What composure.
I like how this kid carries himself but still remains very aggressive. When he crowded the center and the other kid tried to wave him back, he didn’t budge. I like that style.
Kenny never panicked. A lot of patience for a young Jack.
That kid had to go into the Shark Tank to get that title. What a beast. Certified American Winning Machine.
Poland good sportsmanship
way to go Paul.... many more to come keep it up
I believe scoring is based on the highest value of holds: "The wrestler who scored the most points on a single hold is the winner. For example, a wrestler who scored a 2-point hold would beat a wrestler who scored nothing higher than 1-point holds. The final tiebreaker is whichever wrestler was the last one in the match to score a point would be declared the winner."
Congratulations to a fine young wrestler. World champion! Great job.
What a kid !!! Way to represent 🇺🇸 Wishing him lots of success !!
What a tournament. Congrats!!!
Our boys don't worry about the score...just scoring... future looks good!
That Iranian kid was acting like I expected him to act, very classy indeed!
Idk if I agree w the shot clock call on Japan he was initiating most of the action and that Iran match at the end was amazing glad I’m not a scoring official. But besides those two instances up or down he had great poise and control, really well done.
Congrats to Mr Kenny, go USA baby 🎉🎉
The FORCE is STRONG IN This OnE!!!
Prayers for MANY MORE CHAMPIONSHIPS.
PK Congratulations ...
God Bless You and your family.
Sooooo Proud of you.
See you at Practice. 😊
Kenny is in 100 pecent beast mode.
idk maybe 50 percent beast mode? cause he barely scraped by in the semi and final match
@@Arshi69still won though.
Tough Semi and Final, the Japanese wrestler had so much more class than the IRI
Seriously. IRI was a whiner.
The Japanese kid got robbed of a victory. He won that match and any objective person knows it.
@@ivanboesky1520 Keep coping loser USA #1
They all seem to be very poor losers.
@@ivanboesky1520are you saying the tournament wasn’t objective or just that one match.
I get excited for a young U.S. Champion. Makes me know that I have someone to watch out for years to come. We have come so far on the international scene. Coaches are doing a fantastic job across the country preparing young wrestlers to win big tournaments all over the world.
A solid collegiate wrestling base!
The kid from Iran really was celebrating even tho Kenny had the exposure
Judges did the job for the young dude right?
That was a difficult call. But, props to the Iranian kid for really going for it at the end. Would rather see that passion than some stall-fest.
Absolutely awesome job Paul! This was great to watch all the way through!!
That iranian is so goofy lol
Fr when he was Tryna get the challenge
Just a kid.
Insane competition
Those dudes are Tough with a capital T
That Semi Final was a nail biter. You're a beast!
Japan should have had a push out point.
Japan won, that dude got robbed
@@omaralberts9033 yup
Thanks for the excellent coverage Flo
love the man's flo and his style, very fluid shoots with purpose and has a full bag of technique and is quicker than you think. well done my man, you can see the old US folk style wrestling wrist control, shucks and duck unders good stuff young man good stuff
hell of a wrestler, great composure, and a hell of an aggression, so entertaining to watch
He earned that !!! There was no participation trophy that day😉
Hell of a run. Way to go!
Great job Paul! Unfortunately, the Iranians have cemented a reputation as crybabies.
That kid from Iran with that type of emotion iam sure he would be a good candidate for the revolutionary guard army
That match with the IRI wrestler was a good scrap and a perfect example of a stone cold vs an emotional athlete.
You know why buddy?
Because many things wont go right and as normal as it has to when it comes to iranian wrestlers specially judges and the mat judges and corner and center judges and so on and on and ..... it's like the iranian dude is wrestling with a whole bunch of people and it's always been this way unfortunately. 😢
That's why he got excited becuz he thought that he's beated many including the judges and ..... at the end his opponent on the mat. So, dont rush and jump to judge the iranian dude so fast buddy. They really deserve what they get becuz they try so hard for it and leave everything else aside and just live the wrestling life and it becomes their life for as long as they do wrestle. So, I dont think getting emotional would be a big deal after knowing all the hardships they go through right?
@mehdibavandpour7899 Blaming the officials, really? Kind of hard to use that excuse when they can challenge the score and go to replay. He wouldn't even shake his opponents hand. That goes beyond emotion. In the event of a tie the last wrestler to score wins. Kenny scored the last point.
@@Blue_Eyed_Chippewa
The judges made the last score better saying I guess. It didnt have a point but they gave him the point even tho the iranian dude had made the move and it was REALLY his. Yeah buddy, I do blame the officials they never judge impartially. Have never ever done it fairly when matching with the iranian wrestlers. He got emotional becuz he defeated all of them all together yet they robbed him from his well deserved win 🤔🤷🤦
@@Blue_Eyed_Chippewa
And what if they challenged the score? The result was clear buddy: challenge lost right?
@@mehdibavandpour7899I'm saying you can't blame the officials when replay is available. Because they go back and look to correct possible mistakes. They made the correct call. In the event of a tie the last wrestler to score wins by criteria. Do you not know the rules? No one got cheated by the officials. There was no bias involved. I've re-watched the end of that match 10 times now. Kenny scored the last point. And by rule that made him the winner. Quit crying and take the L.
His cardio and poise!
The only thing that shocked me was the officiating in the final.
Japan won that.
@@Jetsetfastfoodreally? How so?
Yeah, that 1 point award Kenny got in the final was as poor of a call as you’ll see. Both wrested great, but Kenny did not win that match, and any objective person knows that point awarded to him was total BS. Bogus stuff like that really reduces the credibility of the result. Deep down the Japanese kid and his team know they won that match.
Kenny got that slick duck under move, looks good!
Great job! Onto the next level…
Iranian crybaby 😢. Kid from Japan had more to be disappointed about. Great job by Paul.
Japan won that with the Pushout.
Yep, not only did they not award the Japanese kid a point for the clear push out, but the point they awarded Kenny was totally bogus. That was pure highway robbery in plain sight for all to see. Japanese kid clearly won that match and had it stolen from him. Hate seeing that kind of crap.
What a legend..
Congrats, bro!!
I remember myself young Kenny P. My bet? Next long term champion in lightbweight. He is patient, technical, doesnt freak out from eastern clinches….etc…etc. Amazing. US has a very good school of FS wrestling, so he will be looked after.
Holy sht. Kenny Powers had a kid… and the kid is also gonna be a pro athlete? Solid genes!
Seriously, this is an impressive young man. 🇺🇸💪🏻
I went to school with him and his brother, he’s world champ, his brother is #3 in the country right now but he’s 13, they’re crazy
LETS GOOOOO!!!! 💫🤼♂️💪🏻❤️
Would like to know what decisions go into the challenge. Like why they decided to award the points. Those were some weird scrambles against the Iranian.
They both scored an exposure but Paul scored his last. The last to score wins by criteria.
That match against the Iranian opponent was a challenge in both wrestling and scoring.
Just incredible
Great job Kenny!
Amazing the mind of such a young kid to be some cool under pressure. Wrestling is the best sport to develop life long skills where you can deal with anything cause you been through some shit. ❤
Can someone explain what a challenge is and how it's decided. I don't know much about wrestling lol
Kenny Powers is killing it in the wrestling game. Haha!
Congrats but why give the kid from Japan a stalling call when he's moving forward and just shot in for a take down? Not a great way to end a championship match.
Yeah, the Japanese kid got robbed in the final on both the point they awarded PK, which was completely bogus and the failure to award the Japanese kid a pt for a push out. Hate to see these matches determined by such poor calls. That Japanese kid won that match and any objective person watching this vid knows it.
Explain the final match please. Were points awarded as a wrestler was put on the clock? If so that seems like a very poor way to crown the winner with one guy just getting his point awarded later.. and even if not it still just seems like a very poor way to award a winner with being the last to get a 1 pt move. Congrats to Kenny. I just didnt like how this is decided.
Agreed. Kenny wrestled great, but that 1 point award in the final match to him was as bogus a call as it gets and any even semi objective person knows it.
Amazing job Kenny!!! Go figure the lack of respect from Iran!!
Calm, Cool and Collected, with Resilience on a 1000!!!!
It's "Funky" Ben Askren from Stranger Things 😂
What were the challenges in the Semi finals?
Unlimited energy
PK wrestled beautifully. He’s gonna be another great man with two first names. Congrats buddy you represented like a warrior. Is that James Green coaching him? If so I like this kid even more. And btw, that was ✌🏼at 9:42 with .2 sec left on the clock. 🙏🏼
PK*
That is Jordan Burroughs I believe coaching him.
@@samcooper4024 Good looking out man.
@@luccicosta9510 Even better. Thanks man 🙏🏼
The Iranian wrestler was overpowered by the judges
Awesome!
Unlike most sports, the better wrestler almost always wins.
Thank you for posting all these vids. Made my day. Kenny is a beast.
В схватке с японцем судья очень помог. Японец по сути выиграл
Nah
Hes got the 🐐 in his corner! Jordan Burroughs!
its james Green not JB
@@1890Orsy Looks like JB lol
Good job bro
Beautiful te guruma in match 1 for five points
What was the long delay about? It looked like the one wrrestler complained about something and wanted a review? Why did they take that long break?
This is the Way
Very cool... these guys battle. Helluva watch!!! SoCalFreddy
A triumph for Kenny. Keep those curly locks.
Can someone explain to me how they win if the score is tied? I know it’s a stupid question. Is it whoever scores the point last wins?
The whistle at 31:15 was crazy
Yeah Kenny was actually working for something there and I don’t feel like they were stopped in the same position long enough to call it, I think you can even seen Kenny sigh a bit bc he felt like he had something going
That Iranian kid was so dramatic lol
kid looks skinny, but is incredibly tough, the last 3 opponents lookd bigger but he held his own like a beast. great job what a stud!!!!!
Skinny - First year wrestling in high school I came up against one of those "skinny" kids. I chortled to myself. "Piece of cake". First, the kid was sinowy strong as strong can be. Second, that kid wrapped his spindly legs around me and squeezed my guts out. Almost fainted. After that: beware of the skinny ones!!!
13:50 what a move
I don’t know enough about wrestling, so can someone please teach me? Can anyone explain to me how he was declared the winner when the score was 1-1?
Can someone explain what the line under the scores are. I’m not used to wrestling scoring but I noticed the score a couple of times was “tied” but this young man had a line under his name and he obviously kept winning. Just curious what it means?
Late response but in a wrestling tie, the win goes to whoever scored off of higher point takedowns. So if someone scored 2 points off one takedown they would beat their opponent who for example scored two 1 point push outs
@@FireFox-nu5fd makes sense thank you!
BTW, subscribed!
ORZECHOWSKI the blue boy, is at least 3 years younger and 6 inch smaller. it was an uneven match.
bring back lightweights to sr mens division.. Nice job Paul
عالی ، سبک ایرانی را کامل کشتی گرفت. با آرزوی تداوم راهش.❤
How did he win the semi finals??
brutal
Why do they have no ear protection?
Future Cornellian...let's hope.
only thing i can even question is, why does he enjoy snapping down to a front headlock so much if hes just gonna sit till the stail with it lol. im confused on that one
I think it’s just a resting position for him, it puts his weight on his opponent to tire them out a bit while resting himself
Anyone else confused by the scoring late in the semi match?
105lbs energizer bunny
to be fair , I looked closely the Iran vs US , Paul show have lost both challenges if it was not for refs mistake . Iranian kid should have won 12 to 8 if not for sure 12 to 10 anyone knows abut wrestling could see it. Paul is great talent for years to come for the US team.
Paul is a great wrestler but he lost against IRI @ 21.42. The true result must have remained 6 to 8 in favor of IRI.
The shot clock on japan was unfair.
No it was cold
I don't like the last point winner when both points are because of passivity. It should be the other way around in that circumstance.
It’s crazy how everyone always talk bad about Athletes from jersey but I promise you… we’ve alway been hungry! Especially being such a small but (big state)
what style is this? Supposed to be Greco?
Ok…I don’t get it. I’m pretty new to freestyle wrestling. The last 2 matches ended in a tie. How did he win?
25:28 hey come on Iranian dude! Show some class and take that L.
No kidding.
DId he tie the last two matches? 8-8 vs Iran and 1-1 vs Japan? How did he win?
Maybe explain why he won when the score was 1-1
I'm quite disappointed in the sportsmanship of the other wrestlers.
BAYVILLE!!
I don't understand why he won the final match. Don't know the details of the rules in wrestling but they were tied and there didn't seem to be any foul or pin or anything...what happened?
