Veronica is inclusive and gracious in the spotlight, digging and enthusiastically embracing the performance of each and every player while at the same time engaging the audience. Her contagious joy is the mark of a great singer who delivers.
Great playing all round! And of course, as is tradition, everyone laughing and talking over the bass solo unfortunately - Great vibes in general though, looks like a great night for everyone involved
I've been digging Veronica since the first time I heard her, maybe five years ago. She is the real deal! BUT -- where was the sound mixer on this gig? Did she do something to piss him/her off? BTW -- the reason we hear everyone talking over the bass solo is that the sound mixer doesn't have enough mics!
Her scat singing is better than Ella's - fantastic singer. Love that guitar player - he's really good and I've heard them all - been playing jazz piano since 1955..!
@@larrbrown7277maybe not better than Ellas sure, but it sounded pretty close in skill. Just because they’re jazz legends doesn’t mean the new generations can’t keep up!
@@duncancofell8960I think it's about improvising scat in the moment. Not just the mechanics of scat. Ella was in a different universe improvising-wise

incredibly well put
Veronica Swift is IT!! WOW!! Her artistry is amazing!!
I love that the pianist is in a kimono too! What a great set!
best scatting I've heard, she truly has the lines of a top level instrumentalist
She's the BEST
@@uzettem6964 Stephanie Nakasian is her mom!
@@Osnosis I know that of course, why did you tell me this?
@@uzettem6964 many do not. Veronica’s musical lineage goes a long way towards explaining her mastery.
Her scatting reminds me a lot of Ella Fitzgerald, especially in Ella's rendition of "Rockin' in Rhythm" with Duke Ellington's band
Just loved it. I remember the days when I was part of the scene
T.was great.
♥♥♥You can feel, see and hear: all these musicians love jazz - and jazz loves them!

didn't hear the bass solo. I fast forwarded it.
@@rickjustIt’s probably difficult to hear without a bass boosted speaker or headphones
I love veronica swift, she’s one of the greats
there will be other nights like this but there will never be another Veronica Swift
This was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed it. All great musicians and a really good jazz vocal from Veronica who is certainly charismatic.

Also listen to Louis Armstrong
Benny Benack 3 behind Veronica?
Yep
Addictive! Be ware!! (Jaja) excellent!
pennies - lol
Nasty Benny

At the start the bass player is completely out of rythm. Unable to play quarter notes regularly....
🤔🙄Not really sure I get what they are going for?
What do u mean with going for?
Not really sure what you’re going for 🤦♂️
Pennies from Heaven, probably.
