  • This is video of me fixing my VW Golf Mk3 ABF 2.0 16V engine idling issues. It was all due to broken tubing that messed with RPM's. Quick fix by replacing broken tube to any normal tube, you don't need to by expencive original tubes. Offcourse that is safer but still, you always can find workaround.

Sad :( Idling is hell of an issue, took me really long time to figure this one out, since while it's not heated up it works fine. Needed to connect to computer and drive around to see live what the hell happened.

That is a good question. After a quick google search I cant give you a definitive answer to that. I will try to find something useful to tell you...

It is possible that there is a vacuum leak. Also you can check the air sensor. They don't cost much so you can change that. In my experience usually if RPM's take ages to drop it is due to some sensors being messed up. They are messing with fuel\air ratio and that is causing the issues.
So yeah, first try going trough your vacuum tubes and then try changing the air sensor. If that doesn't help, feel free to write me a email and we can try to figure that out.

@@user-ns6ny7wp4d In theory it is possible to put any engine in any car, I would say that it is possible with out much modifications. I believe that engine was in Polo 98', Golf 4 had the same body configurations if I'm not mistaken. In that case engine should go on the same engine mounts as polo had it. Please don't hold me to it, but knowing VW they loved to make models that feature same mounts and stuff. Need to do a bit of digging but at first look if you take engine and gearbox then you should be good, just need to figure out what is up with wiring. Hope my answer helped...
