Yup. Geddy's voice is unique - and polarizing. I'm a fan along with just being a Rush fan in general. And in live performances, he was singing while playing complex bass guitar lines and sometimes working foot pedals. Geddy Lee is probably the ultimate multi-tasker in rock!

@@thijswolbers7360 Then everyone does, because very few of them do anything Unique other than sounding like themselves, which hate to beak it to you, everyone does. Take Cobain for example, out of the 4 big Seattle bands he had the worst and least Unique sound. You can find people singing like him in any live bar in the country, there's nothing special about his voice. Staley, Cornell and Vedder have far more range and Unique sounds than Cobain, Especially Cornell.
No Kate Bush? Stevie Nicks? Tiny Tim? Ozzy? Kurt Cobain? I won't argue that some on the list are not legends, but I thought we were going for "unique" here? Who came up with this list?
Some not mentioned, maybe not the best but unique. Roy Orbison, Otis Redding, Janis Joplin, Johnny Cash, Howlin Wolf, James Brown, Van Morrison, Billie Holiday, Thom Yorke, Geddy lee
I saw Leon Redbone at the Birchmere in Virginia about 20 years ago..OMG he was amazing. And came out in a white suit, opened up his guitar case, pulled out a polaroid camera, and took a pic of the audience..hysterical..
Kate Bush, Stevie Nicks (Fleetwood Mac), Aretha Franklin, Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra, Roy Orbison, Elvis Presley, Poly Styrene (X-Ray Spex), Florence Welch (Florence + The Machine), Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Ella Fitzgerald, Edith Piaf, Kurt Cobain (Nirvana), Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin), Black Francis (Pixies), Robert Smith (The Cure), Michael Stipe (R.E.M.), Joni Mitchell, John Lennon (The Beatles), Paul McCartney (The Beatles), Debbie Harry (Blondie), Karen Carpenter (The Carpenters), Hope Sandoval (Mazzy Star), Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Otis Redding, Patti Smith, Judy Garland, Mick Jagger (The Rolling Stones), Frankie Valli, Tori Amos, Regina Spektor, George Michael (Wham!), Buddy Holly, PJ Harvey, Nick Cave, Thom Yorke (Radiohead), James Dean Bradfield (Manic Street Preachers) This list doesn't even scratch the surface.
I think the reason they didn't put people like Elvis Presley or Stevie Nicks is because so many others are always Imitating them. So much so, that they no longer sound "unique" anymore... I would have put *Barry Gibb* on this list. Very few men can pull off a falsetto range like he could...
I like your list much better than theirs...also what about Amy Winehouse, Willie Nelson(Willie just has to sing one word and you know it's him), Colter Wall, Tyler Childers, Joey Ramone, Hank Williams 3, Levon Helms(The Band), Tim Armstrong(Rancid), Lucinda Williams, Lou Reed, Fred Schneider(The B52's), Patsy Cline, Noddy Holder(Slade), gee I can't think of more just off the top of my head right now you have already listed most of the people I would have mentioned, and Neil Young, Leonard Cohen, and Louie Armstrong should all be on that list not honorable mentions...Like Michael Jackson has a more voice unique voice than any of these people???
Agreed, he needed to be in the top 5. I'm a baritone, dime a dozen, and have sung with some great tenors over the years, nobody came close to Chris for power, projection, and quality, as high as he wanted to go. The man had limitless range, in full chest voice, never had to resort to nose vocie.
DoomCro1 OMG! I looked him up and you are exactly right! He sounds EXACTLY like Chris! I had never heard of him! This is weird as hell! I love this guy!
No order, but my list(Not a Top 10) of most unique/quick to recognize: -Tom Waits -King Diamond -Freddie Mercury -Billy Corgan -Phil Anselmo -Joe Cocker -Axl Rose -Lemmy Kilmister -Barry Gibb -Janis Joplin -Marilyn Manson -Michael Jackson -Bob Dylan -Frank Sinatra -Tom Petty -Dexter Holland -Bruce Springsteen Those are the only ones off the top of my head. If you know who they are you know exactly when you hear them.
Brian Molko frontman for Placebo definitely deserves a place on this list. You've chosen famous, easily recognized singers. Huge difference between distinct, famous voice and unique voices. I agree with Björk. In saying that, all voices are unique.
@TOM You clearly have a a lot of time on your hands peeping Tom. Reading comments from a year ago?! Hands down, your comment made a huge difference in my life. Imma go cry about it.
Yes, indeed. I named several names via unique voices. I hope there is a pt 2. Omg, i am infuriated they murdered Chester & Chris. They were exposing these wicked ppl for the despicable crimes they've done & are still doing. It was shared Podesta was Chester's bio father & he was allowed in the home to abuse Chester. These evil predators will reap what they have sown. Chester & Chris were good hearted, altruistic, & inspired so many ppl.
Dolores o'riordan she was amazing a mighty little Powerhouse RIP. I saw her in concert at the Noize Factory in Philly. They are all indeed unique greats. I grew up with Michael. 80s music is the best. My favourite who was on your cover picture for the video is Björk my Scandinavian Scorpio sistar. I saw her in concert 3 times from east to west and Back Again. She performed in a small Church in Oakland and then on a huge stage with enormous explosive fire on Coney Island and New York City. I've been listening to her since she was a little girl singing gling Glo and with a sugar cubes as a punk rock teen. Motorcrash best song. Tapitkerass incredible also. The Icelandic band Sigur Ros opened for her. They are quite amazingly original too👊👽 but no one can replicate or even come near to Legendary Björk Gudmondottirs voice. Great job here mate 🎶💃🏿💃🏼💃🏽 cha cha cha!
Ozzy Osbourne, Kurt Cobain, Billie Joe Armstrong, M.Shadows, ELVIS FUCKING PRESLEY, Corey Taylor, Johannes Eckerstömm, Serj Tankian, Marilyn Manson, Dolores O'Riordan, Chester Bennington, Jake Bugg, Boy George and Johnny Cash?! I know some of them have a bigger impact on the music industry than others, but all the above are very indistinguishable in sound.
Tom Petty, Cyndi Lauper, Jim Morrison, Ozzy Osbourne, Jimmie Hendrix - just to name a few with very Unique voices(had to remove Louie Armstrong cause he was in the Honorable Mentions)
+Ashers Mc It wasn't about powerful, it was about unique. Admittedly not many people did that speaking/singing thing like Jim did, but I still don't see it being "unique".
+Ashers Mc lol I can recognize hundreds of singers by one note, but that doesn't mean they are unique in how they deliver the notes, phrases, etc. Paul Stanley from Kiss ha(d) a hugely powerful voice but I would NEVER tell you it was unique. Paul Rodgers has an awesome rock voice, but again, I can't call it unique. Someone like Layne Staley, hugely unique. Mike Patton, hugely unique how he delivers his voice.
A few more essential mentions (in no particular order) Elvis Presley Johnny Cash Janis Joplin Willie Nelson Tina Turner Tracy Chapman Kurt Cobain (Nirvana) Phil Collins Stevie Wonder Elton John Michael Bolton Dolores O'Riordan (The Cranberries) Barry Gibb (Bee Gees) Ali Campbell (UB40) Alanis Morissette Sheryl Crow Norah Jones and more... Lady Gaga (ummm.... well... you decide :)
Nick Hersheys Elton John is so amazing! His voice is like beyond beautiful! When he sang I feel like a bullet in the gun of Robert Ford, I nearly cried!
I went to a couple of his shows. One of them he must have been feeling very country that night, because he sang all of his well known early songs in a heavily country song manor. Great if you want variety, but I kind of wanted to hear them in a way similar to the original version. Just my opinion.
Joanna Newsom is basically a copy of the originator of he Avantgarde theatrical styles of Kate Bush which is why Kate Bush should be on the list..not Joanna Newsom. As for others.. Geddy Lee should absolutely be on that list.
Joanna is a folk singer and harpist. Wtf. Kate is an art pop singer. The lyrical style is very similar, but that’s it. Kate bush deserves to be on this list she was a theatrical, avant- garde singer. Joanna deserves to be on this list to she is avant garde baroque folk singer. The only thing common between them is their avant garde aproach to song writing.
Top 10 is just too short for this kind of list: Thom Yorke, Liam Gallagher, Mick Jagger, Matthew Bellamy, Serj Tankian, Morrissey, Yannis Philippakis, Brandon Flowers, Janis Joplin, and so on.
Ðavy Liam definitely deserves a spot. I'm not saying because Oasis is my fave band (definitely not...), his voice is very recognizable and nobody sounds like him, not even his brother. Coming to think about Yannis, you're right, he actually sounds like every other indie rock singer.
Chris Cornell, Chester Bennington, Chrissy Hynde, Amy Whitehouse, The Righteous Brothers, Roy Orbison, Timi Yuro, Brenda Lee, Delhi Shannon, Eva Cassidy, Ral Donner, Tom Jones, Lulu, Dusty Springfield, Shirley Brassey, Eartha Kitt, Tobias Sammet, M Shadows, Robin Gibb, Dolores O'Riordan plus too many more to name
The list is not about "great" voices, don't get yourselves confused know. A unique voice is a completely different thing from technically great. For example Lemmy. His voice isn't anywhere near good but the uniqueness of it makes it great.
Prince had a very unique voice. He was able to hit high and low notes. In his first five albums, he sang all the vocals, harmony, and played all 27 instruments. He was a expert in many kinds of music including pop, rock, funk, jazz, rap, and heavy mental. He also was a great dancer. He was known as a musical genius.💜💜👁️👁️🎸🎸
Chester Bennington. He suffered with that voice. He had incredible pain and was sick but he gave concerts his all even if he had to run backstage to vomit. He could scream one second and then sing beautifully. RIP...I was convinced as a teen that I was gonna marry him lol..
Wait what? I've been a LP fan since I heard In the End debute on the radio and I had no idea he suffered sickness like that. Makes his death more tragic. T_T!
There's something strange about your list. Although i appreciate most of them, I think your top 3 can't be in the same list of unique voices. They all three remind me of Kate Bush. And that means Kate Bush should be topping this list (and immediately being disqualified because of inspiring too many singers)
+PianoAngelOfSnow I just came here to see if kate Bush was included. Joanna Newsom is a fine singer, but her "avant garde" style seems to borrow heavily from Kate.
She was one of the first that I thought of when I read the title. Then Sinead O'Connor, Amy Lee, Jerry Lee Lewis, Jack White. Unique voices. Like the title says.
Oh my god, there are so many singers with unique voices : Regina Spector, Florence and the Machine, Cranberries, Corey Taylor, Rufus Wainwright , Lana Del Rey, Adele, Serj Tankian even fucking Elvis. Marylin Manson. Even Mariah Carey ( which I do not like personally ) , Whitney Huston , RHCP, Sigur Ros, Amy fucking Winehouse , Muse, Placebo, Woodkid,- I think you should filter the selections by years or genre.
They have unique voices and instantly recognizable and have great success. just because you do not like them that doesn't mean they do not have a unique voice
I'm with you on this, but I'm pretty baised since I grew up listening to his music thanks to my parents being a huge fan of big band-era music. Most of the people on here belong, for sure, but I think Armstrong absolutely deserves a place on here alongside Ray Charles. Some of the more recent artists could have been replaced because they're all super generic, especially the 80's-90's types. Maybe just leave one in, whoever people consider to be the archetypical one, but leave the rest out.
Sinead O'Connor, Tori Amos, Alison Goldfrapp, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Cat Power, Demis Roussos, Frank Zappa, Morrissey, Beth Gibbons (Portishead), Amy Winehouse, Nikolaj Manuel Vonsild (Singer of "When Saints Go Machine"), Dillon, Macy Gray... to be continued :)
Marin Vladimir This would make sense if people were mostly saying- "I find that 'X' artist is more unique because_____", instead of- "Watchmojo You fucked up again why wasn't 'X' there instead of 'X' they're just 'better'. People aren't coming up with constructive conversations that allow people to contribute assertively; they're just bitching because they don't know how the voting system works or just want to stir up trouble, or maybe they really are that emotionally unstable.
Bono? Johnny Cash? Annie Lennox? Louis Armstrong? Meat Loaf? Aimee Mann? Cyndi Lauper? Shaggy? Jack Black? Roger Daltrey? Nick Cave? Bonnie Tyler? Gianna Nannini? Sean Paul?
I feel like this list was lacking in female voices just in general. Cyndi Lauper, Macy Gray, Aretha Franklin, Lana Del Rey, Amy Winehouse, Dolores O'Riordan (Cranberries), Ann Wilson (Heart), Carol Burnett? Um... HELLO Janis Joplin?? There are so many talented singers. Maybe they should have just done one list for men and one for women. Because they did miss plenty of male singers, too.
Ozzy Osbourne, Axl Rose, Chris Cornell, Marilyn Manson, Steven Tyler, Dave Grohl, Jonathan Davis, Serj Tankian, Miles Kennedy, Chino Moreno and so on. Sorry not sorry for my rock oriented list.
Gene Pitney had a distictive unique voice which you can't really mistake once you hear it. Also: George Jones, Grandpa Jones, Brad Roberts from Crash Test Dummies, Paul Robeson, James Brown, Shakira and Kate Bush
+Karami42 I'm old enough to have seen Udo in concert. Fantastic voice. Serj had one of the most unique voices ever and Sabbath, Ozzy's original band is the reason I love metal.
+Spy Retto I thought the same as well. Kate Bush singing 'Wuthering Heights' used to give me nightmares when I was tiny, according to my mum. I'd start crying- I think it's because I thought she was a ghost or something
Many other deserving singers. I'll give you just one: Kate Bush.
Her voice sends shivers down my spine!
100%
Yes. Tori Amos, so many more
And don't forget: Annie Lennox, Sinead O'Connor, Grace Jones.

@@hammerhiem75 In my opinion, these musicians mentioned above have pure unique voices 😁
Roy Orbison, Otis Redding, Janis Joplin, Johnny Cash, Howlin Wolf, James Brown, Van Morrison, Billie Holiday, Thom Yorke, Geddy lee
where is Leon Redbone, Vitas, and Johnny Cash
Steven Murphy lol I know that vitas dude.... he's incredible. That high note tho. He's Russian, that's why he's scarcely known ;(
I saw Leon Redbone at the Birchmere in Virginia about 20 years ago..OMG he was amazing. And came out in a white suit, opened up his guitar case, pulled out a polaroid camera, and took a pic of the audience..hysterical..
Entertainment World oooooo I forgot about Geddy!
Dave Matthews, Rod Stewart, James Hetfield, Cyndi Lauper...
Freddie was one of a kind and the best we'll ever see.
Kate Bush, Stevie Nicks (Fleetwood Mac), Aretha Franklin, Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra, Roy Orbison, Elvis Presley, Poly Styrene (X-Ray Spex), Florence Welch (Florence + The Machine), Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Ella Fitzgerald, Edith Piaf, Kurt Cobain (Nirvana), Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin), Black Francis (Pixies), Robert Smith (The Cure), Michael Stipe (R.E.M.), Joni Mitchell, John Lennon (The Beatles), Paul McCartney (The Beatles), Debbie Harry (Blondie), Karen Carpenter (The Carpenters), Hope Sandoval (Mazzy Star), Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Otis Redding, Patti Smith, Judy Garland, Mick Jagger (The Rolling Stones), Frankie Valli, Tori Amos, Regina Spektor, George Michael (Wham!), Buddy Holly, PJ Harvey, Nick Cave, Thom Yorke (Radiohead), James Dean Bradfield (Manic Street Preachers)
This list doesn't even scratch the surface.
Hello whoever you are you mske the best case for these artists..you should have compiled this list I think you are dead on
I think the reason they didn't put people like Elvis Presley or Stevie Nicks is because so many others are always Imitating them. So much so, that they no longer sound "unique" anymore... I would have put
*Barry Gibb* on this list.
Alison Shaw (Cranes).

I think Chris Cornell had a very unique and awesome voice!
Awesome? Absolutely. Unique? Unfortunately not so much. Check out Richie Kotzen, the two of them are often mistaken for vocal similarities
Chris Cornell is really great vocalist but not unique unfortunately.
Chris Cornell captured my soul
No order, but my list(Not a Top 10) of most unique/quick to recognize:
-Tom Waits
-King Diamond
-Freddie Mercury
-Billy Corgan
-Phil Anselmo
-Joe Cocker
-Axl Rose
-Lemmy Kilmister
-Barry Gibb
-Janis Joplin
-Marilyn Manson
-Michael Jackson
-Bob Dylan
-Frank Sinatra
-Tom Petty
-Dexter Holland
-Bruce Springsteen
Those are the only ones off the top of my head. If you know who they are you know exactly when you hear them.
#barrygibb1st
+Jim Garrison i agree axl should be there
for a unique voice I would add the bee gees like them or not
No Beatles? Heck, I can recognize any of their vocals, as solo singers, never mind the band. Especially Ringo.
+Jim Garrison Better list than what Mojo put up. I would add Elvis to that list.
Brian Molko frontman for Placebo definitely deserves a place on this list. You've chosen famous, easily recognized singers. Huge difference between distinct, famous voice and unique voices.
I agree with Björk.
In saying that, all voices are unique.
Hands down, Kate Bush 🖤
@TOM You clearly have a a lot of time on your hands peeping Tom. Reading comments from a year ago?! Hands down, your comment made a huge difference in my life. Imma go cry about it.
Billy joel, TomYork, Elton John, Souixie Sioux, Kate Bush, Janis Joplin, Natalie Merchant, Gordon Gano, Tom Petty....... Naw?
dolores o'riordan, annie lennox??? yes janis and natalie, and where is Ms Lauper??? Michael Stipe??
Tom Petty
Michael McDonald
Sia
Chester Bennington
Stevie Nicks
That's not a good list. Those are all conventional pop voices
@@jesseleeward2359 ah yes, I love the great pop singers, Tom petty, Chester bennington, and stevie nicks
I add Kate Bush
Sia is anything but "conventional". No one can reproduce her vocals.
Crytica calm down
Crytica ELVIS PRESLEY ISN'T THER?!!!
Crytica Nah not M.Shadows
Crytica especially Charles Bennington
And Janis Joplin and Axl Rose too.

Elvis Presley
Johnny Cash
Janis Joplin
Willie Nelson
Tina Turner

Kurt Cobain (Nirvana)
Phil Collins
Stevie Wonder
Elton John
Michael Bolton
Dolores O'Riordan (The Cranberries)
Barry Gibb (Bee Gees)

Lady Gaga (ummm.... well... you decide :)
Chester Bennington had very unique voice aswell
Kurt of course!! What about Hank Williams... tho
Yes, you too, Karen dear :)
Nick Hersheys Elton John is so amazing! His voice is like beyond beautiful! When he sang I feel like a bullet in the gun of Robert Ford, I nearly cried!
Alanis Morisette.........good one
Bob Dylan, you either love him or hate him. I think he's amazing.
He's phenomenal! I mean "Desolation Row", have you listened people?
He's not unique
Idk was always annoyed by his nasal voice
I went to a couple of his shows. One of them he must have been feeling very country that night, because he sang all of his well known early songs in a heavily country song manor. Great if you want variety, but I kind of wanted to hear them in a way similar to the original version. Just my opinion.
Joanna Newsom is basically a copy of the originator of he Avantgarde theatrical styles of Kate Bush which is why Kate Bush should be on the list..not Joanna Newsom. As for others.. Geddy Lee should absolutely be on that list.
AGREED.
@Milo O' Rourke Not alike.... but reminiscent of. If she's a fan of Kate, it's a blatant rip off.
Kate Bush isnt on this list? Are you serious?
So many people have copied Kate Bush. Tori Amos and Bat for Lashes are among the most notable.
+zarko stanic Liam Gallagher and the dude from Foals aren't that special I guess, but the rest I would agree about
+zarko stanic I think Sia and Elle King are different, too, but maybe they sound like someone else? They seem very new to me.
Ðavy Liam definitely deserves a spot. I'm not saying because Oasis is my fave band (definitely not...), his voice is very recognizable and nobody sounds like him, not even his brother. Coming to think about Yannis, you're right, he actually sounds like every other indie rock singer.
Cassidy Graybosch I know i've heard Elle's voice somewhere else, not too sure. Sia, yeah.
+zarko stanic I'd also add Chino Moreno
Louie Armstrong is for me the most unique voice in music. Along with Brendon Urie, The Bee Gees and Tyler I-/
How could you forget Steve Perry whom nicknamed 'The Voice'
Chris Cornell, Chester Bennington, Chrissy Hynde, Amy Whitehouse, The Righteous Brothers, Roy Orbison, Timi Yuro, Brenda Lee, Delhi Shannon, Eva Cassidy, Ral Donner, Tom Jones, Lulu, Dusty Springfield, Shirley Brassey, Eartha Kitt, Tobias Sammet, M Shadows, Robin Gibb, Dolores O'Riordan plus too many more to name
Julie hermiz I miss Cornell in this list
Freddie should be number one. Nobody has and/or ever will have a voice as great as his.
Completely subjective. And in my opinion, Eddie Vedder has a way better voice.
The list is not about "great" voices, don't get yourselves confused know. A unique voice is a completely different thing from technically great. For example Lemmy. His voice isn't anywhere near good but the uniqueness of it makes it great.
I agree with you..Fredy from all of them have most powerful und specific voice who can sing many octaves. ..
They did not just call Ray Charles, who is blind, a visionary man.
irony lulz
What you seeeeee is like 36% of are visuals derp
There is more to him than meets the eye.
Metaphorically YES!
omg😂😂😂😂😂
I always loved Björk! Tom Waits makes me think that is what Hellboy would sound like singing.
He is up in heaven rocking and playing his guitar 🎸🎶💜.
Chester Bennington. He suffered with that voice. He had incredible pain and was sick but he gave concerts his all even if he had to run backstage to vomit. He could scream one second and then sing beautifully. RIP...I was convinced as a teen that I was gonna marry him lol..
No one can sing that mans music. He had a very unique voice.
Yeah that's one guy where when you heard him sing you knew immediately who it was.
I love him so much. He's my favorite singer ever
Chris Cornell
Wait what? I've been a LP fan since I heard In the End debute on the radio and I had no idea he suffered sickness like that. Makes his death more tragic. T_T!
I'm SO HAPPY that Joanna Newsom is here, but I missed the Bee Gees, Jonna Lee, Karin Dreijer and most of all KATE F*UCKING BUSH!!!! WHERE IS SHE
YES! someone else wondering where Kate Bush is!
+Natan Caetano Never heard of Newsome but that they put her here and not Kate Bush is unbelievable. And where is Annie Lennox fer feck's sake!

Kate Bush is founder and CEO in the company THE WHOLE FREAKING WORLD™
also Björk is God and Enya is Chronos, so I think we're pretty much safe.
IMOGEN HEAP SHOULD ALSO BE HERE.
Wow, these singers have such amazing voices, it was so awesome to hear them express their special voices to everyone, thumbs up to all of them
10. Trent Reznor
9. Pj Harvey
8. Grace Jones
7. Layne Staley
6. Tricky
5. Beth Gibbons
4. Thom Yorke
3. Tori Amos
2. Joanna Newsom
1. Bjork
halleluia,someone mentionned Layne!
LAYNE STALEY! FUCKING THANK YOU! JESUS THIS LIST WAS RETARDED!
Hadn't Axl Rose had a unique voice before he got fat and old? ^^
There's something strange about your list. Although i appreciate most of them, I think your top 3 can't be in the same list of unique voices. They all three remind me of Kate Bush.
And that means Kate Bush should be topping this list (and immediately being disqualified because of inspiring too many singers)
erik5374 I understand Kate Bush inspiring Tori and Joanna, but come on.... Bjork and Kate Bush have nothing to do with each other.
Are you kidding me? Michael should have been #1. But I am glad to see that Bjork was right behind him. RIP MJ & DB.
AND FM.
No one can top Tom Waits in uniqueness
+robynsegg Exactly what i thought, Michael has the most unique voice
+robynsegg It said most UNIQUE, not your favorite.
+robynsegg Armstrong should be first!
What about Elvis Presley, Lemmy kilmister, James Hetfield, Johnny cash or Kurt Cobain?
And Aqua
Or tiny tim
So glad you have Bjork her credit. She has a beautiful voice. It takes you to another word.🥀
You left out Kate Bush! That's a beautiful, unique voice!
I so agree!
Kate Bush!
Kate!
Yeah, Kate should have been on this list for sure!!
The man with the child in his eyes is genius
Kate Bush doesn't get a mention? Come on! D=
Bingo.
I second this
I was about to post the same thing!
+PianoAngelOfSnow I just came here to see if kate Bush was included. Joanna Newsom is a fine singer, but her "avant garde" style seems to borrow heavily from Kate.
Omg I thought I was the only one!
I expected to see Dolores O'Riorden of the Cranberries on this lists...
Rebecca Petrovic me too
She was one of the first that I thought of when I read the title. Then Sinead O'Connor, Amy Lee, Jerry Lee Lewis, Jack White. Unique voices. Like the title says.
That's because they are counting down THEIR picks, not yours! ;P
Rebecca Petrovic ye
Rebecca Petrovic RIP
“Run over by a train and decided to sing about it”
Jajajajajajajajja Jajajajajajajaa Jajajajajajaja that was a good one
Oh my god, there are so many singers with unique voices : Regina Spector, Florence and the Machine, Cranberries, Corey Taylor, Rufus Wainwright , Lana Del Rey, Adele, Serj Tankian even fucking Elvis. Marylin Manson. Even Mariah Carey ( which I do not like personally ) , Whitney Huston , RHCP, Sigur Ros, Amy fucking Winehouse , Muse, Placebo, Woodkid,- I think you should filter the selections by years or genre.
Adele? Florence and the Machine? Lana del rey?
You gotta be kiddin me
They have unique voices and instantly recognizable and have great success. just because you do not like them that doesn't mean they do not have a unique voice
lana del rey???,,,,,
I like constructive discussions like these. Keep going. 0
008Invisibleman looool thank you
Dolores O’Riordan? Also I was pretty disappointed with Freddie Mercury being only 6.
Dolores's voice wasn't unique she just sang with a Irish accent. Also I agree that Freddie should be number 6 on this list.
Dolores O Riordan of the Cranberries was definitely unique
Agreed
marina is as well
Yep. Many unique female singers were absent on this list.
She never left the Limerick out of her accent.
Mojo has something against her, she is not included in any list of theirs
There are so many, but Karen Carpenter deserves a mention.

Unique voice on Music Stevie Nicks..Yess
Axel Rose should have made this list.

Baaaaaaaah! Baaaaaaaah!!!
Barry Mays Billie Corgan doesn't scream, I'm confused
Freddie Mercury has by far the most unique voice and Bob Dylan's songs are phenomenal but his voice isn't that extraordinary.

bob dylan sucks!
Daniolos Car
Daniolos Carlos Plus you can barely understand the Dylan mumble. Still ... a genius.

Geddy Lee from Rush
yaaaaass
Yep! See my recent post!
YES.
I was just about to comment that
Yes!!
Louis Armstrong should be way more than an honorable mention.
By far the strangest most unique voice out there
i was expecting Chris Cornell too
I'm with you on this, but I'm pretty baised since I grew up listening to his music thanks to my parents being a huge fan of big band-era music.
Felice nah, Michael Jackson's voice is totally unique especially all the ad libs and screams and words he puts in
awesome. next time do the TOP 10 MOST UNIQUE VOICES IN ROCK MUSIC

yeah, yeah everybody is making a list of people who deserves to be in the list.
+Richard LP
I really have to wonder how people can be so stupid.
+Luke DS Nas, Nas, Nas, Ad-Rock and Nas
+Richard LP Yeah, I thought that "So, do you agree with our selections? Who has your favorite unique voice in music?" meant we should do exactly that.
Marin Vladimir
This would make sense if people were mostly saying-
"I find that 'X' artist is more unique because_____", instead of-
"Watchmojo You fucked up again why wasn't 'X' there instead of 'X' they're just 'better'.
People aren't coming up with constructive conversations that allow people to contribute assertively; they're just bitching because they don't know how the voting system works or just want to stir up trouble, or maybe they really are that emotionally unstable.
When channels ask people for feed back in the comments they don't ask for people to practically have a textual temper tantrum.
What about Shaggy, Cindy Lauper, Axl Rose, Elvis…. these guys have pretty amazing very uncommon vocals than some others mentioned in the video. 🤷🏻♂️🤔

Well you can get that its him with only 1 word. It is what unique means for me
how is Cyndi Lauper not listed ! her voice is so recognizable... I have never heard anyone come close..
True!

Ozzy Osbourne, Axl Rose, Chris Cornell, Marilyn Manson, Steven Tyler, Dave Grohl, Jonathan Davis, Serj Tankian, Miles Kennedy, Chino Moreno and so on. Sorry not sorry for my rock oriented list.
Dave Grohl is not unique, a awesome singer but his voice is much like Matt from Metallica and a lot oh heavy metal vocalists.
Matt Hetfield?

+Pablo Castro YES. Not putting her on number one makes this whole list questionable.
+Pablo Castro goddess sparkle...beautiful human being, good heart and very sincere. she changed my life in ever good ways.
The only artist that can center my spirit. Bjork absolutely yesssss!😄
ok where the HELL are Roy Orbison and Kate Bush?? Not even honourable mention
Yeah! and no mention of the loudest and best rock singer ever. Noddy Holder
yeah, #10 sounds like Kate Bush
Yep, definitely should've included Kate Bush. And Roy Orbison definitely crossed my mind - should've at least gotten a mention.
Kate Bush definitely should have been included. I was expecting her to be on the list.
Lets be honest Kate Bush should have been number 1. Clueless Mojo.
Gene Pitney had a distictive unique voice which you can't really mistake once you hear it. Also: George Jones, Grandpa Jones, Brad Roberts from Crash Test Dummies, Paul Robeson, James Brown, Shakira and Kate Bush
I like the honorable mentions better than the majority of the list
Yea
+Karami42 I'm old enough to have seen Udo in concert. Fantastic voice. Serj had one of the most unique voices ever and Sabbath, Ozzy's original band is the reason I love metal.
+Karami42 And there wouldn't be a Metallica and many others without Lemmy
I knew she sounded very similar to Kate Bush!
+Spy Retto I thought the same as well. Kate Bush singing 'Wuthering Heights' used to give me nightmares when I was tiny, according to my mum. I'd start crying- I think it's because I thought she was a ghost or something
Kate Bush - a musical and artistic genius in addition to her unique 4-octave voice
mvellis You're right, but the Björk's voice is more rare than Kate's voice, so can't be added at this list.
I think Joanna Newsom just sounds like Kate Bush anyway.
@Lisa Shelton Joanna Newsom is NOT Kate. End of discussion.
@Jacky B. Wrong. Kate did it loooong before Bjork
Jett Carlburg Kate and Bjork's voices sound nothing alike though.
i would have included nina simone, tracy chapman, pj harvey, aretha franklin, serj tankian and jeff buckley but the video can only be so long haha
Beenthere Donethat you'll find a lot of people will disagree but you are entitled to an opinion

Medusa Petrichor Tina Turner and Barry White
Serj I agree with
Анимешник well different opinions I guess. I don't think his voice is amazing, but I also don't think it's typical or bad
Too many to count on just a top 10 list, love so many of these and agree with the other commenters of those overlooked. All so amazingly good!
