No Doubt!! I actually had it ordered months ago but it was on backorder forever!!!! So, I went straight to Ricochet and had it the next week. I hadn't been riding really too knarly of trails until lately and it instantly became clear that I needed that update fast!
I love this one also! I can say that I don't ride as intense as you do, yet!! But, I agree, the stock one I think only protects from weeds, that about it!
I got mine from Ebay really cheap. Then got a message from Richochet months later that the plate was stolen from the Company and resold on Ebay by a fired employee. I felt bad, but honestly, I had already beat the crap out of it, had already paid $75 for it, and wasn't sure what to do. Richochet never asked for any money or anything, so I just went on beating the plate up. Hopefully my recommending the brand to every motorcycle rider I know has helped out.
Ha Ha that's crazy!! I bought mine from Cycle Racks and paid more for it, but it is totally worth it! I was out riding today and it is a rock solid set up! I'll recommend to every also so hopefully we can make up for it!
sweeet, thanks Matt! I just got my Richochet plate last week but I'm a little worried installing it might void my warranty, I was thinking of calling the dealer and finding out. Same with the Tusk hand guards I just don't wanna go tearing into the bike with out knowing for sure.
Hey Collin! Honestly I don't think it'll void the warranty at all, you're protecting your investment!! Hand guards and the rear rack have protected this bike more than enough to pay for themselves! This skid plate should do so as well! Let me know what the dealer says!
Still have mine in the box along with a fmf pipe and 1000$ of tw parts sitting in a storage unit with my bike. Some day I'll get to working on it. I cant work on automobiles on the storage property.
Well, I dare say you won't regret buying that one! I've done quite a few miles on mine and on the street and dirt it does loads better than the stock! Hopefully you get to install those parts on the bike soon!
@@MOBStreet83 the factory one was already gone on the bike when I purchased it and didn't notice till I got the new one and then when I just held it there I noticed I never had it. Half the work was done!!!!

It's a monster plate for sure! Side to side, there is no comparison, the Ricochet is one of the best skid plates out there for the TW! Thanks for taking the time to watch, I appreciate it!
An absolute necessity for the TW. Mine took way too long to install, although admittedly I'm not Mr. Master Mechanic. Buy an elbow for your socket wrench and you'll save a lot of time and frustration.
I agree! My riding has become more advanced and is taking me lots of different places that having the new skid plate is a must. But, I have also been loads of places where I thought I was gonna scrape but didn't. Short wheelbase, massive contact patch with the tires, this bikes goes all over!
Just put my plate on my 21 model. It was a little bit different than yours. the metal tang that held the old skid plate on had much more weld around it and i had to really hammer it out of the way. wasn't quite as simple as yours. took me about an hour with all the fiddling i had to do. Everybody else made it look so easy! lol

I can see why you waited the handguards, racks, and foot pegs are the first thing I'm going to order. Then after all that is mounted and I put a few more miles on the TDUB I will get that skid plate. I saw the vid about letting out air pressure but have you been riding the snow covered trails?

You know, that is what I thought and I found it weird that my instructions recommended anti seize. Blue loctite makes a lot more sense. Thanks for the insight.

Just bought my skid plate and going to put it on. Don't have a scissor lift. Can I do that without one or which one do you recommend? Or can I use a wheel stand? Thanks!
Good question! At the end of the video I said that it sounds like you're on top of a sewing machine with the new plate installed, but it isn't bad at all! You can get a foam insert to deaden the sound but I don't mind it that much...... now anyways! 😁
@@MOBStreet83 I avoided the foam because I wanted maximum air flow through there, but I coated the heck out of the plate with automotive rubberized undercoating. I'm pretty sure it made zero difference, but after spending so much time putting so many layers on, I've convinced myself that it reduced the sound from a broken sewing machine to a quality sewing machine :).

Another great video! I am still rallying my stock plastic skid on my bike. I need to upgrade to an aluminum HD skid before it’s too late.

Ricochet recommends using Blue loctite not anti seize.

Hey! No, you don't need the scissor lift to install it. You can do this one with the bike on the ground if you want to.
