  • "Don't you wanna go" back to 1990 when the ladies performed at the Dominion Theatre London headlining the 'Legends of Motorcity' tour which also featured Kim Weston, Syreeta, The Elgins, Marv Johnson etc. Showing that these diva's still shine Supremely!

Jean was and will always be my favorite lead singer of The Supremes!!!! As Mary once said, Jean's voice is an instrument. She plays it like a Violin. Each lead singer (Diane, Jean, and Scherrie) brought a different sound. But, Jean's voice is one of those that touches you and leaves you speechless!!!!

Oh oh OH! Jean, Sherri and Linda sound amazing! Jean always does such great improvising on this song when doing it live. I love her holding the not on 'can'.... "..where we Caaaaaaaaaan see heaven much better!. Much better than the recorded version of 'where-we-can-see--heaven much better.."

"Ladder" is one of my all-time favorite Supremes songs and this is a dynamite version. Thank you, Steve, for uploading it. However, I have to admit I miss Cindy Birdsong in the line-up. Her radiant smile, elegant movements, and professionalism added so much to the group.

Stoned Love is a classic, so is Floy Joy, Nathan Jones, the Supremems 70s work was excellent. They sang better and had more soul.

There is not version featuring Diana Ross. She had left the Supremes way before this song, which Jean Terrell sang lead on.

a classic. I think all three jean led supremes hits are under rated classics. great track

The original ladies were friends and had commonality. Once Ballard was dismissed, The Supremes were no longer a group but became a Motown property. Therefore the integrity of that property needed to be maintained. The direction of where Wilson and her husband took this group was all wrong. PS: Great honor to be amongst SO many Supremes fans. Gordy or DePasse should visit here--maybe they will get some $ ideas.

On this day in 1970 {February 15th} the Supremes performed "Up The Latter To The Roof" on the CBS-TV program 'The Ed Sullivan Show'...
One month later on March 7th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #10 and spent 11 weeks on the Top 100...
It reached #5 on Billboard's Hot R&B Songs chart and #6 on the U.K. Singles chart...
This was the Supremes 1st release without Diana Ross; the new lineup was Jean Terrel {lead singer}, Cindy Birdsong, and Mary Wilson...

Thanks Ivy for sharing this great performance video by Jeanne & The Supremes. Jeanne had a very hard job to do. Follow Diana Ross. I think her voice was superb and pitches that Diana Ross would probably have difficulty achieving. Too bad she was always under rated. "Touch" album happened to be one of my favs, on "Touch" with all of the girls performing their own lines. That cut always gives me "goose bumps"! I think Cindy even impressed me! Thanks again for sharing! Mike

Very nice performance. It's too bad not all the ladies (still living) who were once a part of the Supremes can't put their differences behind them and put on a big show for the fans.

Gordy was an idiot with a heart I guess. After Ballard's firing and Ross' departure, he should have done something with Wilson and re-tooled the Supremes with these women. This IS the second-generation Supremes. Could I picture Ross singing this song...Yup, but with Ballard and Wilson. It would have been a hit for them too. Its about chemistry with voices and personalities.

You sure cant, these ladies Really can sing, I dont know why people cant just sit down and enjoy some real soulful singing.Diana sings but there are to many people who can out sing her almost every one in the business can natalie cole even said that she could sing rings around Diana and thats why Diana never liked her because she over heard Natalie say that.

I saw something with the ladies jumping around and singing notes all over the place. Not the Supremes style! Their mark was delicate choreography and tight harmonies. Gordy gave Wilson too much power over the direction of this property. But in Wilson's defense he (Gordy) was so busy with the other property-Ross, that somebody had to do something. He should have sold Wilson the rights to the Supremes and let Wilson kill it. Which she did in some ways.
