I purchased this bike brand new from a dealer for $9500 OTD price Aug 2024. So 12K is not always correct. My only complaint on this after 500 miles, is the seat is quite uncomfortable after 30 mins. You get off this thing in actual pain sometimes longer than that. The quick shifter, as it is, seems to shift really, really hard, and I am just not comfortable jamming it into gear the way it sounds. Clutch seems better choice and I don't mind that, love to shift, never wanted DCT bike. Screen is really quite awesome, not sure why tack flashes at me at 5500 RPM. Windscreen is useless really, so for that needs little bit more screen from aftermarket purchase to help cut down on being a Sail in the wind. For the positives, just pulls like lunatic speed in all gears. Will wheelie (if you want it to), in 2nd and 3rd gear. Personally while I have it in A=Aggressive mode, I have TCS=3 no wheelies. But still you feel it want to if you pull that throttle back. Quite a lot of fun. Lastly, it corners with total confidence, you never feel this thing squirmy on you. Could use better exhaust, but that voids your warranty and of course, also won't pass inspection in most states. That's true for most bikes.
@@rtzzz9772 thanks for the info. I noticed that if you let of throttle well using the quick shifter it would shift rough but with a quick shifter your suppose to be in the higher RPM so that would make sense.
I have been looking at the GSX8S for some time now but didn't buy one due to the inability to get an OTD price on these machines. I ended up with a second-hand Yamaha '22 XSR900. I did follow a GSX8S for a few laps at Barber and it looked like a "proper" sports bike with the deep lean angle and big rear tire.
@@Speedyspokes I avoid sportbikes due to their very high insurance rates. Most manufacturers offer their sportbikes in a naked version, and it's these naked versions that seem great values.
@@napalm_rn1295 yes a big part of it is the 6% sales tax and then the assembly fee and dealership fees. Unfortunately no way to get around that buying new.

@@langhamp8912 xsr/mt09 is a great bike those engines are amazing. I would easily get a mt09 over this. But I just enjoy naked bikes in general.

@@langhamp8912 that’s smart I didn’t even think about insurance. Yea the value is crazy tho on naked bikes.
I'm wondering why it's 12k out the door? Is that from import and assembly, taxes, interest? Any other Dealer fees?

It's not, trust me. It depends on the Dealership and how much BS fees they can sneak in. Don't be afraid to walk out and try a different dealership.
Mine was $7900 on sale
@ dang wtf how😂
I got mine for 13k OTD... I'm not sure if it's just ohio sales tax or what.
That Ricky Bobby’s bike?
@@dogscantplayguitar8925 yes it is😅
@ yep, I’d know that scuffed quad lock positioning anywhere, he put it on in a bad spot then immediately stripped the head of the screw hahahaha
Somewhere else luking like CBR 650R
