Complete domination over the current Hodge trophy winner. WOW!
That's why the hodge should have went to Vito or Yianni
@@bryan1847 Vito lost. Actually even Gable didn’t out sit. He’d be a 3x NCAA champ and a 3x Hodge Trophy winner.
Umm…this is freestyle…anything can happen
@@bryan1847 you don't win the Hodge with a loss
This dude has owned Paris for last 4 years
prime example of "there are levels to this shit"
I was able to see Gable Stevenson in 2022 when Minnesota came to wrestle at Iowa. It's not often you get to see an Olympic gold medalist wrestle. All of us in Carver Hawkeye arena gave him a standing ovation after his match (which he won, of course). Truly incredible.
Gable is the greatest heavyweight we’ve ever seen. I’m so glad he’s recovered & back on track to win another championship/gold. It’s been such a pleasure to watch a once in a lifetime athlete dominate at the highest level.
Not sure how old you are, but Bruce Baumgartner is the best heavyweight I've ever seen. Gable is 2nd though.
Best ever? ….best ever in the world? Have you ever seen Baumgartner?
Karelin the Russian is the Goat. Stop it
@@BigNickdogg420 pretty sure most of us didn’t see Karelin in his prime smart guy.
def seems like Steveson could be goat if he keeps at it...pretty hard to say he tops Karelin now since Karelin was undefeated for so damn long-I've watched old matches of him on yt and he was absolute beast. (Baumgartner was nasty too but Russian's dominance was on another level imo). Selfishly I'd love the goat to be from USA so i really hope steveson sticks around long term
Steveson's balance is unbelievable!
He's just not a lazy sack, like most guys his weight.
It blows my mind how he's able to maintain control even when he's off balance like he was for that second takedown...dudes a monster! 1:28
Crazy how smooth Gable moves for a big man
Got so much talent
Gable is so quick and smooth for his size. It’s really incredible.
Junk in the trunk is the secret
@@tomevers6670 🤣🤣🤣
always love watching father and son wrestle
Crazy considering how Mason manhandled all the big guys in college this year and Gable manhandled Parris. WOW!
I agree … it makes me
Wonder if Parris is intimidated or is Gable power that overwhelming? It’s the closest thing I’ve seen to a fetal position while standing
I would rather see Parris just take more chances and use all his power and speed …and I don’t care if he gets pinned, he has to try something and go down with his strengths rather than looking like he is shadow wrestling as a Gables training partner
@@francostacy7675 gables strength with his left underhook put the fear into mason, its clear he had no answer for it after the second time gable used it.
It was a garbage weight class this year.
It’s crazy the levels to the sport
I’d love to see this dude in the UFC.
Whenever a match pops up I look at the total minutes & before I even watched it, I knew gable made quick work out of this
The thing with Gable Steveson is that his ceiling is higher than anything WWE can give him in my opinion. He’s most likely going to get gold again in 2024, and he’s young enough to go for a 3PEAT in 2028 Los Angeles. In the next 10-15 years Gable can easily be a multi-time Olympic gold medalist, multi-time WWE champion, and possibly UFC heavyweight champion. I’d rather push Gable doing something productive and inspiring than supporting Roman Reigns part time schedule most likely bombing Hollywood auditions during his time off.
He’s the best heavyweight ever. Mason is outstanding, and Gable makes it look so easy.
Definitely not.
That wasn't even a battle. What a monster to take time off and still be so dominant a year later
When Gable locked in the first underhook with ease, you already knew it was over.
Gable is just too damn explosive
That under-hook to the ankle pick is unstoppable.
I was excited to see this one at this point, and then it’s not even close. Gable is all by himself up there.
Wow I am so happy this guy is back! Most promising wrestler in US history - obv he is already proven maybe I should say best senior debut. Beats the two best heavyweights of all time his first go
That final takedown was a Jedi mind trick.
He makes it look so easy!
GS ran a clinic on the current Hodge winner. Too bad for MP, but goes to show that there are levels to this game.
Gable must have one of the highest take down finish rates ever. If he shoots, it's almost an automatic score.
Parris is the interim ncaa champion
Best heavy weight ankle picks ever GABLES A BEATS
Sick single at the end
Gable Steveson is not a human being. Absolute beast.
I hope wrestling holds his interest for the next ten years because he may go down as the best of all time, if it does
WOAH - gable is back? I have been wayy out of the loop. When did this happen? Is he all in?
Great to see Gable in fighting shape. But just as interesting a story line for me is the conversation that they had at the end, and initiated by Mason. The vibe between these 2 has been bad in the past, and just reading body language, maybe Mason is making an attempt to get both of them to a better place.
Hopefully, I think Gable's amazing but I don't care for dissing your opponent even if there is former beef. Just win and go like a man.
Gable looks like he's just fooling around! 😅 MAN, what a BEAST; INCREDIBLE strength, quickness and, skill!Go Gable!💪🏾😃
💪💪💪💪💪
Taha akgul şampiyon

HE'S BACK. Mason mad AF
If only gable competed again this time around but dammm wwe
His strength and wrestling IQ is unmatched!
this guys kinda good at wrestling
How is he this good after all this time off the mat? Paris has got to be so frustrated
Off the competitive mat, he still wrestled and practiced and stayed fit
I’d way rather see gable go to mma but completely understand why he choose pro wrestling hope to see him in both 🤞🏽
Perfect example of the mental game. Mason looked like a deer in the headlights this match. Not to say he could beat Gable on his best day but his general level of inactivity this match was embarrassing.
Because Gable knew how to work the underhook against Paris. If you just get an underhook and do nothing with it, Paris will just hit an overhook dump. Here, Gable not only gets the underhook but once he gets the underhook, he's instantly driving forward to make sure Paris is off balanced enough to not even think about trying a fireman's dump off the underhook. That's how he can get the ankle pick so easily since Paris was so worried about trying to defend the underhook. Kerkvliet just tried to finesse himself to an NCAA title and never learned that Paris will dump you any chance he can get an overhook. Gable knew what he had to do
Gable: "who won the hodge trophy that was a heavyweight last year? Asking for a friend...
Gabe said that him ain't "catching up"!
Wonder what that convo was about
He would be a top 5 heavyweight right now if he went to the ufc
100%
Taha akgul gable maçını heyecanla bekliyorum 🎉
I noticed Gable does a wonderful job in "bouncing" in clinched positions. With an underhook, he reduces his opponents weight with a bounce and he acquires a technical attack (or a pushout) with minimal energy. It's wonderful to see heavyweights use good technique in conjunction with their strength and size - it's good wrestling!!
Gable is easily the greatest heavyweight we’ve ever seen. Easily.
Pretty new to watching freestyle, dont get how an ankle pick can net 4 point. I thought only big throws with elevation netted more than 2.
Back exposure gives 2 ( i think) + takedown
☝️Yes. That is correct . In freestyle all you have to do is expose their back. Automatic 2 points. Just like in a leg lace or a gut wrench and you turn them. Ankle pick will work as well, but they are rare. Normally someone would get to their stomach and flatten out in par tarre position. Gable is kinda different.
Gable is probably the best in the world at ankle picks it's not an easy thing to do
Yea just like they said it is called feet to back=4 points if it’s super spectacular kinda throw feet to back it would be 5 points

catching up? Catchin up!? WHO'S CATCHIN UP!? - GABLE STEVESON
Gable would have won another ncaa championship!!!
The 2 4's were a little bogus, but it isn't like he wouldn't have gotten to 11 eventually. Gives you a good comparison between national champions a year apart. Parris won the Hodge outright and Gable had to share it, but Gable is worlds ahead of Mason.
Surprised no else agreed. Def. The 1st 4 was questionable.
Some beefy dudes, woof.
This guy on the football field would be incredible
Gable titan wow
The 🐐
Unnatural or the greatest wrestler ever
Gable keep winning Golds until they give you the flowers... you can be the goat
An underhook to ankle pick clinic.
*The best way to beat Gable is to be aggressive and pressure him.* Defensive styles or passiveness is just a sure fire way to lose.
Thanks, that’s what I’ll try when I wrestle him next week
Never have I wrestled before or actually followed it. But, why do people not get points for defending a double leg or single leg??
I was near the mat but could only hear bits and pieces. Parris was referring to him as DADDY tho. 🤷🏿♂️
Is it my imagination...or is Steveson even faster since college?
anyone thinking this was going to turn out any different, well, if you want to see a surprise upset, go check out Spencer Lee NCAA semi final this year.....otherwise, keep dreaming if you think Gable is going to lose to any of his American competitors......
L I don’t see anybody any time soon being able to match Gables size and speed… Mason is a phenomenal wrestler… Gable is in a league of his own tho
While stating that there are levels to this, at least acknowledge that Mason, at #2 is levels above #3 and about everyone else as well.
Like I said before, Paris only can win Ncaa because Gable is gone. He has 0 chance otherwise.
Wow, you really went out on a limb with that one. Congrats
Gable is a superb heavyweight, but what about Kule Snyder
Always love watching Parris get his ass handed to him by then better man.
Im so glad Gable didn't go to WWE. I hate it when that happens.
Wonder what the conversation was.. didn’t look hostile.

One Under Hook City
4 for that ankle pick??? I know he went to the back, but they were already out of bounds. I've seen other wrestlers with harser takedowns, throws, trips get less points. Favoritism?
Gable Steveson? Isn't he that actor from the WWE?
MMA fans are missing out big time with this young man going to the WWE. If he could train some basic striking techniques and submissions he’d brutalize any MMA organization’s heavyweight division.
Yeah but I think he has to weign in under 270 if I am not mistaken. In the UFC anyway. He'd have to cut weight to compete, no?
Not sure if he can strike (or take a punch), but once it got to the ground I'd certainly like his chances.
I agree that I would love to Gable in UFC. But I get the UFC's perspective. Not every elite grappler makes it in the UFC. Not everyone likes to punch and get punched. We have no idea how well Gable can take a hit.
The reason I thought Bo Nickel would be great in the UFC before he ever had his first fight was because Bo is a high level grappler but also has a mean streak. And he is a game planner. His game plan against Gabe Dean was very well executed.
I'm not saying Gable wouldn't be awesome in the UFC. But it is an unknown. Dana White isn't going to offer someone WWE money for an unknown.
Where does Steveson find training partners, my Gosh!
Place is PACKED
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Wrestling is 10x better than it was 10 years ago.
I heard M.Parris had a neck injury lmao
On the last slide, last moment of this video, that those boys were about to say nice things about each others mothers cooking... Just saying
Showboating is grounds for termination. Unless it's in retaliation.
He is a diff LEVEL
So is he not doing wwe?
Gable is a stud. That’s undeniable. He certainly doesn’t seem to have much humility though. Which taints his amazing performances imo.
His performance wasn’t tainted at all
@@joshuaarawole8589 that’s fine that his arrogance doesn’t bother you. I still get enjoyment from his wrestling too… I’m just saying, how much more respect do you have for an athlete who goes out there and crushes it, and then is also an excellent role model on top of it. I don’t like cocky showboating and lackluster attitudes. Go watch the match between arujau and deSanto. Arujau crushed him and has great sportsmanship.
@@Migh7yb00sh If this makes you upset, you must really hate Austin Desanto's crap?
@@XZOL445it doesn’t make me upset, but I think he has a bad attitude as well. Again, an awesome wrestler and I won’t not watch them because of it. But for people I want my boys to look up to? There’s way better role models in the wrestling world.
Parris talked shit to Gable for 2 years while getting his ass beat in college.
Nice too see GABLE DOING WHAT HE DOES BEST... THANKS FOR DOING YOUR FAMILY PROUD YOUNG MAN& YOUR BROTHER (
mason cant catch a break
I know these are two very elite wrestlers, but my God how do you not know how to belly out at this stage? He was not going to win but he needed to stop the bleeding.
HE'S GOING TO GET ANOTHER GOLD MEDAL NO PROBLEM !!!
RIDICULOUS!!! Dominating thennationional champion as if hes putting on a wrestling clinic for beginners.
Parris can’t have any confidence left. It appears he tries to wrestle Gable the same way every time . Well that way is not working.
He didn’t do anything basically. I saw one half-shot. Steveson initiated all the offense. Parris looked like an international wrestler in the finals-do nothing.
There’s always someone that has your number. Even if you’re a Hodge Trophy winner.
Let’s call it what it really is. Mason won NCAA cause gable left lol
Hope he puts all that WWE crap in his rearview mirror now.
I heard WWE encouraged his return to freestyle wrestling. Idk what their motive is or if that’s even true. There is A LOT more money to be earned in WWE than real wrestling…unfortunately.
Kurt Angle?
Rearview? He's going to make tens of millions of dollars. Putting it in the rearview is the last thing he'll do.
@@jaquanenglish5997 No, Brock Lesner.
What a horrible post. WWE is a huge opportunity. Bigger than ANYTHING wrestling can provide.
How the hell was that one takedown 4 points
Back exposure.
Here’s to hoping someone soon will smoke Gable the Arrogant.
That will never happen. If your this good then you can do whatever you please. Gable is the king.
Lol. Not happening.
There are a couple of international heavies who could conceivably beat him (obviously including Petriashvili, who really should have won that gold), but besides that you may be waiting a while.
I cannot believe gable just got dominated like that. It was sad to see. Don’t watch it
Wow how boring
What's boring about it?
Boring right. Go sumo wrestle
Gable is a bad dude
That was too easy
TOO MUCH FOR MASON
