    G'day Mr. Salyer & Mr. JJ. Great 24hr Challenge and with the undulations & downpour makes it more challenging especially for the minors. A 10 points to all of them for participating. We (3 of us) just returned from a 3 day camping. The weather was totally opposite to you guys, very hot, dry & the breeze is like it's coming out from a blowtorch. It was Hot.! We were prepared, we knew the weather & location but we didn't expect to see so many snakes. A survivalist would say "Food"! but I'm a vegan & my twin sisters are vegetarian. Lucky snakes.! Anyway we survived to haunt both of you more...! After 3 days of not communicating with mum & dad, it makes you appreciate what you have. Now back to the challenge. We would take 1) Waterproof Tarp, it's a tent without its fiberglass frames. It would have been perfect for Mr.JJ with his "bigfoot" bedding. 2) Grayl - for contingency. It's a light weight filtration & water carrier. 3) Torch light with multiple setting including Red & Green light. You folks call it Flash light. 4) A knife would be good but we choose our Multitool, it's modified for bushcraft usages. 5) First Aid that would have to be complimentary to the bush. You guys call it woods. Of course we're not going to tell Mr. Salyer that our pockets are full of vegan & vegetarian snacks & energy bars & sherberts and wet wipes. We're girls OK.?! Love the vid. Love you both. Always getting & learning new things from both of you. Well.."Drop Bears are actually Koala Bears whom are not bears but Marsupials, meaning they carry their young in Pouches around the belly. We tell tourist & foreigners stories of Drop Bears jumping off trees & attacking them on the ankles. Outsiders seem to think that Australia have strange animals. We do actually, they're call Yowie or Bunyip. That's another story. In the meantime... Fuel the Fires. Happy Lunar Year to all in The Land of the Brave. Cheers from The Land Down Under.

    • @FueltheFires
      @FueltheFires 11 місяців тому +1

      Ahhhhh- finally, the “drop bear” mystery is solved! Haha.. Thanks! Glad to hear y’all are back and doing well.. I definitely would have ate the snakes lol- totally respect y’all’s choices though… I brought a kit the audience here picked for me- not my usual load out.. Made due with the choices Jason made us make.. We did the thing and made it to the other side.. Great to see we were surrounded by women and children as well- they did great.. Love y’all’s choices for gear and love and appreciate each and every one of you.. Tell momma I really enjoyed her commentary while y’all were camping 🔥❤️🔥

    Hi SD😊❤
    So after watching the video like a good few days ago I have come to the conclusion that you definitely want a tarp a poncho at least one of them if not both, a knife with plenty of cordage on the sheath, a water container preferably one with a filter as it would be easier and the nesting cup to a company it, and obviously a way of guessing a fire together but being aware if it poors down and there's no dry wood do you need that poncho or a tarp, always a knife with cordage and at least one torch with more than one lighter and Ferro rod, and then any food is a bonus😊 as you can tell by the look on Jay's face😅😊😊, fuel the fires looked so happy for having food😊.
    PS your clothing is the first line of Defence for your body regarding to the weather so you need to be warm and dry have something to drink a way of getting a fire together but if not at least being warm and dry with a way of being able to see in the dark if you have to leave😊

    Great to see the young ones out there learning, as well as watching adults as they struggle. Good environment for survival education. I even learned some things. First, I thought I would dig out a bed to make it level, however, that expends a lot of energy and seeing how a bed was rolled up next to a tree made it very simplistic, and the moss was a great topper. Great video.
