commented that I was blind in one eye and I thought that was a pretty good fucking reason. ;-) He commented back trying to sell me one of their scopes, I then commented that was good advice and I would be buying it from somewhere else and I was unsubscribing from their channel. He did get the last word and asked why I was unsubscribing? I own one red dot it's an Aimpint Comp M4, it's incredible, I zeroed it on my Colt LE6920 in 2010 and never had to rezero it, I put it on my Colt LE901 in 2012 and did not have to rezero it.

Good to know You need to be able to access quickly.
Another awesome video buddy

@@TrollinCrazyRussian Etched reticle is my choice when I have the cash for them. All of my optics will eventually go to that.

I bought the Gen 2 model couple weeks ago, it's tough to turn on also

Take the knob off, and grease it. Turns like butter. It's the dry o-ring that 2:08 makes it tight.

@praktikalnurse504 yeah, not best for that. More of a fun gun or backpack gun. I personally love LVPO's myself.
Nah... it's pragmatic, effective and deadly, perfectly suited for his intended application... 🤷♂️
Get an RMR. Just need to press a button. Midway has a really good deal on Burris $300 optic for around $180.
@@mcb2757 I just had 2 sent to me for testing. Stay tuned!! 🤠👍🦅🦬🪶

All of mine have shake awake and lights 🤦🏼♀️ 🤣
Johnny look at the sight called seeall
@observationpostcharlie1365 I am always open to a better option than the one I have. 👍🤠🦅🦬🪶

Trash pandas and Sig optics…. Both belong in the trash!
@danielgodismyjudge 🤣🤣🤣 I think I have one of their Romeo 5 versions laying around, but I like the comaparison
I have 3 romeo 5’s and they have held zero really well, good battery life. Don’t know about the other models
Shake to wake works well on my romeo 5’s , but its hard on rechargeable batteries, so stick with standard batteries
