As an Electrical Engineer with extensive background in client/server networking... *this software is absolutely a scam.* The chance your local machine is bottlenecking your connection is virtually zero. Your router, your ISP, and local traffic at the time are what determine your ping and latency. NOT your local machine. The only thing you can ever do to improve your internet performance on your own PC is to get a wired rather than wireless connection, and to close out other programs using bandwidth. That's it. Perhaps more worrying, the program must be actually just manipulating how your game/PC/etc is measuring and displaying your ping/latency, which is even *more* shady. Really disappointed to see you promoting a scam, my guy.

11:49 Replays are what your local machine stores, so you should be able to cross reference replays to see if others (for example JSTN) saw the ghost hit as well.
Also, how are you supposed to fix this? It’s basically impossible without a LAN, it’s a miracle online multiplayer games work as smooth as they do
Your local machine "fixes" the replay a bit based on data that did come in eventually, so you won't see a ghost hit since the data says that didn't happen. Ghost hits only exist where data is missing, and in replays, the data isn't missing. It's just put back into order after the fact, which was not the order it happened in realtime. That's why all the angles you see in this video seem to be from streams. There may be small variations visible if you could get all the replays side by side, but it's unlikely to look like it did for Ayyjay. (Otherwise Fluump would've just gotten a replay and shown that in detail, i'm sure.)
That said, the style of "fill in the gaps" RL uses in realtime is called "Dead Reckoning", and Rocket League is really freaking bad at it. It's a simulation, which should be running on its own, and being changed by new data coming in from the servers when a car direction changes due to player input (the ball is part of the simulation, but the car isn't because we control those). And yet, the game can't go more than a fraction of a second without assuming ghost hits and unentered player movement. I feel like making the client do something random would yield a more consistent result. Packets are FAST. If Sypical hit the ball for Ayyjay and missed on the server, the prediction model wasn't even close after missing data for a only few milliseconds, and is garbage. But i guess we get what we pay for (though it did it back in the original S3 when i started, but whatever).

@@neofox2526 Yes it is, replays are client side. If you are lagging, but not everyone else, your replay will show that. If you're going to disagree then at least provide proof, not this "no that's not right", that doesn't prove anything
@@yeldarbnivot The replay generates slightly different results each time you watch it as it is generated on the fly and not a recording. Only the inputs are recorded and it is played out as a normal game where physics can differ. If you look up "how rl replays work" everyone says this.
@@Beeks81 Yes, absolutely. Maybe I didn't say it well enough, I meant client side predictions. The server corrects the (incorrect) client side states of objects, and that's why there is often a jitter. Packets are fast, but sometimes they get lost (RL uses UDP right) and so that's probably why the ghost hit happened, unless the packet arrived after some newer ones came through

Packet loss isn't an issue of Rocket League servers but of the ISP. At my old location I had 29 Ping and massive Packet loss at random times, usually peak Internet hours. In my new location I have 29 Ping and zero packet loss.

gc here and I just ‘ fat finger’ my boost and jump. Definitely don’t do this if you are learning fast aerials, definitely use R1

For console players the best possible way to get a playable experience is to play wired, game mode enabled on the TV (or a low response time monitor) and Vsync disabled in RL settings. In most cases with a stable wired connection ping is not the issue, desync is more prevalent and harder to diagnose than any other network issue and it doesn't really show up in network graphs. In order to get an optimal gaming experience desync needs to be mitigated otherwise it can make 29 ping behave like 160 ping, unfortunately desync is tied to infrastructure which makes it very difficult to deal with.
Skill issue, there is no desync in rl

I am convinced there is absolutely no way to fix this issue. It will theoretically (and consequently on a practical level too) always be possible in ANY online live service. Not only videogames. Literally anything. Even something as watching youtube might be enough to experience some packet loss sometimes. It's probably harder to notice because there is a thing called buffer, which pre-loads the stuff way before you actually get to see it, so the service has the time to adjust those packet losses with either error correction or simply resending them. But when you use a service that can't be pre-loaded and must receive packets live (like a live stream or a high pace videogame) it's simply not possible to deal with that in any better way than the one RL does.
People hate on RL for having this issues, but it's just stupid. It's not their fault. There is no way to make this kind of stuff impossible to happen. You can decrease the frequency sure, but it will always be possible.

Don’t forget Epic games is using tencent servers aka CCP there’s servers are horrible especially other games using tencent so yes that’s why the ping is so bad.
But in valve and steam, if cyanic should stay on steam or valve sold for steam from Psyonix , we won’t have this conversation of this bad ping

You may wanna study up differences btw system and network latency!! Packets are delivered in binary, ones and zeros! The CPU, decodes, and renders! Therefore system and network are interconnected.
This is not something psyonix can fix. Not like they put the internet cables in the ground themself. Also it is entirely possible that this wasn't caused by "lag" but simply the normal time it took for the data to arrive at Ayyjayys screen. Of all the things to blame psyonix/epic for this isn't one of them.

I have to run exit lag otherwise i get shit ping. Only game i have a problem with. 130ms to 40 w exit lag. Certain servers i dont have a problem with and get regular ping it doesnt make sense to me.
RL this season is literally unplayable , every three games there is a game with 200+ ping eu servers other games working pretty well just RL having high ping

Why did syp even go when no one else was on the ball? Nrg was at midfield. Panic on defense plus packet loss is what lost this game.

Ayyjayy predicted someone behind the ball and when he saw the ball got touched to the side, he sideflippes. BUUUT if you know your m8 is clearing the ball, backflip and stay close to net. This story is really old and rocket league has changed my man

Please feel free to answer this. Has anyone been stuttering? Not lag, but frames drop really quick during random moments or during crazy moments that seem to happen every game. Is it my computer or is it the game or is it some settings or is it possibly lag but without the indication of lag/packet loss?

if you watch the replay on the rlcs channel you can see that the ghost touch happened. It's much more drastic on Ayyjayy's screen but it was there for everyone
I have experience this every rl player has had to have experienced this if you haven’t you just didn’t notice… it will even appear in replays after a goal if it happens yet you just have to sit there watching it happen unfortunately.
@9:00 you don't need a console for this. The difference is the monitor vs a TV screen. TVs has way more input delay in general
