Ren just had a serious relapse and is back in Calgary again totalk offline for w few weeks at least. His team is on his socials. He is still positive for Bartonella, a co infection for Lyme. He crashed while trying to finish up sone videos before returning. Symptoms flooded and had shooting pain and went blind in one eye for 3 days. He is under much more intensive treatment which wipes him out.
Apparently it wasn’t even Ren’s doctor that offered the stem cell treatment. A dr saw his online health blog & approached him. He gave him treatment for free. Ren just had to provide room & board while he was in the US. It took 2 transplants to get him better enough to start living. He went downhill a couple years after & that’s when he arranged a specialized treatment in Canada. Unfortunately he’s back in Calgary for the time being, trying again. 💜
That part in the background that you mentioned sounds like a vocalization is, in fact, pieces of the Vera Hall sample, broken out and manipulated. Ren broke down how he created it on his Patreon account. Those videos usually show up eventually on his RenMakesStuff UA-cam channel, so keep an eye out.
The messages at the bottom are so incredibly touching. I have AS (an autoimmune disorder that affects spine, pelvis, and joints) MCAS, Fibromyalgia, OCD (actual diagnosed OCD, a literal nightmare) depression, ADHD, and I'm sure I forgot a couple. A couple days ago, my left eardrum ruptured, pouring blood into one of my adored Bose earbuds my husband gave me last Christmas. Apparently, I had a terrible ear infection that I didn't notice because the pain of it was so relatively small. 20 years ago, when my symptoms started, the first doctor I saw put his hand on my shoulder, and said "Being a mommy can be really hard", and spent the rest of the appt speaking only to my husband. This was 2005. NOT 1950. The medical community not only needs to do better, but there needs to be a way to remove inept doctors from the profession. It took 13 years to get my AS diagnosis, the cause of the largest amount of my pain. I've found some amazing, compassionate, intelligent doctors since, but I still sometimes bump into a random twot. I've been bed bound for 6 years now. When I must go to a Dr appt or a VERY rare outing, I use a wheelchair. I can't do scooters. Because of my pelvis, I have to be in a hammock style seat. I can't sit on hard or cushioned seats. So my husband pushes me around in the wheelchair. I'm so grateful for my super supportive husband. I'd never be able to leave the house without him. My kids are amazing, too. I don't know how chronic pain sufferers without a support system do it. I think of them often and hope for the best for them. I'm so grateful I found Ren almost 2 years ago. My light was fading. I was exhausted, in world shattering pain every day, I begged the universe to finally hear the words "It's fatal" from any of my doctors. I came to terms with death years ago, just hoping I wouldn't have to wait long. Ren brought light back into my life. I found my joy again, somehow. My husband and I laugh together again, my favorite thing about being with my soul mate. The pain is still horrendous, but at least my pendulum is swinging again. 💜💜💜
It is so cool that you are a Canadian reactor! I’ve been listening to Ren over 18 months now, and there never used to be anyone from Canada reacting to him. There are now several, and many who are familiar with the Calgary sites! What it means is that Ren is now cracking the great white North, and I’m happy for him. Unfortunately for him,as well, he’s back there now, apparently going through some tough therapy for his Lyme resurgence. For this track he mixed a sample from Vera Hall’s ‘Troubles so Hard’ and did some very creative manipulation of it, to come up with that high sound in the beat. There’s a video out there with no vocals, just the outstanding beat track.
❤❤❤ When Ren was at his illest, he was vlogging to tell his story, hoping someone would use the info after he died to maybe get more attention for everyone like him suffering so at least his life/death could mean something, and maybe help others. The STEM cell researcher doctor saw his vlog and had a son who was also a musician. He was moved, and he said once a year he helped someone for free at his clinic. Ren just had to get to L.A., find accommodation, and document it, and he gave him 2 stem cell transplants for free - worth about $25,000usd. Rens smile in his eyes when that stretch Limo pulls up is everything 😊 - serendipity & a great addition for the video. In Halftime, they had a couple serendipity moments too - the crosswalk counted down from 10 to 0 and he stopped walking exactly on 0, then when he was giving homage to past lost Old School Rappers a school bus went by. 😊😊😊
Love the Ren content... You gotta check out the acoustic version of this next, wihile this one is fresh in your mind so you can really see how they compare.
This may have been said, but there's a short he made of him creating a beat using the Vera Hall sample. Turning the voice in to a synthesizer. Pretty cool. As always- great reaction!
Hey DJ😊 There is studio BTS of this one on Ren Patreon. I'm sure you will love it😊 P. S Unfortunately Ren has a relapse and has returned to Calgary for another treatment.

Since you're into instrumentation, Ren has a short clip up on his Instagram producing the sample for this track
Nice Review. Hope you check out the acoustic version too.
Ren made that "synth" sound by putting filters on the original Vera Hall vocal sample - turned out pretty good !!!
He called it “Schelchy” 😁
The accoustic vers. Is even better..and the "Fred Again" live accoustic vers. Is a wild one too.
Peace✌

The acoustic version of this is definitely worth a listen. Fred Again mashup and Back on 74/Message in a Bottle are fabulous.
I must see this now.

Yes, this is indeed calgary 😂😂
The guitar is very John Frusciante, who Ren name checks in a different song.
His Halftime (Naz Retake) was also filmed in Calgary.
As great as the music is, the message is much better.
Hey DJ😊
There is studio BTS of this one on Ren Patreon. I'm sure you will love it😊
P. S Unfortunately Ren has a relapse and has returned to Calgary for another treatment.
That's too bad :(. I really hope he gets well soon.
